Good for him, behind Cutler, he will probably be able to just hang around as a backup and maybe he'll get a chance where the kid happens to go down. I hope he plays well if given the opportunity.

What we're missing here is the bigger picture. Namely that Joe Gibbs didn't use his voodoo magic to stifle Ramsey again. Certainly he'll remind Shanahan of this as trade talks continue.

Glad he is a very subjective reporter. Guess he has forgotten all of the QB's Gibbs has won with. I loved Ramsey but to say he was over coached is boarderline crazy. He played well and had bad days due to inexperience but not because he was overcoached. Seems Gibbs told Patrick the situation with Campbell and Brunnell and said he would look for a team for him. They mutually agreed upon the Jets and it looked like he had a great chance to start. What gives with Lenny is what I ask, apparently the journalism school he went to taught some really bad habits or is it just so simple to say he sucks.

I don't think what he said was inncorrect and Ramsey did get the short end of the stick in 05. I don't think he was talking about Gibbs when he mentioned being over coached.

Unfortunately we're still that team until we win one.
As is evidenced by a smattering of articles already written by the usual suspects, the Redskins are off again in one of their 'wild spending sprees" signing old washed up players, but Denver and they're 10 signings every year (and commensurate 6 or 7 cuts) never gets mentioned.
If you asked a typical NFL fan who had the highest payroll ever, 99% will say the Redskins, but it would indeed be Denver.
When you ask the typical football fan who can't manage the cap, they'll say the Redskins, but year in and year out the Broncos are cutting players of value.. last year when it looked as though the collective bargaining agreement was going to fall thru at the last minute, Denver wasted no time in cutting 3 starters. Trevor Pryce had a fine year for the Ravens, while Denver's defense struggled. Mike Anderson didn't necessarily produce much for Baltimore being behind Jamal Lewis on the depth chart, but as the Broncos starting RB he was terrific. Is it coincidence Denver went thru the entire season unsettled at the RB position, and missed the playoffs?

These guys have made idiotic signings for big money that have blown up in their faces (see Dale Carter, Chester McGlockton) They give outrageous bonuses to one hit wonders (Brian Griese got a huge extension after his ROOKIE year) and they eat large chunks of money in accelerated cap hits when they get rid of guys (the same Griese cost them 7 million to get rid of 2 years later.)

Playoff appearances coat them with Teflon. That is the only difference between us.

Apparently, "inability to escape the pocket" is "solid pocket presence". Kind of like "creativity in pleasing a woman" is "sometimes can't get it up."

Uh....I guess I can wish him well, I'm just glad he's not our our team anymore. I rooted for him as long as I could....but there comes a time when you have to "let go"........of the darn football!!!!

Shanahan has a thing for immobile ex-Redskins, apparently. It must be a seperate section of the playbook because certainly they wouldn't let Patrick run a boot would they? With Elway and then Plummer the boot action was about half of the passing game.
