Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
Going into training camp, what's one thing you are willing to 'guarantee' about this season? Nothing outrageous like, NFC Champs or 16-0 but something that, homerism aside, you truly believe for '07.
I'm going to guarantee we finish higher than the Giants in the division. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
10-6 or better.
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
At least a Wild Card spot in the NFC
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
11-5 and hopefully win the division.
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
JC will be no less than an alternate on the Pro Bowl team
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I guarantee our defense will play better than last year -- top 15.
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I see us going 10-6 again and making the playoffs. Jason Campbell will make big strides this year. The defense will play better.
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I will yell at Gibbs at least once his season for punting on 4th and 2 from the 50 late in the 4th quarter even though we're down by 2.

wow, ghetto. really going out on a limb? i predict playoffs. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I guarantee Cooley finally gets the pro-bowl nod he's been deserving for the past two seasons. I'm not saying he'll be the starter because the fan voting is a bunch of BS, but he'll be on the roster. Finally.
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I will get kicked out of Fed Ex field (damn asshole attendents)
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I'll provide BBQ for more than 1 Redskins player's parties. I've been told to expect a call from Cornilius Griffin for a party before the season starts at his home here in Virginia. That party will put me on the Redskins Radar.
We'll win the Division. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I'll guarantee:
- Andre Carter will get at least 10 sacks and Phillip Daniels at least 6. GW is turning the ends loose. - The defense will rank in the bottom 16 against the run. - The defense will rank in the top 16 in takeaways. - JC will have a QB rating higher than 85. - Brandon Lloyd will be a disciplinary problem. - The offense will rank in the top 3 in rushing. As for the record? No guarantees, but I think the things I listed above give us a real good shot at playoffs. |

Any further and the damn thing was gonna break! ;) Really, I just don't like guarantees -- especially in football. Injuries change everything. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
Clinton Portis will play less than 11 games due to injury.
Mark Brunell will be the starter by week 9. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I guarantee I'll throw something at the TV at least once this season, after Ladell Betts breaks a 30+ yard run and is stripped from behind, 10 yards from the endzone...
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
Coach Gibbs will say one of the following after a redskins loss: "they fought their guts out", "great group of guys", or "im really proud of this team"
|

Stacks, you have the only prediction thats 100% certain to come true. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
Clinton Portis will play less than 11 games due to injury.
Mark Brunell will be the starter by week 9.
Love the optimism as usual. Are you actually looking forward to the season? |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
Love the optimism as usual.
Are you actually looking forward to the season?
Very much. This is a crucial season for the Redskins and if Gibbs & Co. cant get the job done I suspect JG will step down. I do hope they get it done. I think it will be very interesting and exciting to see what happens. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I guarantee that Portis and Betts are the top rushing duo in the league.
I guarantee that we WILL see Mark Brunell in some function in a game this year (whether that's mop-up duty remains to be seen). I guarantee that Rocky McIntosh ascends to the best linebacker on our team. I guarantee that Sean Taylor leads all safeties in interceptions. I'm going out on a limb, but if they turn out to be true, I'm going to look so S-M-R-T...I am so smrt. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I guarantee:
-I will drop an F bomb at least 724 times this season. -Someone will fumble at a crucial time leading to the other team's game winning points scored. (this will account for over half of my F bombs) -Lloyd will double his productivity. -JC will throw 20+ TD's -Landry won't play until week 6 |

Yet your guarantee is Portis getting injured and Brunell playing? Do you not have any confidence in JC? Humor me, say something positive. |

Humor me, say something positive.
JC is a "rookie" QB who so far has looked gaood and bad. I think JC has a strong arm. I just think that if the season begins like last year and the skins let a few early chances slip away, JC plays shakey (like most young QBs) and suddenly they are 2-5 and the season looks like its slipping away JG will go back to his boy Bruenell. I dont expect this to happen but that is my Brunell comeback scenario. |

Peyton Manning looks average at times and JC is no Petton Manning (yet). |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I say JC comes roaring out of the gate and looks nothing like a rookie.
|

Right. I'm not talking about whether he's a good or bad quarterback. He has a lot more to prove before labeling him. But performance-wise, I don't think anyone could point out where he's actually looked bad. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
Peter King will "compliment" the Redskins, but call them them worst team in the division.
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
Brud, that reminds me. You've had all offseason to work on a Power Poll, where is it?!
If you don't have one, it's been like bad sex without the payoff. And THAT makes me cranky. |

Thats what going to have to happen for your predicted 10-6 finish. |

Nah, with a strong running game and an improved D he won't have to do it all by himself. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
JC will scramble for 200 yards. Throw for 25 Tds and 10 Picks
Portis and Betts will run for 2200 yards. Cooley won't make the Pro Bowl Again. Sean Taylor, Santana Moss, and Marcus Washington will. Defense will rank in the Top 10 again. Top 10 in Take Aways. We will go to the playoffs. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
Landry will start week 3
4-2 in the division 9-7 In the wild card, with atleast one playoff win All guarentees....just the minimum's |

I am concerned that with essentailly the same team as last year how they can improve that many games. The running game will be stronger if CP can stay healthy but I'm not sure about the improved D. |
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
I'll give you two reasons. Subtract one Adam Archuleta. Subtract one Warrick Holdman.
|
Re: Your 2007 Redskins guarantee
The D has some key changes. I think there's plenty of reasons to expect that they will improve.
Exit Marshall, enter Fletcher at MLB, that alone should be a nice improvement. Rocky steps in at one LB spot, Springs is hopefully healthy, we have improved depth at CB with Smoot and Macklin. Landry should step in right away and help to solidify the strong safety spot. Griffin should be healthy, Golston and Montgomery have a season under their belts, and GW has revamped his schemes and is going to turn the defensive lineman loose. I just don't see a Gregg Williams defense in the tank for 2 straight seasons. He'll get it turned around. |
