self-imposed ban on draft talk
Ok I can't take it anymore. I'm officially exhausted with posting/reading about the draft. Is it just me or has the pre-draft hype been insane this year?
Post here if you want to join me in refraining from all draft discussion until the draft. |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
Sold.

Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
count me in, i cant wait till saturday so that this stuff WILL END!!!!
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
If I could, I would sign this in blood.
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
I have been all over the off-topic lately because I cant take anymore draft talk. Unfortunately at this time a year there is nothing else to talk about when it comes to football. Oh well. Only a few days left I guess.
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
i don't think it would be as bad if people would refrain from all the ridiculous rumors. just because some so called expert lays out a scenario, its not cause for panic
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
The Post has us taking LL!
I couldn't stand not being able to write any more about the Draft! |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
I don't think I can resist throwing my .02 in here and there, but I know what you mean.
This year's draft talk seems more intense than usual, and it appears to increase every year. I don't remember getting this worked up over the #5 pick back in '04 with Sean Taylor. I guess that was more cut and dry than it is this time, where it looks like the possiblities with our pick could go anywhere. I do think they should move the date up earlier in April though. Maybe that would help. Waiting until practically May for the Draft is maddening. |

AGREED!!! " OMG the Patriots are going to trade Tom Brady for our sixth pick"... 1000 threads later we find out it is a rumor/lie. Hello people sports writers get paid to write. |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
WAIT!!!!! OMFG!!!! I just heard a guy who listened to some guy on ESPN and he said that the guy said that the Redskins may trade for CJ or may trade down for more picks. This guy also said that guy said that we could stay pat and draft Okoye. Or, he said we could trade up for Russell, which is plausible since we worked him out.
I too am getting tired of the draft. I can't wait for it to be over. |

Post here if you want to join me in refraining from all draft discussion until the draft.[/QUOTE] I'm on board 100% with this one. All this speculation is more than one can bear. I'm content to wait and see what happens as opposed to a lot of talk about something that's probaly so far from being real that it's not worthy of discussion. |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
Signed! I don't want to talk about it anymore. I'll be so glad when they call our name.
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
I'm with you Matty. I'm at the point where I want Saturday to get here not for the draft, but so I don't have to hear all this ridiculously repetitive analysis. I posted this on another thread yesterday, but it works here to:
I think ESPN is waaaay too obsessed with the draft. They have had 2 hours worth of draft specials on EVERY DAY for the past week, and we're still 5 days away. I mean how much is there really to talk about? ESPN is annoying right now, and I'm SO SICK of McShay and Kiper I could puke. As far as this site goes, I think we're all just obsessed with football and the Redskins, and right now, as it relates to football, there just isn't anything else to talk about. I am checking in periodically this week to see if there are any new threads, but I don't think I can handle any more draft analysis. I typed a few posts earlier today, and it was excruciating. What if what if what if what if.... What if I just don't talk about the draft until Saturday? :insane: |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
Best. Idea. Ever.
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
Geezzz...what a breath of fresh air - seriously!
How much more can we regurgitate the same hand full of names and possible scenarios? Trade up or trade down? I'm on board with this! |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
You've got a friend!
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
Signed as well.
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
we should trade springs for bly and swap picks with denver.this deal makes sense because bly is better springs.springs is old now and bly is the real deal.hail redskins!

We can't have people breaking the rules for "the sake of comedy." I think you might need some time to get your head straight. See you in three months. (PS- can you please ban yourself since I can't do it?) |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
I banned myself from the board yesterday until the draft was over. Hooskins called me out on it, and yes... I flaked. I couldn't resist. I'm not banning my self to anything else anymore.
With that said: I hope #6 is sexy enough to trade down. |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
Wait, is there something going on this Saturday? Somebody told me it's an important day for the NFL, but I have no idea what they are talking about...;)
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
Already came to this idea myself--this year has been nuts.
Isn't this saturday Arbor Day or something? Flag Day? |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
yeah...good call...every aspect of the NFL is overhyped anymore...its getting a little rediculous...why can't it just be football?
|

I'm in.
You guys have been insane this offseason. |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
It has been a very interesting draft year given the circumstances, but enough is enough. Time to hold on and brace for the post draft flood.
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
I counted, like, 20 different threads on the front page that are draft day related!
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
I'm in for that...no more draft threads except in the draft forum too
|
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
This makes me laugh...when I am sick of reading about the rumors, I go to another thread. What's even more amusing is that everyone here participates in those draft threads, and generally, those are the ones with the most comments. So, for as much as we are sick of it (and we all are) we are addicted to it, cause we are addicted to the Skins.
It's called self restraint. If you truly are sick of it, actually post on other comments and don't even read those draft threads. Instead of putting a negative connotation to this, I think we should all be proud that we have such devoted fans. We are so intrigued with the Skins, and they have become such a vital part of our lives, that we hang on every word that is spoke about them. Why? Cause the Skins are in all of us. We bleed burgandy and gold. I don't know about you, but I'm proud to say I am a member of the greatest team and fan base in all the country, and stuff like this proves it. Of course, you all have the Skins fans everywhere out there, to be a Skins fan out here is borderline dangerous. haha. |
Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
It was summed up for me when I read a post on a recent that stated (to paraphrase):
Geez, I wish this thread would die......and I started it! |

Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
We should all sign this but not let GTripp. Then we can sit back as he engages in heated dialogues with himself for the next several days.
Good GTripp: If you extrapolate the algorithmic intersection of the cosine over the absolute value of -5 during central time zone games in which Adrian Peterson ran a sweep left to start the 2nd quarter you can clearly see that his IPO value is exponentially better than Marshawn Lynch Bad GTripp: Yeah, but I kinda like Lynch. Good GTripp: I have a protractor and a TI-89 and I'm not afraid to use it Bad GTripp: Lynch 32 starts; Peterson 21 Good GTripp: <<Spontaneously combusts>> (I'm going to be at the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Modern Art this Saturday anyway, soaking in some culture!) |

haha...9 times out of ten they heard it from somewhere else and are regurgitating it here. Some fans are fanatical, and some are obsessive. It's the law of averages. ;) |

Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
I don't mind the draft talk to an extent, I just can't stand hearing about how the Redskins should get Calvin Johnson.

Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
Agreed. However, what's left to talk about? NFL Europe? I can no longer tell who each player plays for or tell which ones do not have a team and are looking to get brought in. The NFL has very little to talk about other then a specific CB for the Titans.lol. or majority of the Cincinati Bangles.lol. You've come this far....it's only 4 more days.lol. Then talk will revolve around why we should have picked someone else and who had the best draft. Oh and how we are going to the SB because of the picks we picked. I can tell you I'm checking all the sites for any new information all the time also.
I love the super secret no one is supposed to know, my friends mothers friend who works for the Redskins or ESPN has inside intell and I am obligated to tell everyone about it. " An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less until they know absolutly everything about nothing at all." We are now all EXPERTS.lol. |

Re: self-imposed ban on draft talk
I can't take it anymore either. As matter of fact, I can't wait until we can actually start talking about games rather than offseason hype!
