Holy crap that is crazy
Can you blame him? Those tight rascals won't spend a dime. Takes more than just a QB to win games. He's at the end of his career, I would think he would at least like to THINK he's got a chance to win a few games, by picking up a few players. |

He might be done in GB. But Farve isn't done quite yet, think if he would have been with a team like Chicago last year. That's exactly what that team needed a veteran QB that CAN still throw. Alot of folks said the same thing about Garcia, he didn't do to bad either. |

not to worry. I have a feelling he will be gone before the day is out.
Just 'cause his team has no tradition and can't point to championships from multiple decades is no reason to hate on him though. As for the original article, I wouldn't be surprised if it is just Farve venting. I would be surprised iff he went anywhere else to finish his career. |

Brilliant elucidation of your point. Incredilble obtuse in its presentation and totally lacking in either substance or literacy. An idiocy bordering on lunacy and consumed by bitter hatred of those better than him.
Clearly, someone about whom my signature is particularly relevant. (Oh and btw, - Delhomme? Yeah, he'll get it done. lol) |

Re: Brett Farve want's to be traded from Green Bay
I think he could help Chicago Tampa bay and
Minnesota. Unfortunately, to many teams that he could help are in Green Bay's division. What other teams could he help? |
Re: Brett Farve wants to be traded from Green Bay
Farve needs to retire especially if he doesn't want to ride his career out playing for GB. Even if he does get traded he'll sign a 'one day contract' to retire as a Packer. Lame. Go out on your high horse Farve even if you feel you're better than your team is.

How do you think he could possibly go out on a HIGH horse with GB? A QB can't win enough games to get you anywhere, it takes a team, which they don't have. Right now he is much better than GB, with NO surrounding cast. If he's going to play another year, it only makes logical sense to do it with a team that might have a chance. Which GB DOESN'T. |
Re: Brett Farve want's to be traded from Green Bay
that is a stupid thing to say
Actually, your out of hand comment lacks an intelligent response. My point is as follows: The Green Bay Packers have not been a contender for several years. It is a team that needs to back off and try to rebuild for a year or two. Brett Favre is a livining legend in GB (well deserved) and as long as he is still there, they will just keep trying to put a band aid on the problem to keep him happy.... What they need to do is rip the band aid off and let the wound heal for a season or two. Brett Favre still has talent and could be a contributor to MANY teams.... but wouldn't that be like Darrell Green deciding he wanted to play longer than the Skins would allow and going to finish up his years in Oakland? So, yes.... It is an intelligent school of thought that says Brett Favre should retire. Whether you agree or not... more importantly, whether Brett agrees or not.:soapbox: |
Re: Brett Farve wants to be traded from Green Bay
GB also has a QB by the name of Aaron Rodgers that NEEDS to get on the field. If I were in the rebuilding phase which they clearly are, I would want this QB of the future on the field.
I would not want to turn him into another Matt Schaub. |
I think he could help Chicago Tampa bay and

He loves the long ball; So does Davis. He'll only be around for, at best, another year or two. And J. Russell could sit for a minute and not get rushed into the starting line-up. Let's face it, Oakland's defense was border-line nasty last year. They had trouble punching the ball in the end zone, that's all. I think if Farve is really serious about leaving Green Bay, don't be suprised to see him in Silver and Black. |
Re: Brett Farve wants to be traded from Green Bay
1st of all, everyone it's FAVRE...not Farve.
2nd...I am disappointed in him. He IS Green Bay. They have made strides to keep him there and keep him happy. Dan Marino WAS the Dolphins, and Brett IS the Packers. He needs to realize how special he is to the orginization. What team will he take over and win with? The Colts? The Patriots? No good team would scrap their plans and let Brett win with them. He can't better his situation. Whether the Packers win 8 games or less, or win 10 games or more, he needs to finish out his career there, and realize that he may WANT to win, but his abilities now limit him to being a starter on about only 30% of the teams out there at best. Even if he came to the Skins, he wouldn't dethrone JC and even if Gibbs did allow that, he wouldn't learn our system that fast. So Brett, here is some advice...you are a great player, and one of the best of all time, you grew up with the packers and you will have a statue built for you. Focus on the records your about to beat this year (the hardest being the 3800 or so yards you need to pass Marino) and go out on top with the oginization that DID win you a super bowl. (something Marino never acheived.) You are a god in Green Bay, something almost every player imagines in their wettest of dreams. Enjoy it, and go down in history as one of the best QB's of all time. |

Sure, they love to throw deep, but their threats are no longer that potent. Oakland has a LONG way to go, and I guarentee GB will win more games than Oakland. He wants to win...remember???? So I would be completely surprised to see him go to Oakland. He will eventually come to his senses and realize that no team that has a shot at winning will allow him to start there. |
Re: Brett Farve wants to be traded from Green Bay
Being in Milwaukee and having Packers stuff plastered everywhere and in everyone, I couldn't believe even last year with all the retirement talk fans are starting to lose the love for Favre? I never thought that would happen anywhere in Wisconsin, and this could be the straw to break it, if he's turning his back on the packers he could lose the fans completely.

Re: Brett Farve wants to be traded from Green Bay
He is this upset because they couldn't land Moss? From my understanding, once New England entered the conversation there was no longer a chance for them to get him since Moss wanted to compete for a Superbowl. What did he think when he came back, that they were close? They are a mediocre team in the worst division in a mediocre conference. I just don't get this guy anymore.

i would want to be traded too |
Re: Brett Favre wants to be traded from Green Bay
I would think this is the best move for the club for FAVRE to get gone. They are long overdue to START the rebuilding process....the cheap bastards, it's gonna take quite a while for that process to happen.
The good news for them is they have a QB waiting in the wings that is a good starting point in Rodgers. |
Re: Brett Favre wants to be traded from Green Bay
as long as brett is their qb they should do what ever it takes to put together a championship team. they should pull a dan snyder and spend some money on some free agents. brett is still a very good qb, he is capable of taking them to another superbowl but he needs better players around him. if the packers want to be tight with their money and not try to "win now" then they should tell brett so that he can retire or maybe go to another team.
|
Re: Brett Favre wants to be traded from Green Bay
I just don't know what Favre was expecting. Maybe they could have gone after a few more players, even though it wasn't the greatest offensive free agent class. I mean, who should they have pursued? Stallworth? Favre fails to mention the role he played in alienating their best receiver, who had to be traded away.
Should they have spent 50 million on Dockery or Leonard Davis? Drafted a WR instead of Harrell in the first round and hoped he could contribute right away? I still fail to see how much Favre reasonably expected them to improve this offseason, and wonder why he came back given the fact that the team is not that close to even making the playoffs. Before he said that he just had so much fun last year he wasn't ready to hang it up. Now all of a sudden its superbowl or bust? |
Re: Brett Favre wants to be traded from Green Bay
we went this long and no one mentioned bringing him here? favre ought to kiss the packers ass for letting him keep coming back when he clearly should have retired 2 years ago, and maybe 3.
|
Re: Brett Favre wants to be traded from Green Bay
Farve would be a perfect fit for Chicago. I mean perfect. GB is still looking at between 7-9 wins as they are a middle of the pack team.

Why retire when you can still throw like Farve? If GB would put a good team around him they could still win with him. It's not like his skills have declined like Mark Brunell's. |
Re: Brett Favre wants to be traded from Green Bay
it has nothing to do with his skills. and everything to do with his decision making. takes way too many chances
