If the Redskins right now had to cut one (and only one) player from the following list, who do you think they should cut?

Rock Cartwright
Phillip Daniels
Ade Jimoh
Pierson Prioleau
Joe Salavea
Renaldo Wynn

It's a tough list, but I had to let Rock go. Almost said Wynn, but I think he could be useful. Cutting Rock would, of course, be contingent upon being comfortable with another KR which I am not based on what I have seen. He's not exactly Mike Nelms himself back there though. Someone could surely fill that role. Maybe Betts if Portis gets healthy. I guess that's another issue.

Also, I don't know how Daniels or Pray-Low can even be on the list. Now they will both probably get the axe.

I gotta say Jimoh. He hasn't looked good at cornerback this preseason, he didn't look good at cornerback last season, and he's honestly not such an awesome special teamer that we absolutely need to keep him. We have depth at cornerback with Smoot and Macklin and Butler.

Well, if they were going to do something with Wynn/Daniels/Salave'a, they would have done it by now. Besides, Williams has already defended the D-line by saying that they were all injured last year. That, along with the fact that they didn't bring in anyone for any sort of competition makes me believe they're gonna try to squeeze at least one more season out of the geezers.

Cartwright performs well on special teams, which means the Gibbs Coaching Staff loves him. I've seen nothing from Blaylock or Marcus Mason that should scare Cartwright. He's not going anywhere.

To me, it was between Prioleau and Jimoh. But since many have said that the secondary woes started the moment Pierson went down on the season-opening kickoff last year, that would indicate a lot of people within the organization feel he's pretty valuable.

I say the ax will finally fall on The Ade.

Although Rock and Ade are the only 3rd stringers on the list, they do provide solid special teams play. So I would have to say one of the back up Dlinmen. Either Wynn or Salave'a. Considering that we are stronger at DT than at DE, I would go with Salave'a.

IMO I believe that Vernon Fox (though not on the list) should go before any. Safety is by far our strongest position, but releasing Prioleau is not the answer.

Yeah, Fox wasn't included because the idea was to try to pick a relatively "suprising" cut. Fox won't be too surprising

Jimoh is on the hit list be because we're pretty stacked at CB. As for the rest of the players, we're pretty thin in the positions they play and unless some of the younger guys step up I don't see the Skins releasing any of them. If Montgomery meets or beets expectation Salavea might become expendable.

none of the above. I would say the ade but i am pretty sure by the laws of physics that man cannot be cut.

Jimoh would have to go! Hasen't looked very good. Rock would be next on the list and just might be.....I think it's gonna be a real challenge for him to make the team.

Out of that list, from a pure business standpoint, I'd say Rock. Not a bad player by a longshot, but I don't think he provides anything special that someone else can't do just as well.

Personally, I don't think anyone from that list will be cut but I understand the thread's intention.

Tough list. I voted Wynn, but after taking a peek at the roster I don't think we have anyone coming off the bench at DE. So I think he stays for that reason.

When are we ever going to get tired of voting Ade off the team? It's not going to happen - ever. If him making the roster was a matter of him playing corner well, he would have been gone ages ago. Ade makes this team because he's a special teams demon. You can count on at least three jarring hits from Ade every year. I don't think this one will be any exception.

Again, Rock makes it because of teams. Who's going to return kicks? He did a pretty good job for us last season, and Gibbs hasn't forgotten about that.

So I think we're down to Salave'a or Pray-low. I hate to keep beating the same drum, but Pray-low was brought here because he plays teams and versatility, and I think he stays, at least another year or two, because of that.

I'm thinking Big Joe S. may be the one. If there were a surprise cut from the list, I'd pick him. Let's keep an eye on the kid Alexander for the remaining two games. If he can outshine Salave'a, I think we may have a keeper.

Honestly, I can't pick one of these guys. I'd like to keep depth at every defensive position and Cartwright was one of the best KRs in the league last year.

It would depend on health I guess. Priileau is back 100% right? How's big Joe?

No love for the Ade...

I picked Rock, although it was a tough choice. He's a great Special Teamer, and has been a very good returner. However, depth at the other positions (where he's a 3rd string RB) is important. Whereas Rock can be replaced pretty easily at RB by Blaylock.

I'd cut Ade, but he has the special teams upside. I can't remember seeing Wynn do anything of worth in the pre-season. #77 Chris Wilson has looked good at the DE spot, so he'd be a better backup than Wynn and cheaper.

I don't think that Jimoh is going to be on the team. We have so many guys back there. Daniels, Wynn, Pray-lo, and salavea we need. Just for depth. Daniels is our starting LE or RE? I'm not sure about Rock but if they cut Jimoh, Rock can fill his shoes on Special Teams.

i voted rock. it seems like people around here have short memories. Ladell Betts is a very good kick off returner. against Tampa, in the infamous elbow game, took one about 95 yards for a touchdown. bye bye rock( its so sad to see you go)

I've never understood why there is an AdeJimohFanClub, except if he (Ade) actually comes here. He knows we bash him, and I think he's cut. He will probably re-surface on here however, as Prelowfan. Kind of like SmootSmack/aka/TAFKAS/SmootSmack.

If I had to choose, I'd say big Joe since there are a couple younger guys at the position that could do the job there...I dont think we have any defensive ends that will scare Daniels/Wynn....Rock isnt and shouldnt be going anywhere, ditto for Preiloiu....I could see Ade going too given how deep our secondary is.

In all honesty all of those guys have a good shot at being next. I do like Cartwright though and I think Ade Jimoh should stay around only for the purpose of special teams.

I think we actually might see some surprising cuts if the front office is truly committed to getting Cooley resigned before or during the season.
