Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
Well, since everyone was debating who would get the first touch... who will be the last man standing?
:dallas: |
Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
j Campbell with a kneel down
|
Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
right before J.Campbell kneels down, Rock Cartwright gets his first and only carry in a Superbowl.
Skins - 38 NE - 35 |
Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
OK....let's exclude the kneel down... I will change the question to: Who gets the last MEANINGFUL carry.

ARE - on an 35 yard end around for a TD in the NFC championship game to tie the score...Unfortunately on the next series with under 30 seconds to play Drew Brees throws a rainbow pass to Marques Colston for a gain of 55 yards (apparently Carlos Rogers still hasn't figured out that giving a #1 receiver a 20 yard cushion just gives him more room to work the fade route) but is pushed out of bounds at the 15 yard line by Grimm Reaper Taylor (his name was officially changed for a playoff publicity stunt thought of by Dan Snyder) and recently converted Safety Lemar Marshall. The Saints hand it off to Deuce twice up the gut and recently re-signed first time pro-bowler Alan branch makes two crucial tackles. The saints call a timeout and in an ironic twist John Hall steps out on the field for his first action of the season after Carney pulled his hamstring earlier in the game. He kicks a game winning FG and the redskin's stunning playoff run as the wild card team comes to an end. 3 separate threads are started on the warpath within 5 minutes about how stupid the skins FO is for letting John Hall go, even though new starting placekicker Nick Novak has broken the single season most FG's made and longest FG ever (of 78 yards)...he had a "rookie of the yearesque" injury in the locker room during training camp. |

Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
Portis as he breaks off tackle on 4th and 1 in the Super Bowl and goes for 43 yards and the go ahead TD. :)

|
Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
I was going to say Mark Brunell on a kneel-down but since that is out I'll say Taylor on an INT.

In the Super Bowl. And I'll be on the sidelines with Scarlett Johansson. |
Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
After losing Portis and Betts to injury in a physical NFC championship victory over the Bears, Ade Jimoh is asked to start at runningback in the superbowl. He rushes for 280 yards and three touchdowns, including a hard fought third and three to seal a 31-28 victory over Norv Turner's Chargers.

Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
Joe Gibbs, as he is hoisted off of the field weilding the Lombardi!

Now... everyone knows this scenario is PURE fantasy... since when has Norv become the head coach and improved the team???? He will tease you with what looks like a playoff run and collapse down the stretch (as history shows)..... How about Marcus Washington forcing a fumble of Peyton Manning and ST recovering it for a victory in XLII?? |
Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
Wouldn't the Super Bowl be 2008?
|
Re: Who gets the LAST carry in 2007????
Guys, unless they're packing the playoffs and Weeks 14-17 all in the month of December then the last carry of 2007 will probably be in Week 17. By that time we'll have secured our first round BYE and wel'l be resting Portis and Betts. Cartwright gets the last meaningful touch in 2007.

Picky, picky... in the football world, 2007 does not end until after the superbowl. I know this because my religion is football so we work with our own calendar separate from the rest of the world. :food-smil |
