Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
I've gotten autographs by many of the current players and a good percentage of the starters. I've spoken to everyone that i've met but some don't last very long. Like i have 3 joe gibbs autographs but i really didn't say anything and the one time that i did he responded by saying, "yah".
I had a good 5 minute talk with sean taylor once so that would have to be it. I have two sean taylor autographs and the second time I saw him he actually recognized me from the first time. I want to see some of the old guys though. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
I am going to go WAY back! Billy Kilmer and Sonny were the absolute best! They both took the time to sign a few things for me when I was 6 (1976) over at my uncle's house while viewing a boxing match. Yes, both were loaded!!!

I think Tillman would be the hands down coolest .... and I have met the 2 Joes (Montana & Namath).... but I was asking more about the Skins. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
The interesting thing about this team.... is I havent met a current player that wasent a class act.
Sean Taylor was easily my favorite, though. |

I dont really go to signing events. I only really get autographs before and after games and at training camp. Its harder at training camp to get high profile players because of the crowd. GIbbs signs everyone at training camp though but it is impossible to get him at games. But yeah, i never really tried for old players. I have a charley taylor autograph but it means nothing to me because i didn't get it myself. I guess this will be the first if i go. |

Sean Taylor was easily my favorite, though.[/quote] Out of all the players i have met, chris cooley, sean taylor, ryan clark, and marcus washington were the nicest. I am sure cooley, clark and marcus would also be great to talk to but i didn't have a real long chance to with them. Sean Taylor is a real class act to talk to. I am not kidding. I always heard Williams talk about sean being a great guy and there was an article that came out when he was on trial about him being misunderstood but it didn't seem like he was going to be very friendly because of the trouble he'd been in. Sean talked to me about me. I didn't talk much football with him. He was talking to me about going to college and stuff. Real good guy. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
Joe Gibbs.
I spoke with him at a Bobby Labonte fan club outing several years ago. I had no idea he was going to be there and when I saw him standing behind me I got so excited I almost cried. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
I Met Chris Cooley Last Year At The Beach Blitz In Va Beach He Was A Really Down To Earth Guy
|
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
I met Theismann, Riggins, Monk, Dexter Manley and Dave Butz in Dallas in 1983. Stayed in the same hotel and got all their autographs and a photo with Joey T. GREAT guy!
Charlie Brown was a first class douchebag. The most pretentious, arrogant fuckstick. Riggo was cracking jokes and Dexter was like a big kid. Butz kinda scared me...hell, I was 16. |

That way you can help a good cause and meet him. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
When Ken Harvey was here he was far and away the nicest Redskin I ever met. (And the last good pass rusher they had also)

I agree Ken Harvey was one of the best... but he will never be recognized as that because he played in the Norv Turner era.... that is a time period most of us would like to forget... but a GREAT GUY |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??

I would have to say... Mike Sellers.
|
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
Living in Gainesville, Fl for the past seven years, I haven't met any current Redskins. I did meet Terry Allen at a Wizards game years ago, and he was really cool.
I have met Jevon Kearse several times. When he's back in Gainesville he loves to come into my bar for a chicken philly and a few miller lites. He is really friendly. Talkative, outgoing, looks you in the eye when he shakes your hand... Too bad he's an Eagle. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
No contest - JOE GIBBS.
|
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
chris samuels

Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
Hands down it was Chris Hanberger about 30 - 35 years ago.
Jurgensen was cool too, but Hanberger was THE best... |

|
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
My little brother has Chris Cooley's armbands from after a game. He was the shortest kid in the crowd and was like, "Chris! CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!" and Cooley took his armbands off and tossed them to him.
He wears them every game day. |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
Renaldo Wynn and Tony McGee!
Charles Mann is cool too, so were Danny Wuerffel, Kevin Lockett, and Dana Stubblefield |
Re: Who's the coolest that you met??
A wierd one for me- Terrell suggs and adalius thomas. They both went to the UNC vs UMD basketball game. I was sitting in the lower bowl for students and was with a pretty large group of friends. We had an early entry time and went for seats in the back of the bowl to make sure we could hold enough. We blocked off about 24 seats in 3 rows.
I like the back row b/c there is a wall that leads to the general admission seats above it. I like the wall so i can stand up and lean on it or whatever. Well here comes Suggs and thomas and they ask us "Where the first row". I looked at tickets and told them that i thought they were sitting right behind us. They thought the first row meant floor seats. I think they were kinda ticked off about it. They were directly behind me. I didn't want to bother them and my friends and I were the closest to them. The raven fans were all but jerking off in their seats. Throughout the game i heard them make stupid comments and talk on the phone and what not but i really didn't care because this was the biggest game of the year. We started talking to them a little bit and someone I knew was from detroit and one of them is from Detroit, so they got talking. So sometime in the late first half. My friend turns to me and says that they dropped a 20 dollar bill over him and it floated down. He turned around and they told him to go talk to some girls, about 8 rows up, for them and he would give him the money. My friend was like fine, whatever. Honestly, they dropped the money so disrespectfully that I would have not taken it so kindly. Well my friend didn't go to the girls (who i am saying were good looking but they make millions and are in the NFL and i am pretty sure they could do MUCH better) at half and went to get some food. While he was gone Suggs and thomas were talking about beating him up and whatever and i was jokingly telling them that they should. They were saying that they would give us 50 dollars to do the same thing. I told them that my friend would be back and he would do it. My friend got back and he did go talk to them. Needless to say the girls were a bit flattered and they kept on looking back at them but said they would see them after the game. Later a friend of a friend goes up to them and asks for an autograph. She isn't good looking but she isn't ugly, but she is a friend so whatever. They give her the autograph and as she walked away they called her an "ugly bitch ass ho". She didn't hear and we didn't tell her. The whole game they were acting like d-bags and sorta took away from the game when they were throwing money at us, and i take that offensively. At the end though they lightened up a little and i would give them high fives after things started to pick up. We rushed the court and while on the court we saw that the girls went up to them and they were getting friendly. Good for them but they are still jackasses. i just wrote quite a bit but i was just blabbing on so ooops. |
