Warpath Background
 

Let it be known that my vote goes to keeping the site clean and free off backgrounds and flashy images. It make the site less enjoyable and hard on the eye.

So are you saying you don't like the new background or are you saying don't add anything else?

I dont think this quite qualifies as a "flashy image". I know what you're saying though. I have confidence this won't turn into that other skins site.

You'll never see anything flashier than this I guarantee.

A new look always takes a bit to get used to, I've been working on the change for the past few hours and it just keeps growing on me.

The new logo is going to look sweet on a t-shirt.

I like it. Its nice to have a logo. if you ever need any help I worked as a graphic designer for a while

I dont think its flashy at all because the background of the area that has text is always white. Keep up the good work matty, as always let me know if you need any help.

It gets my vote. Saden1, buy some sunglasses.

I have to admit I was pretty suprised to log on again today and find the site with a new background and logo, but I have to admit I like the background coloring, the topic bar and the logo is pretty sweet. I'm sure it'll take a little getting used to but it gets 2 :biggthump from me (like that matters, lol).

I really like the redskins helmet going through the menu bars.

If anybody has a serious problem with it I can give users the option of using the current setup or the old one. Just let me know if that's something you'd be interested in.

Love it Matty (and Summo!), it looks great. I liked the old design, but it was beginning to look a little dull and drab. This one looks a lot sharper and livelier, while still maintaining the clean lines and avoiding clutter (unlike "that [i]other[/i] Skins site"!). Great job!

I dig the new background.I have always liked the spear logo and dont think it is hard to look at.keep up the good work.

I too, Like the new background. I dont think its flashy at all, its just a nice updated classy look.

Looks good. Change is good. Looking at the same things over and over can get old. It is nice to spruce things up around here every once in a while.

When I first opened up the site, I thought something was wrong. Didn't like it. But after ony 2 minutes, I find that I REALLY like it. Clean, classy, energetic. The spear makes it look like we're in moving forward. Makes a statement for my Skins. Thanks!

If you don't like the new look, just go to your user control panel. Then, on the left menu go to options, scroll all the way down to the bottom and from there you can select which skin you would like to use. The default one is the old look. Enjoy.

Or, I just noticed an even easier way. Scroll to the bottom of any page and you'll see a quick style chooser pull down menu.

Thanks for the choice Matty. I'm sticking with the old look, it's much easier on the eye and you hardly notice the background which is the way it should be I think.

I can understand that some prefer the old look, but I think if you give the new look some time you'll grow to like it just as much, if not more. We still have some tweaking to do, so give it a little more time if you can.

Personally I really like it.

i LOVE the new title bars, but prefer a milder background ;) either way, its cool.

btw, you need to redo the buttons like post reply, they're anti-aliased to white/light grey, and you get nasty borders with the tan-ish background.

yeah with this look new buttons are definitely in order

Well, I’m glad a lot of you like the new look. Thanks matty for giving us the option to use the old look though.

Im sure this is a work in progress matty, but as of right now it doesnt all match up that well. Its lacking continuity accross teh different elements. The buttons I assume you have to remake and just havent done it yet. But I would think twice about having a different image in each of the different sections. Another thing, the bar at the bottom, with contact us, the warpath, archive, etc, is bigger then the image, so its you can see part of the helmet starting again. If I were you I would make an image that the size of the different elements, not just tile a logo. If you want any help let me know. It doesnt really matter to me, im just here for the board, but I know a lot of people are here because its the most professional looking board. There are ways to add a new logo and what not and keep it professional, im sure thta you will get it all worked out in a fwe weeks and you work on everything. As always I appreciate your work on the site.

oh, another thing I just noticed incase you hadnt. You cant read the number on the posts, that number what post it is. Ex, this is post 25 but you cant really see it. Just thought id let you know incase you hand not seen that yet.

I'm thinking solid title bars might work best. Like you said, right now we're a work in progress.
