5 Most Important Players
If the entire Redskins team was going up for free- agency and we could only sign 5 players, who would they be? Here's mine:
1) Jason Campbell 2) Clinton Portis 3) Jon Jansen 4) Sean Taylor 5) Santana Moss |

Portis Jansen Cooley Taylor
Agreed, even tho we wld need to add someone from o-line.. So the number, "5" is impossible for this team.. |

1. Clinton Portis
2. Jason Campell 3. Sean Taylor 4. Chris Cooley 5. Marcus Washington |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
I'd love to hear the rationale for keeping Jansen over Samuels.

I was thinking the same thing. Everyone kinda hates on Chris Samuels for some reason. He's better than Jon Jansen. Jansen has been unreliable the past few years and Samuels is younger. Samuels is what he is. He's not the best right tackle in football, but I think he's probably in the top 5, no worse than like the 7th best tackle. Left tackles are a lot less important, especially now that the Skins have gone back to the right handed QB. 1. Portis 2. Campbell 3. Moss 4. Taylor 5. Randy Thomas (he's the leader of that line) |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
Campbell
Moss Portis Randle El Taylor |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
If I could be sure they would all stay healthy, it would be:
Moss Portis Samuels Washington Springs In real life, substitute Taylor for Springs. Alright.I'm changing it to Cooley over Springs and Taylor in honor of skinsfanNN |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
No love for Carter, Goldston, or Rocky?

I don't think he's been the same since the injury. I know he had 2 messed up hands a couple seasons ago, but I just don't think he's ever been the same. I think he's good, but I don't think he's great any more. I think he's a guy who plays great in spurts, but can't always be counted on to be a beast. |

Re: 5 Most Important Players
Im going to give 3 different answers, one is best for the money that they get (including rookies), 2nd is best for the money that they get (not including rookies), and 3rd is just best talent.
For the money (rookies included) 1. Campbell 2. Betts 3. Moss 4. Samuels 5. Taylor For the money 1. Betts 2. Moss 3. Samuels 4. Thomas 5. Smoot (I hope) Skill 1. Portis 2. Carter 3. Samuels 4. Thomas 5. Moss |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
Official list:
1. Portis 2. Moss 3. Samuels 4. Taylor 5. toss up between Springs (healthy) and Campbell Unofficial list: 1. Stillnota ______ 2. _____ Withyerself 3. Record ______ 4. _____ Hatin' 5. Todd Collins |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
1) Chris Samuels
2) Santana Moss 3) Clinton Portis 4) Jason Campbell 5) Sean Taylor Age plays a role. I almost put Randy Thomas instead of Sean Taylor, but Thomas is considerably older. Randy Thomas doesn't get nearly enough credit in this league. |

Re: 5 Most Important Players
Really, our coaching staff. I still believe in them...and I still believe that with the right coaching, you can plug all sorts of players in and out.
1- Gibbs 2- Saunders 3- Williams 4- Bugel 5- whoever you deem next important. A truely great coaching staff is hard to find! If we win the super bowl this year, we will all be saying how wonderful our coaching staff is. |

Not sure what you mean by that the left tackle is more important with a right handed QB?? |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
Not sure what you mean by that the left tackle is more important with a right handed QB??
Because the left side is his blind side. |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
1) Campbell
2) Samuels 3) Portis 4) Taylor 5) Fletcher |
Re: 5 Most Important Players
Because the left side is his blind side.
I don't necessarily buy into the blind side theory. As a former QB, I can tell you the blind side is the way you aren't looking. If a right-handed QB is looking to the left sideline, his blindside is going to be anything outside the right guard.
The LT always has the most responsibility, even for left handed QBs, because all teams line their best pass rusher up on the right. |

Similarly, Boomer Esiason and Anthony Munoz. |
