75th Anniversary Uniforms
 

I know most of you heard that we are supposedly wearing the Lombardi unis for a game or two this season, but when do they plan on announcing this? The Eagles came out with theirs like two months ago (by the way, they are the most hideous unis I have ever seen...haha). Anyone have any inside info? I can't wait to see them!

I saw a picture of the Skins locker room with the yellow helmets all lined up, I think we'll see them on a Monday night game or something. I haven't heard a formal announcement yet though.

Those are going to look sweet!! Thanks alot!! I guess we will wear the yellow pants as well. I hope that we would wear the burgundy jerseys, but I'm sure they'll go with the white. Thanks again!!

Is the team definitely going to wear throwbacks this season?
I think that Snyder would have been pushing another set of jerseys down our throats for months now if the team was going to be wearing them.

I'm not sure if it's just the helmets or what, but I'm pretty sure they will be wearing some sort of throwback for at least one game.

These are going to look shweet. I want to see burgundy jerseys with shiny gold pants, not muted gold.

I'm all for that, but I'm just surprised they're not marketing the living sh*t out of the anniversary (I did see some stuff at the team store the other day but not all that much).

I remember joking around 5 years ago that the Skins are probably one of the few teams that would make a big deal out of the 70th anniversary and that in 5 years (now) they'd have a whole new set of throwback stuff to sell us.

I never liked the yellow helmets with the "R". Love the Skins, hate the yellow and "R". I'd rather see a real throwback to the single feather up the back of the helmet. It reminds folks of our NFL Championships back in the early years.

I hope they just wear them once or twice. The old school yellow helmets will blind some folks if it is a sunny day!!! I think the deep burgundy with the arrow helmets are a lot better to be honest. They had a retro yet modern look to them.

The rumor I've heard is that we're wearing them on opening day....I really doubt we'd wear them on Monday Night when were not playing at home...

I believe there is a rule that only home teams can wear alternate uniforms. But I noticed that Carolina had worn their powder blue alternates on the road last year I believe it was in Tampa.

I'd give my right leg to see them play in Leather Helmets just for 1 game. That would be so bad ass. Other team shows up in full gear and we run out and whoop their buts with leather helmets and bloodied noses.

But now that the 75th anniversary is here and it would cause problems for them if they called it the 75th anniversary jersey because the skins obviously are not going to wear anything that looks like that, they have to call it the 50th anniversary jersey

Obviously the uni is on G.P. Marshall but it reminded me of a line about Baugh: "He use to show up at camp every year year with a new suit and a 5 dollar bill and didn't change either all season."

The yellow helmets and yellow pants were Vince Lombardi's contribution to the Skins. The Skins wore true burgundy and gold and the spear helmets, before his arrival. Lombardi basically made the Skins look like the Packers but with maroon instead of green. I'm not a fan of that look but I do like the 5 stripe pattern on the jerseys and socks and the yellow pants better than the current 2 stripe jerseys and white pants.

The true burgundy and gold uni's with the spear helmet are the best, though.
