Normally I don't care about these rankings and they're generally fair, but the other undefeated team above us is the Texans at 14. Give me a fucking break. These are ridiculous if you read them.

Believe it or not, I think the Redskins as a team actually relish the role in which they've been cast. To a man, they all say they love being the Rodney Dangerfield's of the league. You get more satisfaction from proving doubters wrong than you do being criticized for failure to meet lofty expectations.

In many instances, there's nothing that will fuel determination more than to be doubted, or told you can't or won't be able to acomplish something. I have a feeling the Redskins are going to use that doubt as motivation to have the last laugh.

Mike Sellers for president, I dont know what it is but the guy is all heart and effort. We're playing good now, but if we had 53 Mike Sellers' we'd be unstoppable. Anyway enough love for my [U]Consistent[/U] man Sellers. Screw those power rankings but I like the motivation this will give our players. Hopefully we don't peak too soon, the whole season is ahead of us with not too many matchups in our favor.

Honestly this is the first power rankings where i've seen us this low. I'm not totally suprised, Fox Sports usually uses their dumb formulas to make these rankings, and honestly i don't care how many formulas they use, it doesn't prove anything. Stats don't tell the whole story, and this is clearly the case here. I have seen a lot of love for Jason Campbell this week though, ESPN included.

any long time redskins fan will know this one thing: Joe Gibbs teams have never gotten any respect. He and our team thrive off getting "no respect". even when we played buffalo wayyyy back in the early 90's no one thought we would win...So joe and the skins team are in familiar territory...the rodney dangerfield of the NFL....makes winning against the odds and with a chip on yer shoulder even more sweet

This team seems to respond better when they fly under the radar like in 2005.

Last year I think egos got out of control in the preseason with all the Super Bowl talk and some guys lost their edge. It seems to be back this year, you can see guys playing with a lot more fire like they have something to prove.

I totally agree... Let them keep underestimating the Redskins, let them say we have yet to beat a quality oppenent or whatever, we win this weekend and they will be saying the same thing. I enjoy proving people wrong and hope that it will continue throughout the season.

These rankings are untterly useless. It really shows how much these guys don't know about football. Right now we look like a playoff team so that should at least put us in the top 16. I realize it is a long season and we are only 2 games in but give us some credit.

If the Skins can get to the New England game with a 5-1 record, and put up good fight against the "pre-ordained" Super Bowl champion Pats, there will be no denying our rightful place - not that these silly rankings mean anything. Regardless of how the season turns out, the Skins are trending in the right direction personnel-wise, and the talking heads that haven't received the memo will find out for themselves soon enough.
