Brad Badger Released by Raiders
The Oakland Raiders have released veteran guard, Brad Badger.
Should the Redskins think about signing him? |
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
former skin, but the raiders had the worst line ever so i dont know
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
I would want to stay away from anyone on that line, they where horrible
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
I say sure, barring injury and for vet minimum, of course.
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
did he ever set foot on the field as a redskin? depth only.
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
If you can't make it on the Raider's O Line.......
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
Normally I'd be setting the "if they can't make it on such and such" crowd straight...but in this case they are 100% correct.

I don't know much about Starke, and yes Jacoby was a free agent. But Bostic, Grimm, and May were all All-Americans. May and Grimm were drafted in the first couple rounds I believe, Bostic I don't recall. But the main difference is they were all young. Badger would be entering his 12th season. We already have plenty of stop-gap veterans. We need an infusion of youth on the O-line |
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
Is there anyone in the league released by other teams that someone dosen't think we should sign. Brad Badger......Come on!!!
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
Did he now ?
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
Draft a guard or wait til June 1. Unless we trade our #6 pick for more lower round picks, wait til June and pick up a FA guard up on his first contract renewal to get a guy that will be around long enough to make a true impact.

Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
Wasn't Badger a backup during the Turner/Frerotte era?
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
I dont see a prob with signing him, most of you assume he sux b/c he was with the raiders. if russ grimm played for tampa bay in his time rather than us... would tampa have a great line? no. i hope we do sign badger...and badger, fabini, wade and tucker all duke it out and we can always release who doesnt fit during training camp and pre season. it wouldnt hurt
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
I think he was a backup for the Skins, but I think we should look at Oline towards the later rounds of the draft.

Completely agree. Vet minimum 1 year deal. If he outplays the other backups keep him, if not what really are we out? If nothing else he can play Tackle and Guard and he has been around awhile. Maybe a UFA rookie can pick up a few things from him. |
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
When did we become a clearinghouse for everyone else's garbage?
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
O-line depth would be nice and if he doesn't pan out no big loss.

when someone has nothing.... dont you find them digging in garbages? LG is up in the air as of now. sign him and if he is worse off then tucker and fabini, dump him back |
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders

Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
If you're an offensive lineman that gets cut by the Raiders, chances are you already have one foot out of the league and the other foot on a banana peel.
|
Re: Brad Badger Released by Raiders
I agree, why is it as soon as anyone gets released we are always saying should we pick them up. We want quality guys not just fillers. We need a starter and it would be nice to see someone young join the O-line instead of a guy who is on his way out the door.. we have tried that in the past with the Deion, Brice Smith thing. Lets look for someone young or get them in the draft.
