Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
With the draft a little more then a week away what don't you wanted the Redskins to do with that six pick? Be it a trade or a player in the draft that you don't seeing being a move that can make this team better?
For me there is just to many needs and too little draft picks to fill. Trade down only if there is some one that is going to be a cooley type player in the 3rd round! What I like not to see is a trade that dosen't fill a need or a player drafted that isn't a sure thing! We have one pick on day one of this draft and it better be good be it a D linemen or Landry! |
Re: Who with the 6th pick you don't wanted?
I can't really say 'who with the 6th pick I don't wanted." It's a very tricky question.

Re: Who with the 6th pick you don't wanted?
With the 6th pick I don't wanted Gaines Adams.
All your base are belong to us. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
I changed the title for clarity.

Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
I don't wanted Gaines Adams either. I wouldn't wanted to see our D with both Carter and Adams both playing at the same time unless it's like 3rd and 25 and the other team is losing so they have to pass.
I also don't wanted the trade for Briggs. I don't minded if we do make a trade, but I'd rather it be for a D-lineman or multiple picks. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Branch.
I don't think we have to worry about taking him though, he seems to have never been very high on our radar. Along with the laziness issue there are now reports that he has stress fractures in his legs and there are serious concerns about him being able to hold up for an entire season. I wouldn't have touched him before the news of the stress fractures, and I really wouldn't want him now. Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
I dont want Alan Branch or Jamal Anderson
|
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Honestly, I like Carter as a great all-around DE. He was making stops in the backfield, sacking the QB and just being a great presence period. I AM concerned about Adams though, but with our LB corps, I think we can make up for some of those deficiencies provided he can get to the QB.

Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Russell
Quinn Anderson Branch Actaully my lists goes on and on. It's not a list of players I don't want more than it is a list of players who I don't want to pick at 6. I'd love Branch but I think we could get more value by trading a little and picking him lower. Same with Anderson. At 6 Landry is proper value and maybe Okoye for us. If Thomas were to slip magically I don't know what we'd do. He'd be a great value at 6 but we dont need him at all really. I will be disappointed if we stay at 6. I think we can get more value trading. Either up for Johnson or down for a guy we'd pick anyways and some picks. I can't understand if we stick 6 unless we just can't find a good eal. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
If Thomas falls, just EXPECT the offers to be rolling in from people who need his help. If he fell, we hit the jackpot.
|
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Adams-liability against the run
Branch-too much money to risk on his character Russell/Quinn-we have a QB Thomas-we have tackles Peterson-we are stacked at RB Landry-We really need to adresss d-line I wont be mad at all if we picked Landry because he seems like he can make things happen, and i wont be that upset if we get branch or adams because at least it bolsters up our d-line. |

Yeah I think you're right. I just can't see how the only plan we aren't pursuing is setting up like 25 different potential trade downs and then letting 1-5 happen and take whichever trade down deal is the best left. From what I have read and heard most scouts look at this as a 6 player draft. At 6 we are in the best position to maxmize value of ALL teams in the top 6. There is going to be someone available at 6 that multiple teams want. And most likely we won't need that guy. Better to trade down and pick up a 2nd or something and take a guy we need. I can even see trading up for Johnson. But if we stick at 6 I will be pissed. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
I still think it's win-win. If we trade down, I'll be slightly upset, but at six, we're still going to get someone great.
I just want to move a few spots down, get Carriker, Anderson, Branch, Okoye, ANY of those guys and use our second or third pick on a guard or DB. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
I think we are wasting potential value by picking at 6.
|
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Do you think we should take whatever we can for that pick even if it involves moving down a few spots and getting a fourth or fifth rounder?
|

Let's hope Quinn slides, I could see the Dolphins being very interested in trading up to grab him ahead of the Vikings. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
I just don't see Trent Green as a viable option for them. It's not like they're close where having Green as a stop-gap for one year is going to help them a whole lot.

If we know we can get the guy we want then yeah. It comes down to how much risk is that 4th or 5th rounder worth. If there is basically no risk moving down then take the extra picks. We should get more than that though. I might hold out on principle in that case I guess. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Yeah, I'm just worried who we would end up with. I guess we would at the VERY least have a good DE prospect still available to us.
|
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
i dont want one of the guys who will inevitably turn out to be one of this years busts. i do want one of the guys who will end up being a superstar. i dont care who it is or what position he plays.

Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
A QB. Any other pick I could live with, but drafting a QB would be asinine.

So whats the problem with Gaines Adams all of a sudden? He may end up being one of the best pass rushers of his time or he could be a bust. Jury is still out, but if he his on the board at 6 i say take him or Okoye. As long as we don't take a QB, RB, or OL. Hell i even think if we took Greg Olsen he would give the skins another playmaker on the opposite side of Cooley. |

i wouldnt say all of that |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Trade down. More Picks!

Even dropping one spot (to #7) is worth a 4th Round Pick, dropping two spots is worth a high third round pick. We aren't talking about getting a 4th or 5th to drop down, we are talking about high first day picks. I also think people are jumping off Gaines Adams too quickly just because he weighs 260 lbs. I think it is a mute point because he won't be there is almost nothing - save maybe yards per pass attempt - that is more important to winning in the NFL than getting to the opposing teams quarterback. I don't know if Gaines Adams is going to be an elite pass rusher, but if he is that is the type of player you have to have on your team. When was the last time the Redskins had an elite pass rusher (that wasn't Bruce Smith in the twilight of his career)? Ken Harvey led the league in sacks one year (but with like 12.5), but I mean you have to go back to Charles Mann and really to Dexter Manley for the last time they had someone who could get after the quarterback on a consistent basis. I actually wouldn't mind taking Adams, but he won't be there, and I'd say Branch is the one I wouldn't want. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Ultimately, everybody who isn't Okoye or Carriker.
We trade down, my list widens. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
i wouldnt want john cena either
|
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
or Mark Brunell...oh wait.
I agree with Buster. As long as a need is filled, I'm ok with whomever. But I do not want a Russell or Quinn or whatever other QB is available. |
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Ted Ginn

Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Gaines Adams.
|
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
any of the quarterbacks, landry, or johnson. we need defensive linemen
|
Re: Who DON'T you want with the 6th pick?
Landry, I dont want to waste the potential of getting a great Dlinemen and copping out for a safety.
