None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
I was listening to the radio and had never really thought of this but as of today none of our WR's have caught a TD. I know Cooley has pulled in his share and gives JC a bigger target but not having one after 5 games came as a big surprise. I also think this stat is one of our problems we have had in our 2 losses and our lack of butting up better numbers on O. I think this will change this week. So whats your thought and which WR will catch the first TD?
I'm going way out on a limb and saying BL!!! |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
I guess I'll go with ARE since he's been tackled at about the 1 yard line twice so far this season. Eventually he's going to fall forward just a little farther.

Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
Mcccccccccardel
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
Brandon Lloyd.

Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
Thrash . .
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
campbell is hitting our receivers in stride down field....they just gotta make the catch and stay on their feet
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
You mean to tell me Carlos Rogers has more TDs than our recievers....
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
I have been thinking about this as well and here is one of my theorys..... Cooley is a big redzone threat, because he is either going to the corner, or "sitting down" beneath the zone. Our WRs need to score on a post or a slant or a crossing pattern which is going against zone coverage a lot of the time. When Campbell has hit the deep one against man coverage, our WRs (Moss and Randle El specifically) are catching the ball, but not in stride, where they can get YAC and score. They have been catching it going out of bounds or then getting tackled immediately. Campbell has a great arm, but our WR are having to adjust a little I think on some of his deeper balls and are doing all they can to just catch it. But they are not able to extend the catch into the homerun. Anyway, those are my thoughts. We have not tried to hit a WR very often in the redzone, because we don't have a big target like a R. Moss or T.O. or Boldin, Marques Colston...... note to Vinny, next year go get a 6-2 WR! I guess Lloyd should be that guy, but he can't get on the field!

Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
It's because they are all too short and rarely get open enough for JC to get them the ball. Notice when they do catch a pass downfield, it is usually threaded in there perfectly. There just isn't any room for error because of their height. They can't go up and fight for the ball against most corners in the league like receivers such as Plaxico or TO or Randy Moss can.
That's my theory anyway. |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
Moss will catch 2 this weekend.
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
How many does he drop then?
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
None, have some faith.
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
I say Moss has one on the second play from scrimmage 71 yard catch and run
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
To be truthful I think for as good as Campbell has been he has missed at least 3 wide open "easy" touchdowns.
We'll have some this week. Moss will have at least one. Big game for him. |

I concur. Moss will be over 150 yards receiving this weekend. I would look for McCardell to play 20 to 25 snaps as well. |

I hope you are correct. I'd like to see JC hook up with him a few times for a big game. It would go a long way for the confidence of both of them. |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
i dont care if our recievers catch any this year as long as we can score somehow in the redzone. of course i dont play fantasy football either....
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
oh, and i predict that BL will catch the first one, a deep pass too.

Totally! Moss is a stand up guy with a a lot of pride. He's going to smoke a couple of somebodies on Sunday |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
This weekend that stat WILL change! Moss & EL will both taste the end zone.
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
Does an end zone taste like vanilla or chocolate?

So far for the Skins it has been a "Rocky Road" |

LOL damn, not much to say after that. Well played, well played. |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
I'm with Matty, I think Moss has a big bounce-back game. Final stats 8-125-1, w/no drops (and no carries on end arounds).

Add to that 2 ARE passes that were stopped just a yard shy of the end zone, and we could easily have a nice total to WRs. I like our chances this week - Moss should be a man on a mission after the way he played last week. |

Well that depends on who catchs the ball...... Cooley=Vanilla Moss=Chocolate |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
definitely think Moss will be the first and it will be this weekend....i also think it won't be long before ARE throws a TD pass
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
you guys really love Moss. Realistically, I don't think Moss is going to rebound this week.

You HAVE to love Moss!!! Never forget that glorious Monday night when he and Brunell single handedly beat the Cowboys!!!! |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
I think the problem is that Campbell doesn't put air under the long ball. I remember an announcer last year saying that Moss was the best at adjusting to the ball. That's what happened in the famous Dallas game. Campbell's long passes are too flat, and the receivers don't have time to adjust. If you pass it long enough and the receiver has position then they catch the ball (if it has air under it), even if they have to slow down to make the catch. The other option is that the DB climbs up the receiver's back, and that's pass interference. He has to allow the receivers to make the play.
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
fair assessment mike340. Cambell does lack trajectory on his throws. It also could be that his balls are being thrown too hard. If you look at his short 4-6 yard passes, he's zipping that thing so fast a lot of times it's bouncing off the players.
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
Because they are too little. Sorry, I say stupid things when I'm mad. And this team has me so pissed-off with all of it's babified excuses. I am so tired of this team underacheiving, and these high-priced players making excuses.

Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
Healthy + Moss = Moss Touchdown
Not Healthy + Moss = Lloyd Touchdown |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
i think it will be Randle El. He's been so close to breakin one. he'll get his.
him or either Moss will get one this week. their safety Adrian Wilson is questionable. i see them gettin one on a fly |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
Lloyd will grab a 40 plus yard TD! Everyone will be praising Lloyd. No reason to worry about Moss. Reality is we have to get more WRs involved so Moss isn't on the hot seat every down! You'll see Reche Caldwell, Lloyd, McCardell and Thrash alot more in coming weeks. Don't worry about Moss. Look for the Redskins to test aggresive offense against a struggling Arizona team.
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
I think Moss will have a major rebound game. Do you guys realize we don't have a TD over 20 yards?
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
We haven't hit on any deep passed from thirty yds. and beyond which is the major contributin factor. Once deep in the red zone, WR's have limited space with which to work, and JC has been looking for bigger targets like Sellers and Cooley once inside the fifteen yd. line. When Campbell has the opportunity to hit a WR from the 25-30 yd. line in stride, I think we may see our first, not withstanding the catch and run possibility.
I'll say Moss catches his first TD tomorrow. No drops.....I dare say no one on the team felt worse than he did after last weeks game, he'll make every effort to make up for it. |
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
And the streak continues. >30 million invested in our WRs. 0 tds over 6 games.
|
Re: None Of Our WR's have Caught A TD
But somehow we keep winning.
Football Gods have been giving us a lot of undeserved luck lately, but damnit, I'll take it. |
