Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
to the bears for a sixth
|
Re: Arch traded
Nooooooo. (Cite your source). In all seriousness that sounds like good news for both parties.
|
Re: Arch traded
IT was on espn last minute this just in: Arch gone to the bears for a 6th round pick
|
Re: Arch traded
Just seen this also on NFL Total Access. I wanted to keep Arch, and see if we could work out any packages, but i'll take a 6th pick for him.
|
Re: Arch traded
6th is about what we should have expected for him.....
Worst FA Blunder maybe ever for the Washington Redskins, just a stupid ass signing with Sean Taylor already here. I honestly think Archuletta will be a impact player next season now that he's in Chicago. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I think with Archuletta on his way out we should now take the time to consider Landry in the draft. I know it probably won't happen but we still have to look at our options.

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
We got robbed!!!!! I am so pissed. We could have got a 3rd rounder!! This blows!!! WHy!!!!!why!!!!WHYYYYYY!!!!!!!! Why.

Re: Arch traded
Schefter reported that there is a possibility that this contract says that if he preforms well, the draft pick will be raised.
I am happy that we delt him but I was expecting a third to fith from Lovie, he seemed like he really wanted him I also wonder how the contract was done, I think this will tell us what we are planning to do for the rest of this year and for next year. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I think it's a bad trade, but as in bad-but insignificant NOT as in bad-and very costly.
I think the better move would have been to take another year and try to get some return on investment. But with Prioleau manning the secondary next year, the only thing that REALLY matters is that we get an impact player on the defensive line in this draft. And that we don't end up with Calvin Johnson. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
We're very lucky to get anything for him.
I wonder if he re-worked his deal to get out of town. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I think the main selling point for the Redskins was ridding themselves of Archulettas contract.
|
Re: Arch traded
Somebody set up a crisis hotline for Hess. :(
I hate the way this whole thing played out. Ugly, just plain ugly. |

I wonder if he re-worked his deal to get out of town.[/QUOTE] Seriously! You guys think we could have gotten a THIRD!?!? The writing was on the wall that despite what Gibbs says, Arch was gone. Why would they part ways with a 3rd if he was probaboly just gonna get axed anyways. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I still think he was the infamous leak from last season.

Hopefully we can use the cap space to re-sign Chris Cooley next year. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
Thats basically a 7th rounder. I always liked him. I think we should have more.

I'm with you here. A 3rd rounder?! LOL No way. |

I agree. That's one reason why I'm glad to see him go. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I feel bad for all 12 people that bought his jersey.
I'm glad he's gone before he had a chance to be a distraction. Hopefully we don't have to eat too much of his contract, if any at all. |

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
Now if we could only find someone stupid enough to take on my boy B. Llyod.
|
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
Did I say third? I think Arch was not used very well, but I was joking. Geeeez!

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
OK, the Archuleta trade lowers our available cap room by 6.72 million for 2007.
However, our cap numbers are lowered in the remaining years of the deal by the following amounts: 2008-3.8 million 2009-5.8 million 2010-7.8 million 2011-7.8 million 2012-5.8 million Total saved: 33.28 million Total cost of release: 9 million Net savings: 24.28 million Archuleta made 10.5 million from us total over his time here, 1/3 of the total value of the contract. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
The biggest thing here is that, according to ESPN we got rid of his contract. I dont know what that shakes out too cap wise, but i'm pretty sure (again could be wrong), that we take his hit this season and free up some cap room next season. With Cooley being a free agent at seasons end, thats a HUGE PLUS.

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
How much cap room do we have now?

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
So how much did it cost the Redskins to trade him? Yes we get a 6th pick that is a very low one but what did we have to pay?

We dont know, not untill we find out how they reworked his contract |

We gain cap room in all future seasons. |

no 6.72 less, but thats not true either, we need to know how his contract was restructured before we know how the cap is impacted. |
Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I certainly hope they at least re-worked his deal to let him go?
#6 beats a blank, which is what we had with ARCH! I pray we learned a lesson from this deal....THE HARD WAY! BYE DEION |

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
well it's good that bad move is over! Duckett and Arch.... moves we are paying for in money and draft picks in 07! Just keeps getting better!

I highly doubt that we would have dumped him unless we got some cap relief through a restructure. I can't see us taking a $7M cap hit this season. |

We can sign the No. 6 pick and 4 others with that. |
