OK, so youve clicked the link and seen that its the new jersey for my hurricanes and not a 75th anniversary jersey. But to be fair I didnt say Redskins jersey. Nike partners with the Canes to try out new uniform designs. Theres a lot to be said for teams like Penn State that never change, but I like the refreshed look every two years or so as well. So now that Ive got your attention I just thought I would start a thread to say Hi! I havent been on the site and responded much in recent months, and Im sure you all missed me. My house has been under construction so I havent been goign online, but im in San Diego right now so I had some time and wanted to catch up with everyone. So Im going to create a few topics for fun. First, and whats most appropriate for me, I pose this question, "Who will be next next Miami Hurricane to play for the Redskins? ---Well, Ill give a two part answer. First is through the draft. Do we take a guy like Javaris James, Edges brother, next year and try to prove that 3 backs is better than two! Probably not. So heres my fun and bold prediction. After this year, Devin Hester clearly deserves more than the second round money he is getting paid, and he will prove this year by playing ironman football that he should have been a top five pick. The bears cant afford to give him what he wants, and hes got all the flash that Danny Boy loves so we trade a frist round and third round pick to get him. Next Question, which Hurricane will have the best year for us this year on each side of the ball? --- Im going to go with Portis on offense, and surprisingly, Rocky on defense. Heres why, Portis has more to gain from Campbells improvements that Moss does. By not having ten in the box Portis will run free. And on defense, Rocky is poised to turn heads this year. Hes going to have a ton of tackles, big hits and plays. Dont get me wrong, Taylor is the highlight real for our defense. And in all fairness Taylor is going to benefit greatly from having another safety by him, but Ill take Rocky to start some arguments. Last question, Did ya miss me?!?!?! lol |

Ed Reed, Edge James, Santana Moss only taylor and merriweather and no one was convicted of anything. |
Re: New Uniforms for 2007!
Hopefully the new uniforms won't have the same cheap white see-through pants.
Welcome back SnC. |
Re: SnC Returns to Remind Everyone He Loves All Things Hurricane
Welcome back. So you're in SD now?
I edited the thread title so as not to mislead people. Cute while it lasted, but highly misleading |

He could get up to 15 years. Bryan Pata (lineman) shot and killed. Of course, Sean Taylor. Anthony Reddick was of course the worst one of that brawl, but 13 total UM players were suspended. Of course that idiot Lamar Thomas agreeing that the brawl was a good thing. Kellen Winslow and his little run ins with the law. Of course he got injured from one of his dumb acts. Warren Sapp tested positive for drugs while at Miami. Micheal Irvin...do I really need to say another word? Since their first National Championship after the 1983 season, the University of Miami Hurricanes have had more players arrested than any other Division I College Football program. |
Re: SnC Returns to Remind Everyone He Loves All Things Hurricane
welcome back. and as far as I'm concerned, the skins cant have enough players from the "u". and it seems like Miami gets new uni's every year

Who gives a shit. When you play the U they beat you up. It is no surprise that they lead the league with alumni. |

Hey, they definitely get some talented players down there...but with that talent, they get people not fit for society. |

Not sure where you're getting 15 years from? And why are you basically punishing Bryan Pata for getting shot. It was a jealous girlfriend if I remember correctly. Either way, if you're presuming that he must have been some sort of thug that deserved to get shot I'd advise-strongly advise-you not to. Warren Sapp tested positive for the same drugs that you speak so highly (no pun intended) of all the time |
Re: SnC Returns to Remind Everyone He Loves All Things Hurricane
I guess Miami has become "Thug" U in the minds of some.

If I posted the name (which I forgot) no one would know who it was. So I posted the players name. Seriously, Davenport was from 2002. I just read that like 2 weeks ago. Damn, where have I been? I know what he tested positive for...just pointing it out. Fact remains, no other Div. 1 team has a worse history with the police. |

You shouldn't make claims like "worse history with the police" without having something to back up your claim though |

It's nice to be the best. Over the past 25 years, they have gotten the best players, won the most games, and had the most on-field and off-field criminal incidents of any team in College Football. No matter who their coach is, or who their players are, the team seems to have a serious knack for producing athletes that get into lots of trouble.[/i] I don't care what cane has to say...the facts are there. Hey, they are mega talented, and mega troubled at the same time. These problems will continue to exist cause Miami is a breeding ground for trouble. |

Re: SnC Returns to Remind Everyone He Loves All Things Hurricane
all you cane haters should read the SI article by stewart mandel after the brawl.
To quote him: "You might not believe this -- you might not want to believe this -- but over the past decade, Miami has had fewer player arrests or NCAA-related incidents than almost any other major program in the country. Miami has not had 20-plus incidents involving shoplifting, assault, gun charges and failed drug tests over the past two years, as Tennessee has. Miami has not had to dismiss a star player for earning money through a phony job, as Oklahoma has. Miami has not had a star linebacker accused of sexual assault on the eve of its bowl game as Florida State did last year. And Miami's most recent Academic Progress Rate (956) placed it in the top 20 to 30 percent of all Division I football programs." I know this contradicts an earlier post, but it's true. It's all about the U baby! |

Re: SnC Returns to Remind Everyone He Loves All Things Hurricane
VT has plenty of players get in trouble with the law. I do think it's 2 less than UGA and 3 less than Miami but 2 more than LSU and 6 more than USC. They are tied with OSU, Michigan and UT IIRC.
