Game Coverage Sucks
 

I dont know about you, but i am watching the game on ESPN. Kornheiser, Jaws, Charles Barkley, and this other douchbag are covering the game and it has been the worst coverage i have ever seen. They arent even talking about football. In the first half when sean taylor laid a hit on one phillie reciever to jar the ball lose to force a fourth down, they didnt even acknowledge it. they were to busy talking about andy reids personal life ( which was the topic of the whole game for the next 10 minutes). You know what, i dont care how bad you think theismann is, or how arrogant he is, but he did the most important thing that you had to do in announcing. HE TALKED ABOUT FOOTBALL! THESE GUYS FUC*ING SUCK! I mean for one leave reids personal life out of monday night football just for his privacy, but i mean gaddamnit talk about the game. I mean im not even sure if they knew the score half of the time. they were talkin about stupid shit, like the philly mascot and stuff. But what pisses me off the most is that Barkley keeps preachin how Andy Reid and Mcnabb arent getting any credit....i think thats a load of horse shit. IF ANYONE ISNT GETTING ANY CREDIT ITS THE SKINS! They made a mistake in releasing Theismann. Hey but the Skins D is kicking ass so its all good :)

I agree, way too much talk about stuff other than the action on the field.

Sunday night football is the new Monday night football. NBC just gets it, ESPN doesn't.

ESPN's coverage is very sub-par.

I agree I wish I could have seen that hit by Taylor again, and as for Charles Barkley, he needed to get out of the booth I was tired of hearing him yap.

I couldnt believe they didnt show the taylor hit on replay, and the eagle bias in the commentating was a little much, especially barkley, f him. another thing was andy reids camera time, they kept showing his fat face after every play it seemed like.

Korn and Barkley are Skins fans in case you didn't know. Jaws is an Eagles fan. They called the game without sounding bias towards their favorite teams. I thuoght they did a pretty good job as opposed to the commentary from the preseason hometown announcers.

I think it was just the fact they were jabbering on about things unrelated to the game for over 50% of the game. Andy Reid's kids and feeling sorry for them (which yes, I'm sure we all do, but how does that pertain to football?) and then don't even ask me what Barkley was jabbering on about.

Like I said, the commentary seemed like 4 guys (including Barkley) just hanging around the bar on a Friday night. A little too casual for me.

Huh? How many times did Barkley babble on about Philly being the home team and how he supports them all the time...on that one long screen pass too he even said "oh no".

I don't get MNF's fascination with Barkley, a has-been who never won squat. They had him in the booth for 20 minutes during the Bears-Cardinals game in Phoenix last year too...

And another thing..babbling on about Reid's kids like they're some kind of victims...they're criminals and they spend 15 minutes on that...geesh.

Regardless of who he picked to win. His favorite team is the Skins. He does commentary from his head and not his heart, as well as Korn. The pre-game coverage was ridiculous as well. You'd have thought the eagles were playing themselves. I only saw glimpses of the B&G here and there.

Being subjected to Barkley was torture. His blabbering about the Pats made me want to kick in my TV screen.

Worst coverage of all-time. My wife was yelling at the TV because it was so bad and she wanted some football talk (I love her :)). Kornheiser is the absolute worst, Tirico doesn't keep things on track, Jaws is alright but they never let the guy talk football. Barkley just made things worse and basically ruined the whole third quarter plus they kept showing shots of those four idiots sitting in the booth rather than actually talking about or showing anything happening on the field. Literally the worst NFL coverage I've ever seen.

Oh, and then there was Barkley who just restated the same three points for 45 minutes, unbearable! Plus the announcers just kept repeated the same hackneyed soundbites on the Redskins and how they bring in high-priced players, etc. etc. like they have not looked at anything the Skins have done this offseason and have nothing relevant to say about what was happening in the game. I could go on forever! NFLN is at least giving the Skins some love and Adam Schefter and TD actually pointed out the obvious point that all the 'experts' just look at what happened last year rather than remembering that the Skins were 10-6 in 2005.

Oh, and can we get some info on the Randy Thomas injury during the telecast? Geez!

not to mentiom 3rd qtr when skins were owning the birds. they didnt even show the footage in full screem serioudly! how about that bulls&*t commercial before the game with mcshabby blowing off all the skins defenders. this could be a special year guys if we can keep the line together. Coverage blew....why do we even need to see the announcers.....it's bad enough listening to their voices...I have no desire to see their faces, or their "guests".....that fumble by the Eaglets wasn't even covered or replayed enough...that was a huge play and it was cleary a fumble.....at least to me and my fellow skins fans....instead...they focus on Barkley and why the fans boo....who the f cares?.......Eagle centered broadcast...glad they got their wings clipped tonight...hope they go 0-3

Why do they think we want some other "entertainment" when a football game is on? Who in the world do they think is watching? It's Dennis Miller all over again...

Just get a pro play by play guy, an ex-player or two, and call the friggin game. It's like having Woody Allen in the booth. And I like Woody Allen, believe it or not. But not during a dang football game.

As for the Philly coverage--good. The lower we fly under the radar, the better. I guess they sell more more Chunky soup that way. Whatever.

yeh that commercial before the game was total bs, friggin mccnabb shakin off all the skins. in a way though im glad that no one is given us credit. jus fuels the fire i guess. the stupidest part though was during a semi-long kick off return by rock, korn was still tryin to make jokes about the philly mascot being all inflated and stuff. hes such a stupid ass
