Skins 75th anniversary patch Jersey ripoff
 

I am not a tightwad by any means, but it seems a bit excessive that the 75th anniversary replica jerseys (84.00) are $15.00 more than the regular replica jerseys (69.00). Its the same damn jersey with a patch glued on it. Guess the danny cant ever cut us fans a lil break.

Also its my 200th post! and it only took me 2 years.

i'd live with this if danny boy could give us cheaper water at training camp. I don't know how much it is for sure but last year it was like 3 bucks so i didn't even look for it yesterday. I'd rather die by the heat than pay that. I mean, we are the fans. The real fans going to training camp. Its not like he can't sell it for 2 dollars in 102 degree temps.

Every team does crap like this, they put out a new jersey or throw a patch on it and hike the price. It's not exclusive to the Redskins. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Very simple. You can't be milked if you don't allow yourself to be.

Wow sounds like everyone here is drinking the Redskins kool-aid. The way the (the danny) built the skins into one of the most profitable franchises is on the backs of the fans. How else can you explain the fact that that skins are at the top of franchises after only having 3 playoff appearences is the past 15 or so years? This is yet another example, maybe I should cancel my season tickets, or stop drinking water at training camp. All im saying is treat the fans with a little respect.

There's nothing about kool-aid here, it's very simple. If you don't like it, don't pony up the $$ for it. Seriously, what's so hard about that? The people that are getting "ripped off" are the ones that are willing to pay the money. It's all about what value you place on something. I guarantee that even at the increased price, those new jerseys will sell like crazy. It's simple economics. The price is right for enough people to warrant that price, otherwise they wouldn't be able to charge that price.

Are they sending you a bill for the patches? No. Stop whining, nothing wrong is being done here. If they didn't release jerseys with the anniversary patches, people would be asking where they are.

Buy it or keep your money and quit complaining. Every team does this. If you want to complain about merchandise, complain about the NASCAR drivers who change paint schemes every few races. :D

Of course, even then, the fans CHOOSE to buy the newest stuff or not to.

If you want the Redskins to lay off marketing and ways to generate revenue, we'll be the Pittsburgh Pirates or Kansas City Royals of the NFL.

If you haven't caught on by now then don't know what to tell you. Danny Boy did this 5 years ago with the 70 greatest Redskins crap. And in another 5 years it's going to be 80th greatest Redskins crap.

If you ever go to a game and sit in the club section you really see the marketing machine that Snyder has built. Advertising is EVERYWHERE. They even hold concerts after the game. The idea is to keep you there as long as possible so you keep spending money. I went to one game in the club section last year and I must have spent $150 that day. Simply ridicules.

They aren't "raping" you or any other fan. The reason that Snyder charges what he does for everything is that he is maximizing the amount of income for his product and there continues to be demand for everything that he sells.

He spent hundreds of millions on this team and can do whatever he wants with it. Are you upset that he has turned it into the most valuable franchise? I guess that you are also upset with the demographics of our area. I can't help you there.

Just for the record so people can stop complaining, I wonder if you noticed the "Actual Style May Vary" disclaimer at the bottom of the picture. Go to NFLShop.com and you will find the new style. They DO have a pretty cool looking jersey this year, but they only show the white ones. They have a Moss replica and they also have a Campbell and Taylor replica, a Campbell and Portis "repli-thentic", and a Taylor and Campbell authentic, and for a cheaper price than Redskins.com. Just type in Redskins 75th anniversary in the search bar at NFLShop.

Does anyone know what the "premier" 75th anniversary jersey is? It costs 99.99 as opposed to 84.99 replica. There is a 15% off thing right now if you spend over a 100. I think the 99.99 would apply.

Is the premier like the EQT jerseys? I would get one for 100, if so.

Just from these pictures, I notice the premier has elastic on the sleeves, is stitched instead of screen-printed and has a smaller anniversary patch (is that more accurate maybe?) Also, the sizes run in numbers like the pro jerseys (48,52,54...) and the cheaper one says XL for whatever that's worth. Maybe more sizes are available in the premier?

I'd never spend that much on a jersey but if I did, I'd pay the extra for the premier. ;)

i think i might get the premier. I want a campbell, cooley, landry, and washington jersey. Now i need to just figure out which. I think i can justify spending $85 on it with that 15%off. I'll probably go Campbell.

I agree about paying the money for the jerseys. I bought a 70th anniversary replica of smoot when they came out and the jerseys had patches that were nice and sewn on. I bought a custom replica of the 75th anniversary and Kenny Houston's number and name on the back. The patch look like some sort of iron on. It is rediculous.

Yes I bought the Jason Campbell EQT jersey. It is pretty good. I bought it on EBAY for 80bucks. I wasn't complaining at all.
