Countdown to training camp

Vote and discuss in the latest Warpath Poll brought to you by the ghost of Joe Crisp.

GTripp0012 06-17-2007 05:43 PM

Re: Countdown to training camp

This is going to be a pretty lopsided poll, IMO.

Since the first two options are report based only, its got to be the relative health of this team. Portis being healthy is something we all expected, but usually by now, most teams have their eyes on guys with nagging injuries. We've been pretty fortunate injury-wise the past 3 months.

Right now, we're looking pretty healthy (knock on wood)

Who's this Joe Crisp guy?

Everything above EXCEPT......DAISY DUKE SHORT'S! Joe don't give your short's to the Capt.! We are in GREAT SHAPE!

Gotta be Campbell. QB is vital to make any team go. "Rex Grossman" anyone?

gotta be campbell on the offense. McIntosh and Rogers on defense

Re: Countdown to training camp

I guess I've become desensitized because everbody's been saying JC has made Redskin's Park his home. I chose Rocky's development, because of that as well as JC coming on strong after the few starts he had coming down to the end of the season

Re: Countdown to training camp

No doubt about, its all my JC. ONe thing we learned from the Saints last year is the easiest way to improve a team is to get better production from the quaterback position. If we are going to be a playoff team it will be the result of JC having a solid year. One thing is for sure, he's done everything he could to prepare himself!! Go Skins!!!

Campbell's development is encouraging. I think we all have good reason to be excited this year.

I agree. I voted "No major injuries" also. If we can survive the season without major injuries, everyone will be able to do their jobs easier. This will help Jason Campbell, as well as everyone else to be as productive as possible.

I wanted to vote for that one, but I had to go with JC. Kinda makes me wonder who actually did vote for it.

12thMan, any thoughts?

I'm going w/ the obvious and voting for Campbell. How can you not get excited about that? I think we may have found our franchise QB. I hope all the work he did in the offseason pays off.

Landslide victory for Campbell.

Re: Countdown to training camp

I went with Rocky because our D was just so God awful last year that we need all the help we can get.

Likewise, we gave up this year's 2nd round pick (and we all know that the 2nd seemed pretty loaded this year) in order to get Rocky so we really need him to be an impact player.

Re: Countdown to training camp

us redskins fans always have this never ending optimism. thats why i voted no injuries. i think this team has enough to make a playoff run, barring injury

Re: Countdown to training camp

McIntosh for me because we've heard all offseason about Campbell thats old news but it's good to see the skins use the talent they drafted and develop it. Second is the story of the gaurd situation.

Re: Countdown to training camp

Looks like I'm in the majority here in saying the "development of JC" because the success of the offense is going to depend greatly on how he progresses. Having started only seven games in his career, I know he's going to have his up's & down's. it's to be expected. I just hope he can be consistent enough to keep us out of bad situations, and learn to manage the game using his leadership skills.

So would you still love the shorts if he drops a touchdown pass to beat Dallas?

Re: Countdown to training camp

I voted for JC but we should also keep an eye out on this Wade experiment at guard. I think this has disaster written all over it. Buges had better have this guy Whittiker ready to replace Dock.

lol yeah. I'm 20 so I'm in college and working. That and I'm not too much of a Redskins buff when it comes to stats and such so I'd rather keep my mouth shut so people don't have to put me in my place.

...Unless it's Madden. (Cause, I'm a girl gamer!) So then we can talk. lol

My dad is predicting 16-0 with a superbowl victory so I think something special might happen this year (for the record he has picked 16-0 and the superbowl every year since I was born, but hey, he's gotta be right eventually).

Re: Countdown to training camp

I went with J.C. If he plays well the sky’s the limit. Rocky McIntosh is a close second are D really needs to bounce back from last year. I didn't really like shutting my eyes ever time are D was up against a 3rd down.

Anyone messes with you I'll put them in their place. Seriously though, just spitting out stats and metrics and variables, etc. all the time isn't all that impressive anyway. We can all look that stuff up ourselves. It's more impressive to be able to form your own opinions out of stats, what you've seen, gut feeling, etc. That's what's good about this board, the variety of opinions

My thoughts almost exactly. I have to agree w/peops here who voted for JC, but I voted for Rocky cause even if there were no news of JC at Redskin Park this offseason, I still believe based on last year & what I saw of him at Auburn, the kid is destined to be a winner.

IF GW is for real & Rocky is really on cue w/the D, I can't wait to see what a speedy olb will look like in b&g again. Maybe it's Lavar withdrawal?

Gotta be Cooley's short shorts...not the sort of image i needed to see, but it shows that the offence is very relaxed. Which hopefully means, they're in synch and ready to go!

At first I thought this post was all sarcasm, but then I thought about seeing Cooley dressed up w/CP et al in 05 during one of those thursday press conferences. When CP started doing that, the team went on a roll. Every team, like every workplace, needs a sense of humor & some sense of fun. So, good point!

Wasn't meant to be sarcastic. At this time of the year, if the guys were all serious and working all the time, like last year, i'd be worried that they weren't ready for the coming season.

Re: Countdown to training camp

we need Jason Campbell. he did ok last year but hes defiantly going to do better this year. and we need him because Brunell is really bad in my opinion. we also have santana moss who is a big threat downfield. JC and SM make and awsome team. but not so much with brunell. we know that he through those two huge touchdowns for a win against the cowboys. but hes getting very old. i still dont get why we did not trade him.

Re: Countdown to training camp

There's really no single position more critical to any team than the QB. So, while all the pieces around him are important, Jason Campbell is by some margin the key to the Skins success in 2007.

From all we've heard, JC is doing all he needs to do for a great season. I hope his progress continues through the pre- and regular seasons.

Go Skins!

What's to say -- just another typical Skins fan lurking on the Warpath for a couple of years now...

First introduced to the Redskins while stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA in the mid-sixties (remember Paul Krause, Safety?) Lived in VA for nearly 30 years beginning in '76, so I'm both a glory days and rotten days Skins fan. Now in Pawleys Island, SC, living the good life and keeping track of my favorite football team.

And thewarpath.com (sorry, redskinswarpath.com) lets me do that better than any site around. Thanks, guys. I promise to keep posts short, to the point, use correct grammar (and spelling), and have enough paragraphs to keep things readable.

SCRedskinsfan out.
