Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
meh ... dont think the ravens or 9'ers deserve it
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
49ers, Texans, Packers. All better teams then the Redskins? Hmmmm. We'll see.
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
They just keep blowing Dallas... How in the hell can the team with the 26th best defense in the league be the 3rd best team overall?!
And can anyone tell me what Seattle, San Fran, Houston, Cincy, and possibly Denver have done to be ranked higher than Washington? |
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
you have to take in consideration on who's compiling the list.common people, you know morons!

They are good teams, but seriously a rise from 25th to 11th for the Texans? That is a bit too much. Shows that their "power rankings" suck because they obviously thought the Texans first win was a fluke. |

Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
If I were to honestly appraise where we stand, I would say somewhere between 8 and 10. Which I guess would be 9.
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
I'm not too upset w/this, seems about right for the most part.
Only thing I disagree with is Pitt. should be at #3, not dallas. Dallas does deserve to be pretty high, though I know the D doesn't look too good. I am still expecting them to come around as the season progresses & they get Newman back. You can bet when they play us their D will not look like it has these last 2 weeks. |

Sort of like the Indy teams of the recent past. Just go put up big numbers on offense every week, and have an ok defense. I think their defense will come around though, so it's probably a fair rating at this point. |
Didn't Indy win the SB with like the 30th rated D last year?
Yeah, but they were probably the #1 or #2 defense in the playoffs. It was like watching a completely different team. Part of it was they got their safety back and I think part of it was Dungey sandbagging so there wouldn't be film on his schemes. He knew his offense could get him in the playoffs and then he let his defense loose. Big offense and no defense will take you part of the way. To go all the way you have to be good/near great in all three phases of the game. |
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
You have to consider who we have beaten and that is two 0-2 teams
|

That would be something to have the luxury to sandbag all the way through the season and not reveal your defensive schemes until the playoffs. I'm not sure that was the case as much as they were just focused more than ever after always being the team that can't get to the big show. |

I guess it would be better if they were 2-0, then we'd have a higher ranking...oh wait then we wouldn't be 2-0...hmmmmm |
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
You have to consider who we have beaten and that is two 0-2 teams
Well, the best they could be under those circumstances is 1-1. |

But aren't they 0-2 because we beat them? |

Ranked 32nd against the run, 2nd against the pass and 21st overall. NFL - Statistics by Team - Yahoo! Sports |

I could be niave, but i doubt he was 'sandbagging.' If nothing else, your first comment was dead on. Bob Sanders is a bad ass, and him not being a starter probably affected the plays they were calling. |
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
What's NOT shocking is that only the Lions are lower than us as far as teams that are undefeated are concerned.

People lets also not forget that the 2 teams that the Cowgirls beat are also 0-2 (Giants and Dolphins). I'm not saying we should be in the top 5 but we should at least be closer ranked to one another....... |

Yea....and theres a reason for that, because the REDSKINS GOT A HOLD OF THERE ASS! CAPN. OBVIOUS  |
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
Personally I think the ranking isnt too bad, needs to be a bit higher. The way Miami played against Dallas makes me think Miami's D isn't as good as hyped to be. It is obvious their offense has problems as well.
You have to take that into consideration when power ranking us. Now if we win next week too, then I would think we break the top 10. |

Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
Get Real the Bengals gave up 51 points to the Cleveland Browns & they are ahead of us!!! Stupidity at it's finest!!!
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
Re: The Cows - they must be getting worked up over this weekend's game vs the Bears. They have shown a lot of offense in wins over two of the weakest defensive teams in the League (the Giants- 29th - and the Fins -25th).
It will be instructive to see what happens vs Erlacher, Briggs and company! |
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
just win games and string together a good season...I don't care what the rankings are. You must earn respect! So take it and stop waiting for it!

Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
Dallas Sucks.
|
Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
Miami was hanging close with dallas until trent green started messing up and threw 4 interceptions and fumbled. Trent Green was dallas' offense. Werent all of there turnovers except maybe one in miami territory almost close enough for a field goal? Their d had to be getting tired from being on the field so much. If you look at the numbers their offense went for about the same yardage but just 5 turnovers. Miami's d is good just not when they're on the field the whole game. Dallas is not bad but not as good as they're hyped up to be

Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
but yeah i just wish this over-hyping of dallas would end they're not as good as everyone makes them sound. I do like how most people don't give us the credit we deserve, keeps them wanting to prove themselves.

Re: ESPN Power Rankings 9/18/07
The Bengals are still ahead of us after giving up 51 to the Browns. BS

Re: Power Rankings 9/18/07
7 is way too high. I wonder if Dr. Z does crystal meth before he writes, just to get the creative juices flowing. His rankings are always strange.

I think he's trying to set us up for a 10 or 15 spot fall if and when we lose. These Redskins haters are a devious lot. |
