G Joe Andruzzi
Just saw on ESPN that he was released by Cleveland. Any stats on the guy? Is he any good?

Re: G Joe Andruzzi
He started for three Super Bowl teams in New England. He's gotta be pretty good. Isn't he the guy who's brother is a NY firefighter??
|
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
i would not mind having him

I think he had 3 that were right? And he ran on the field with the flags, cool site |
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
Wow. Southern Connecticut State?
How'd they find this guy? Edit: Drafted in 1997 by the Packers -- another gem unearthed by Ron Wolf. The "locker room leader" tag should get him a first class ticket on Redskin One. |
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
He really seems like a good fit for us--plus, I like that he was UNDRAFTED free agent. THis guy has Gibbs and Buges written all over him.
|
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
Yes, this guy is the one who had brothers that are NY Firefighters. I love this guy, I will be upset if the Skins, who have a hole at guard, do not heavily pursue him. He should be on a plane on his way to DC right now and they shouldn't let him leave without signing him.

Re: G Joe Andruzzi
I was wondering why the skins dont' bring in Dan Mozes from WVU. I didn't see that he was drafted. He earned the nations top center award and was a 3 time all american. He also was all american guard the year he was a redshirt sophomore. the last two years he played center. I couldn't believe the guy didn't get drafted.
|
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
Interesting--what's up with that? Is he injured?

I think I heard he signed with the Vikings |
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
now, with all the crappy players mentioned in other threads, i would give him a look. he definitely fills a need
|
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
Andruzzi used to be in those tom brady visa commercials (with the rest of the patriots line). Don't kno anything else about him, but it seems to me that if he left the patriots and the browns just released him, either we can't afford him or his talent level has seriously dropped off since his superbowl days.
|
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
without a doubt we should check this guy out...Did anyone see the mock draft in CNNSI and the comments below it? Some clown posted that we had a terrible O Line...

Ohh yeah, that's right. That was cool. |
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
Andruzzi is still good (not great) and the Brownies got Eric Steinbach. Andruzzi is better than anything we have and is a normal LG not someone trying to become one (Wade) or is unproven. I say bring him in let Wade be the backup at each spot.
|
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
I wish the Skins had had a 3rd round pick and picked up Samson Satele. He's gonna be a beast.

You mean better than anyone we have trying to take Dockery's place, right? I'd take Randy Thomas over Joe Andruzzi... |

I'd take Todd Wade over anyone OLinemen released by the Cleveland Browns. |
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
We don't need offensive guards. We need a legitimate DE or DT. That is it.

That'd be awful. Jenkins is an malcontent who's played 21 games in the last three seasons and is reportedly pushing close to 400 lbs. |

i knew that i just wanted to see what other people said but i wouldnt mind signing him if he could get back down to about 320 or so |

He did play all 16 games last season and went to the pro-bowl. He was hurt in 04-05, but has played every game in his 4 injury free seasons. I didn't know he was a malcontent... |
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
Jenkins has badmouthed this organization and is a big time injury concern. I want somebody who can actually contribute to the team next year.

He only said he didn't want to play for the Redskins back when he was at Maryland, and he's only had two injuries in his 6 year career, unfortunately they were both season-enders. As I said, he did play in all 16 games last year injury free... If I felt good about our D-line I would never even suggest this guy, but is Jenkins any more of an injury concern than Griffin or Salave'a? They are both always hurt. And Jenkins has pro-bowls on his resume... |
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
Bringing in Andruzzi would buy us some time on the O-Line for this year, and possibly next, if we could get him on a two year deal for just over the vet min. with a minimal SB. Sounds like he's a professional, he's been through the "wars" of getting to the playoffs, and beyond ... and did I mention he'd buy us a little time to develop a youngster?
Buges, you need to be marchin' into Coach's Office right away, and puttin' it to 'em like this ... "it ain't gonna' work goin' into the season with Wade at LG ... it ain't his natural position ... what were we thinkin' ... Geez" !!!! |
Re: G Joe Andruzzi
6'3", 315 lb -- bring him in! We haven't upgraded the D-line (and don't seem interested in doing so, according to Coach Gibbs); at least we can bolster the O-line. He can't expect a huge salary at his age and having been cut by the Browns and all.

Re: G Joe Andruzzi
i think the Skins eventually were waiting for someone of this caliber to be on the market whether it be now or post June1

My grandmother had this disease. Its gonna be rough. I wish him all the best

It can be very tough, but treatable. Hope he does well!

Good luck to Andruzzi...70 Chip great Curb reference, I was thinking that when I read the article. |

i hope he is alright

Re: G Joe Andruzzi
It couldn't hurt to add depth to the O-Line. I think wade is going to be great for use, but you never know if he will make smooth transition from Tackle to Guard. It couldn't hurt to have a guy with experience (playoff too) in a reserve role. He might even be able to teach Wade a thing or two. I say we take a look and see how much money he is going to demand.
