trade with pats
we should trade springs and uor 6 pick to the pats for samuel and their 24 pick and their 3 round pick.this trade makes more sense than the briggs trade does, cause we sucked at the db area last year with very few picks.with the 24 pick get brandon meriweather, then trade the 3 round and next years 3 rounder for a 2 round pick this year and take charles johnson.

Man, you have analyised, synthesized and over empathsized the point of getting Samuels. |
Re: trade with pats
it makes sense though.dont you think.
|
Re: trade with pats
Aside from the D-Line problems still not being addressed, oh and the huge amount of cap killing dollars that Asante would cost.
I'd make that trade in Madden though. |
Re: trade with pats
boy I can't wait unitl the season starts. we have talked about all these trade scenarios way TOO much..
NO TO SAMUEL - makes no sense. Rogers, springs, smoot, Macklin are good corners. No need to bring in another starter. How about adding some quality depth if you want to bring someone else in. If we bring in another starter its going to cause tension. we need to have someone that knows their role. We have 4 starters as it is. |
Re: trade with pats
You guys kill me when you talk about Madden. What a thread-kill.
|
Re: trade with pats
really enough already no more trade talk havent seen it on tv just keep the damn 6th pick take gaines adams if he is gone take landry and use the last 4 picks we have in day to on d lineman we could find a mark anderson or marques colston and sign ian scott
|
Re: trade with pats
amen quake, but instead of adams i would take anderson, if hes gone go landry
|
Re: trade with pats
oh no
|
Re: trade with pats
springs will be gone next year.plus he wont take a pay cut so samuel would be a great replacement, besides hes only 25.
|
Re: trade with pats
wait, so are you just making this scenario up?
|
Re: trade with pats
no.theres been some talk about it,but if it happens it probably wont happen till draft day.thats why they havent said much about it.

you must have fallen and hit you head if you think asante samuel is a good fit here with the defensive system gw runs...sure samuel is an interception machine but he isnt big enough nor physical enough to play corner in a greg williams defense. |

Samuel might be an overrated player because of his liability against the run, assuming he does in fact present a liability against the run. He will be no worse off here than he was in NE though, so if you thought he was a good player in NE, then you also think he will be a good player here. Grilliams likes bigger corners, as he darn well should, because they tend to be undervalued. But that shouldn't take away from the fact that Samuel is an outstanding player that any team would be lucky to have. |
it makes sense though.dont you think.
Nope. The guy wants a gazillion dollars. |
Re: trade with pats
I agree 100% Asante Samuels is a great corner. Make the trade if the people in the front office can pay the man JUST enough to keep him happy. I would have had a hard time accepting the Lance Briggs trade, but this trade would make some sense. We need to make stopping the pass #1 priority!
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS |
Re: trade with pats
Sean Springs is terrible and lost a FEW steps. Carlos Rogers still has NOT shown me that he is even in the same league with guys like Champ and Mr.Green! Macklin WHO? Thank god for the ruturn of Smoot!!! We need a shut down corner like Asante Samuels. Let Smoot and Samuels teach Rogers how to shut down the passing game!
P.S. Send Springs down the road before he is worth nothing. |

The trade sounds good, but their is a disparity in the value. The 6th pick and S. Springs won't be enough for a "franchise-tagged player," the 24th pick, and a 3rd rounder. I say this because the link below shows the draft pick value chart, and if one were to posulate the the A. Samuel addition to the trade would put the trade at an unequal plane. ESPN.com - NFL/DRAFT06 - NFL draft-pick value chart It would be great for us, but I highly doubt it will come to fruition. |
Re: trade with pats
Part of the reason the Pats are such a great organization is that they would never take such a shitty trade. A injury plagued corner, over thirty, in the last years of large contract has very, very little trade value.

I would think we're going to go with what we have at the CB position despite the fact we could stand to upgrade. I don't think it likely we will trade any existing players, and Springs will be a Redskin despite his contract. Samuel will cost more than Springs. |
Re: trade with pats
the 6 pick will cost just as much if not more than samuel.i dont need to post those sights.go find them yourself.we dont need okoye cause hes a dt and we have plenty of them.we need a pass rushing de like charles johnson.

First off, what's a "true rumor" Secondly, PM me and tell me where you basically found the info. You said the Boston Herald and the Pats sites, just tell me what you clicked on and I'll find it and post the link for you. And finally, you need to curb your attitude |
