Obstructed View Seating ????
All,
I'm trying to get 3-4 tickets for the season opener, however most of the tickets I'm seeing are labeled "Limited View", and then it has a percentage by it. Section 216, Row 22 is what I'm looking at now, but I don't want to get a ticket that has be behind any support beams. For those of you that have been to the games, let me know what I can expect from these seats. I really don't want to spend the money and get shitty seats. All advise is welcome. Thanks, |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
I can't believe they sell seats like that.

Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
I once bought these "premium tickets" only to find them obstructed...i'd caution against getting them at any price- i couldn't see deep passes, punts, kickoffs, etc (due to being so far under the second tier)...i'm sure they've improved services (when i was there we didn't know the score, down, time, etc) but still, but i believe its a huge scam.

Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
From what I understand, any rows numbered after 12 are obstructed and limited view. Row 22 will most likely put you deep in "the cave".

Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
GOD AWEFUL! Better off at home IMO, I can't believe they can actually charge for those AWEFUL SEATS.
If you buy those your buying shitty as they come seats. |

Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
I've personally never sat in these seats, but I've turned around and seen those poor poor people. I do know that they have plenty of tvs to watch. IMO if your going to watch the tv that they provide, why not just stay at home and save your money on tickets, beer, food, and no lines for restroom.
It all depends on how badly you want to be IN Fedex. My advice is to avoid the obstructed view seating. I'd just keep looking for upper level seats because, while you might be far back, at least you don't have a beam or the ceiling blocking your view. |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
Uh. I am one of those people who want to be at the game 'really bad'...

Well at least you can't say we didn't warn you. Good Luck. |

What a ripoff |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
There are some obstructed view tickets that only obstruct your view of punts. They are way back in there but you can see everything.

Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
I've sat up there a couple times. What you do is, you scout out some empties down below and sit there. If asked to move, repeat until you find a seat that is really empty. If an usher confronts you, play dumb. "What? These aren't my seats? Blah, blah, blah."
What are they asking for these seats. I knew a guy who got seats back there for like $29 bucks game last year. Then he would just move to better spot - which got a lot easier as the season went on. |

Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
Can you imagine buying season tickets and finding out they're obstructed view.
I'd prefer to watch the game on a big screen t.v. in a bar. |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
98% of them blow, a small handful are very good. Buyer beware.

Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
i was in obstructed seating for jacksonville last year. i couldn't see anything from the 40 to the 40. it wasn't great by any means. but i'm also the kind of person that just wants to be there.
it wouldnt be bad if the tv broadcast was the same direction as the action on the field from that perspective. it'd be like moss going for a TD and i have to change my pov. if that makes sense... |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
The only reason DS sells seats like this is because he can get suckers to buy them. Why anyone would pay their hard earned $ for a seat with a partial view of the action is beyond me. If you want atmosphere find a good packed bar and watch on a big, clear tv there. Or invite some buddies over and watch at home but dont give Ds $ for his junk seats.

Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
I had the opportunity to get a "VIP Tour" of FedEx about 18 months ago. Because I had heard about the "obstructed view seats" and the complaints they caused, I found a way to go and sit in a couple of them and look at the field.
If you want to see a game very badly, then buy those seats because that's exactly how you'll see the game. You will get a better view of the game on a 17-inch black and white portable TV with rabbit ears for the antenna. Caveat emptor. |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
Don't do it!
Pay the money sit in a good seat. If you're only going to 1 or 2 games in a season make it count. Have fun. Those seats should be given to the blind only. Snyder could not have pulled that shit off if Gibbs wasn't in town. Those seats are total garbage and I'd rather sit on my couch. |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
If you can get there, obstructed view or not, be there. I'd never been to an NFL game before I moved here last fall, in fact I thought I'd actually prefer to find a sports bar and watch it with fellow Skins fans. But there is nothing like being there. I think just about every stadium has obstructed view seats that they sell at a minor discout, its a good way to get in the game and as 70chip says you just scout it out and move down. There are tons of no-shows every game, its just a matter of finding an empty seat and an usher who's cool enough to let you sit there.
And on a cold day, I'd love to find someone in my seat. Cheapest seat warmer ever! |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
I'd rather stick with my couch and the games in HD on my plasma. :)
No obstructed views at all. |
Re: Obstructed View Seating ????
I lucked out, about 5 or 6 years ago my friends finally got the call that their time on the waiting list was over (their dad signed up so long ago that he actually didn't want the tickets when they got to him, but his two sons did).
Now it's to the point where I get first dibs for the whole season so I get to go to about 5 or 6 games a season without having to worry about getting really crappy seats. It's good stuff. |
