Which 2002 QB is this?

Who is this quote about? David Carr, Joey Harrington or Patrick Ramsey
It was made w/in the last 3 months.

"If you see signs of a guy getting better year to year that's one thing. But he didn't. In some games, yes, he looked like a legitimate NFL quarterback. But he didn't do it in enough games. Most quarterbacks find certain things — special plays, a particular receiver — to fall back on when they need to. [The Mystery QB] never really established any of that."

Re: Which 2002 and QB is this?

It could be very easily said of any of these guys... I'll guess Harrington.

Re: Which 2002 QB is this?

Same QB:

"[Mystery QB] got sacked so much and [his team] committed so many blunders that he just didn't get any better,"

"Watching him ... you could tell he's lost a lot of confidence. He [needed/needs] a change of scenery. I think a new environment will do him good."

How about making it a poll?

i think it is obviously carr

Well considering Carr was the only one of the three to be on the same team since 2002, he's obviously the only one that you can use the tired "he needs a change of scenery" excuse on.

Re: Which 2002 QB is this?

Seems obvious to me - Ramsey!

I say that cause this is a Skins site, so there wouldn't be as much reason to put it out there if it were one of the others. Also, Ramsey never seemed to look any more confident w/time.

Yup, definitely Carr. He also got sacked more than Harrington and Ramsey.

i think it was carr, but if the time frame was right, could easily be any of the 3

I believe that was what Pastabelly said about Ramsey last year.

I would have thought so too, but he said the quotes were made within the last three months.

This thread reminds me, I asked Jason Campbell a question on Washington Post Live last week, it was the 3rd one they got to. What did you guys think about it?

David Carr. It can't be ramsey, in order for it to be Ramsey he would have had to play, his entire career doesn't add up to a full season of starts.

I think Ramsey as he was let go by the Jets and I think this was something that was writen about him at that time.
I think Ramsey as he was let go by the Jets and I think this was something that was writen about him at that time.
I think everything except for that "he needs a change of scenery" comment makes sense for Ramsey. But why would the person say that after he just left his second team in a row? Third time's a charm?

I'd be willing to bet AMD's virginity that it is David Carr.

Trust me, it's a safe bet. I wouldn't make unnecessary sacrifices if I wasn't sure of it.

Re: Which 2002 QB is this?

I think even if you combined all three QBs you'd still have a sucky QB.

We could call him Patrick Carrington.

JoeRedskin 03-26-2007 02:09 PM

Re: Which 2002 QB is this?

Yeah, it was Carr.

Here is the link: Carr's tale: Signed, sacked, shipped off from Texans | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

I probably should have said the remark was made in the last year as opposed to limiting it to the last three months. As Matty said, when I read the first quote, I thought it could have applied to any of the three. It really seems like all three of them had similar problems in terms of lacking football instincts and having a good feel for the game.

It appears AMD's virginity is still safe - that would, of course, explain his poor eyesight.

Also, I am not sure "flower" is an appropriate euphamism - more like "Ragweed".

ArtMonkDrillz 03-26-2007 02:14 PM

Re: Which 2002 QB is this?

I wonder if it could be due to the fact that all three came from schools that aren't really known for producing big time football players, especially QBs. Maybe their college experience (on the field) didn't prepare them all that well for the speed and the complexity of the NFL.
Just a thought.

He would be inconsistent; with a strong arm but with an incredible talent for throwing it into the lineman's butt b/c of his low delivery (and as an ancillary problem, high number of OL on IR due to power wedgies); he would be very tough in the pocket but also have the mobility of a statue; and, while an intelligent person, he would have the football instincts of a blind gopher.

Re: Which 2002 QB is this?

It's gotta be Carr.

Ramsey had good players around him. His failure was entirely his.

Harrington played for a team who drafted new WRs for him every year.

Carr never really had any real weapons with the exception of Andre Johnson, but not back in 2002.

David Carr for sure. But this thread made me cringe when I was reminded of how many times Ramsey got crushed in the Spurrier era...

But how about the comments Dunta Robinson made about Carr earlier this month.

"''I've been with David Carr for three years, and it just hasn't gotten the job done for us,''
