Just wanted to know some opinions on what expectations you guys have for this upcoming season.

I expect:

-I'll get to 6000 posts.
-TMC, in a durken stupor, will ban hessy for no good reason and lose his mod status ala another former mod.
-At least 7 more threads specifically about Brunellavaramsey will infect the board
-Schneed will yell at some people.
-SmootSmack will go crazy and shoot up ESPN HQ.

Oh and the Skins will be right aroun 8-8. Could be up to 3 games better or worse depending on the health of the team. We will go back to painfully losing to Dallas twice though. I think we had a nice karmic hex on the Tuna and now that he is gone the hex goes with him unfortunately.

My expectations for the upcomming season are to pass 3 kidney stones, be rushed to the hospital 6 times (NFC East Games) for alcohol poisioning, and polish off at least a case every game. That is the only way I will make it through another losing season.

I'm expecting 0-16, that way I won't be disappointed.

I really don't know yet. There are things I'm excited about and things I'm concerned about.

I think the offense has a serious chance to dominate, because Saunders' offenses always kick ass in their second year. Portis and Betts as a tandem is a serious threat. I think the team knows that they need to stick to a running type of identity rather than getting all cute like at the beginning of last year. And I'm excited to see Campbell get more comfortable in the offense.

But I'm concerned about left guard. How will that affect the line's continuity? And really, for the offense, it's all going to ride on Campbell. If he makes the leap, then our offense will be great. If he doesn't we'll be middle of the road. So on the offense, I can't predict anything till I see Campbell in some preseason games.

On the defense, man I have no idea. I am concerned about Marcus' health, that bears watching. I am excited to see the line getting aggressive on the QB, I think Carter's sack numbers will go up. But if they're rushing more, will we have a problem against the run? I worry how GW will scheme to stop the run if he's sending the ends up the field. I'm excited to see if Fletcher can make an impact as the QB of the D. He could be like Pierce, getting the line in the right position all the time. Or the line may just physically fold, I'm still concerned about Golston's size. I just have NO idea on the defense.

In the end, I guess I'm saying right now I have no idea whether to say 5-11, 11-5, or something in between. Ask me after the 3rd preseason game.

Matty, I always figure 8-8.... we seem to be in that ballpark and really haven't done anything to break out from the back of the NFC

This time last year we were talking SB, Don't let last year's results deminish your bold optimism. NFC east champs, 12-4 record, home field advantage, and no less than two playoff wins.........Now you see why I hate making predictions.

Yea, i dont really like making predictions either, i really had high hopes last season, and look how that went, so i am hoping for JC to have a good season, and hopefully the D can be a hell of a lot better than last year. Really disappointed me last year.

With a new QB that teams have already observed for a few games, I would expect the Skins to win 8 plus or minus 2 games.

As always I'll watch and cheer for the Skins ... but there are no real expectations for a super season. I hope they can prove me an unrealistic pessimist.

Realistically, I think were a 8-8 type team who if we catch fire and mesh well can be very, very good. I just need to wait and see them actually put together that type of a team consistantly before I get on the Super Bowl bandwagon I was on last year.

I've said it before and I think the offseason additions have only added to my opinion that we have a team that is capable of winning the super bowl, but health and JC's development are huge question marks.

That being said, I think the Pats win the super bowl.

My expectations are for somewhere between a 2nd Round of the playoffs exit to a 6-10 season. It will all depend on injuries. If we stay healthy i think we can put together a playoff team. If there are any major injuries or a combination of minor injuries we will lose close games again and have a season similar to the last one. We aren't exactly built for success, but complete failure is also a slim possibility

Expectations are premeditated disappointments. I was so hyped for last year, and it broke my heart to watch us stink it up the way we did. So I predict we'll play in 16 regular season games, and the team that scores more points will win.

8-8 you got to be kidding me you must be from the espn thinking we are going to be in last place. Joe gibbs wont let it get away this season he learned his leson! It's going to be a 11-5 season!

My "[B]expectation[/B]" for this is season is simple BETTER PLAYCALLING on BOTH sides of the ball. I remember the Jags game last year and how on point our playcalling was, allbeit a lil on the fancy side it was efftective. And i dont even need to go into detail about the defensive playcalling, ill just say it REALLY needs to improve!

I don't think he said the Pats would win "b/c they got Randy Moss." He just said the Pats would win. I agree. Their offseason has been too good to ignore. They always draft well, they have a great receiving corps now, they had a top 5 D last year, and with the addition of Adalius Thomas and draft picks it'll be as good or better... Oh yeah, did I mention Brady and Belicheck? I can't believe we have to go into their house this year. Yikes.

The Pats game is really going to tell us where we stand... I cannot wait! I personally feel we do match up very well with the pats as long as the DL can stop the run consistantly. It should be one hell of a game!

D_Line is a BIGGGGG concern IMO. We beefed up our secondary ENORMOUSLY but didnt address our line which tells me one of two things:

A. Our FO really IS retarded and were fucked for the next 5-8 years

or

B. GW and Co. see a little something extra in Montgomery and Golston that not many others have seen. Agreed, we had a lot of injuries last year to Salavea and Griffin but....they need to step the hell up.

I predict our offense explodes in a very Colts like manner. JC's repoire with the recievers should be better which will lead to a more potent passing attack which, in turn, will allow Betts and CP to run amok on people. FINALLY, this year Chris Cooley makes it to the ProBowl. He deserves it so much. I mean, name one TE in the NFC (besides Alge Crumpler) who deserves it more.

Maybe buy, God I hope not. I agree, as long as Eli stays in Ny and keeps bouncing passes in Burress' direction I think we have a pretty good shot at winning. Oh wait....NO MORE TIKI!?!?!?! I totally forgot!!!!!!

Haha. Yeah, that makes me imagine a lot of angry posters talking about how we need to get rid of Santana for a 4th round pick and how lost we would have been without comeback player of the year Brandon Lloyd.
