Desean Jackson with our first round draft pick!
 

I would love for us to draft this kid next year. Desean, moss and randel el would be an incredible 3 wr set. We will then have the Greatest Show on Grass. These 3 wide receivers would be faster than the cornerbacks trying to cover them. With Al Saunders calling his own plays his offense would be just incredible with CP in the back field and Cooley down the seams. Just think we would probably have the fastest offense ever created in the NFL. What do you guys think about him as our first round pick if he is there? No more questions about a 3rd receiver and see ya to my boy B Lloyd.

D-Line > Desean Jackson. Jackson would further solidify us, but we have two capable starting receivers and Reche Caldwell is not a horrible person to have as a backup. Maybe if we didn't have any real needs on this team than we'd get him, but with each growing season it becomes increasingly clear we need d-line help.

I don't want to see Skins use 1st and 2nd draft for any other positions except for D-line and O-line especially guards.. We need to fatten up our lines up then we can focus on other needs..

I'm w/ you GridIron 26. Linemen, linemen, linemen. Get em young, fast, healthy and mean. I think our ageing o-line will all return next year and hopefully w/o the kind of freak injuries to Thomas and Jansen, so probably a d-lineman should be first priority. Who is the best in college football rightnow? Who is the best d-end in college ball?

linemen are a pressing need, but I also agree that we need a wideout, but Id look for size, moreso than speed.
Calvin Johnson is lighting it up so far...

unless its an outstanding lineman you should be able to pick one up other than in just the first round...

IF we dont go with a defensive lineman, Im going to go crazy. You cant keep neglecting the line and expect to win, it just wont happen. Unless something crazy happens like this year when Laron Landry was available for us, then we have to go with the best defensive lineman, hopefully it will be Colais from Miami.

True, but I dont remember that many recievers with the combination of size, speed and athleticism of Calvin Johnson, thats why many draft experts referred to him as a "once in a lifetime" talent.

C. Johnson was worth passing up a d-lineman for any team. You pick based on talent over what you need, and nobody stacked up to his talent. I don't see another reciever like him in college ball though. Just from watching the highlights, there is no college baller constantly flashing huge talent.

I gotta agree with dmek. This thread is silly but I'll comment anyways. We need some quality young O-Linemen in the worst way. And a passrusher as well to replace Daniels. No need to be drafting rookie wr's when we need line help.

Someone started a "who to draft" thread just a few days ago. We said then it's too speculative, and it's still the same. We have no idea what position we'll be in to draft whom. It's just too premature at this time.

As an Oregon fan, yesterday was extremley painful to watch...hell that loss might have been a worse way to lose than the Giants last week (even though I just root for Oregon, I was getting into it yesterday)....

I still think we need to see how things shake out this season to see where we really need some help....I'd be great to have this kid, but at seasons end we might have bigger needs...

Who knows, one of the guys we've picked up could make an nice #2 anyways.

Basically if we want this pick we should just start giving up and try our best to go 2-14. He is going to be a top 5 pick, that's a pick I hope we don't have. For the record though I would take him on my team any day.

HAHAHAHA....I remember something about the last game the Texans played the year Reggie Bush was drafted and it almost seemed like they lost the last game on purpose to try to get a better pick by having a worse record than the Saints. I'm pretty sure they missed a 20-30 FG but it totally looked like he MEANT to do it and the commentators were saying the same thing. The kicker almost looked happy afterwards.

I dont know.....just thought it was funny.

You can't win without a defence ,,,, we need pass rushers ,,, BAD ! Samuals,Jansen ,Wade, Thomas , Kendall,fabini, Danials , Griffen are all near the point of slowing / retiring. M. Washington and Springs won't be around forever. We have had a need at DE & CB for years and OL needs to be addressed .

Why in the world would this be brought up? Not only is it too eary, the kid has had exactly 1 good game, and it was this week vs Oregon (11 - 161yds, 2tds) but here are his previous 4 games:
Game 1- 4 - 45yds, 0tds
game 2- 5 - 39yds, 0tds
game 3- 5 - 28 yds, 0tds
game 4- 3 - 39yds, 0 tds

BTW- he's 6'0" and only 166 pounds.

He's one of those players that will be good in College, but disappear in the NFL. There are a slew of players that are better right now...OH, and he's only a junior right now and it's unknown if he will forgo his senior season.

That being said, we need O Line help and we more importantly, we need D Line help.

6'3" 223lbs...hell yeah! We need a WR like him. He'd be a perfect compliment to Moss.
Fitz is on pace for 104 catches, and 1260 yards. Of course, he's also on pace for 0 td's, but I think that has more to do with the revolving door at QB.
I was just curious as to why fitz, had no clue he wanted out.

I think it would be a steal for us to get him with just 1 first round pick, however, we need those picks for more important areas like D line.

If Desean Jackson is still there when we go to pick, I pray to God we have the brains to take him. He is worth way more than anyone else coming out of college right now.

Addressing the linemen issue. The higher the draft pick is the more "guaranteed money" he will receive. Last time I checked a linemen isn't worth a every down, huge threat, blazing speed receiver. I would almost always wait until at least the 2nd round to start going after linemen. Maybe late first.
