Has anyone heard about Bengals left tackle Levi Jones being jumped and robbed by a group of men led by Joey Porter...that's right Joey Porter of the Miami Dolphins. Apparently the incident has roots in on-field trash talking that goes back several years.

Joey Porter is and always has been a mouthy hothead. Doesn't suprise me one bit. At least Levi Jones didn't get arrested. Maybe the Bengals are making some progress in that department! HA

Porter is a thug, and Miami is stupid for dishing out a large contract for him. He'll do nothing but hurt the teams image and play at an increasingly bad level as he's getting on in years.

Porter runs his mouth too much. But some of the stuff he says is funny as hell. I caught a sound bite on NFL Network once and he was just killing TJ H. of the Bengals.

To me it sounds as if Jones is just a cry babby because he got jacked up by Porter. They both went out side and Porter got the best of him and that should be the end of the story. Jones did get up and go out side so I feel he is just as guilty as Porter only he lost. So now he's whinning. IS Porter a thug? From what I've gathered he's only been in this incident over his career, and just beacause he likes to trash talk he is considered a thug? I think he is passionate about the game of football and he has carried it of the football field. I think the guy can still play although I do agree with you in the fact that The Fins paid him way to much money. Anyway thats all I have.

I agree he hit him but I'm sure Jones did not walk outside with him to talk about the weather. I'm sure he would have hit Porter first given the chance. I just feel that if you stand up and go outside with someone you have intentions of fighting and you cannot whine about getting hit because of your intentions.

Jones definitely doesn't appear to be an innocent party but the bottom line is Porter hit him first. I really don't have any pity for either, but Porter is more at fault since he hit him.

When to grown men (should be grown men) walk out side to fight both are as guilty the way I see it. Now if they were just having a few words in the casino and Porter hit him then I'd agree with you.

You are correct. If they both "went outside", they did not do so innocently. At that point, if it's me, I'm gonna' draw first blood if possible. However, Porter's track record really sucks. Better off in Miami, than here.

Porter was ejected from a 2004 game against the Cleveland Browns after getting into a fistfight with Browns running back William Green. Green was also ejected for this altercation.

Porter is known to bare his belly and taunt other teams during warm-ups, as in the Green altercation.

Before Pittsburgh's 2005 divisional playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts, Porter commented:

"They don't want to just sit there, line up and play football. They want to try to catch you off guard. They don't want to play smash-mouth football, they want to trick you with candy and bring you into their car and lock all the doors. ...They want to catch you substituting. Know what I mean? They don't want to just call a play, get up there and run a play. They want to make you think. They want it to be a thinking game instead of a football game."[1]

"I'm looking forward to it. I have something to tell him, too. I don't like the way things are running right now. I feel like he has to give me some of my money back, so I got something to tell Bush." The Steelers later released a statement saying that Porter had been joking and that he meant no disrespect. At the White House, in an effort to downplay the controversy, he was put as far as possible from the president on the bleachers behind him, in the back row on the right, wearing sunglasses.

Porter was fined every game for wearing yellow gloves with the Steelers. Even though they are the team's color, the league still does not allow his yellow gloves to be worn.

In 2003, he was shot on the left side of his buttocks outside of a bar in Denver, Colorado. He was in town for the Colorado-Colorado State football game.

On September 21 2006, his two dogs (a mastiff and a pit bull) got loose and killed a neighbor's 29-inch miniature horse. [4]

[8]It has also been reported that Levi Jones accused Porter of stealing his jewelry during the altercation.

Like I said his problems is he talks too much which most of this stuff is about. His dogs attacking a little horse was just a unfortunate incident unless he had them do it which is not the case. He also got Forest Gumped (something jump up and bit him in the buttucks) which it seems he was just in the wrong place and at the wrong time. Ok, I'll give you the one about him punching Jones. I have a hard time believing that he was stealing his jewelry durn the altercation. If thats true how come Jones could defend himself as Porter was interest in stealing his stuff. LOL

I think the guys getting DUIs and having their posses try to kill people are a far bigger blight on society and the league.
