Hey guys, EA sports is launching their own FF service this year. They have offered me my own free league and they want me to review their service, and they will also pay $.10 per click generated through an ad I will place on the site up to a $200 value redeemed through NFL shop or Amazon.

As a commissioner this is a $99 value!

WTF?! someone already had skinsncanes as a username. I thoguht i was the only cool one to use that name.

man, someone had the AIM name to...so sad, I was considering changing my name. I registered CANESnSKINS, but someone its not the same sinec im used to this one now...

Yeah, I was wondering how that email draft worked as well...
I think it said that the draft happens 730 on Wednesday 8/11. correct?

There was already a Brunellfan, a Brunellfan8, and a Brunellfan08 :doh:

Email draft is pretty simple, it just takes about 2 weeks to complete. When it's your pick you have 24 hours to get it in, then once you pick an email is sent to the next person and so on and so on. If 24 hours pass and you don't pick, you're put on auto for your next pick, unless you go in and change it back to manual. And of course everyone gets pissed at you for taking the full 24 hours, LOL.

I've done them before and it's really cool because you don't have to worry about getting everyone online for a live draft, but like I said it takes about 2 weeks to complete so that's the negative. As long as people don't take the full 24 hours you can get it done quicker, maybe 10 days or so.

Still looking for 4 more guys to fill the league, email draft starts this Wed Aug 11. Please post if you want to play and let me know your email address so I can send you an invitation.

Matty, I was just makeing sure that it is an e-mail draft and not a live draft, If it is a live draft I will not be able to make it cause of work.

Yes it's an email draft, I pushed back the start date until next tues the 17th. We still have a few spots open and I'm not going to be around this weekend.

if its not filled i can take a second team, but that might be a bad idea... trades and benching starters type conflicts of interest...

Anybody willing to do me a huge favor?

Part of this EA free league thing is I have to write a review of what I think of the service. Nothing real in depth or anything, just an overview of my initial impressions of the service, is it easy to use, what improvements could there be, basic stuff like that.

I'm just looking for something short, maybe 2-3 paragraphs. I've just been really busy lately and if I don't have this posted by tomorrow we lose out on the deal. If someone has some time on their hands I'd really appreciate it. If not I'll have to find the time because I definitely don't want to lose out on the league.

its easy to use, but its hard to see the my settings tab, that should be up top, as well as having all the current teams you own on the right of the main page...

I am not sure if this will help you in any way, but this is what I came up with, I am at work and I am sure that I could have done better if I could get into the site and look at it deeper.


The navagation of the site is realtivily easy. The league page is crisp and clear and easy to follow the flow of the page. They show proper use of color where it is easy on your eyes. There is just the right amount of information on the league and the NFL.

The draft tools are nice and easy to use. I like that set up where they have the lists of each position on the page and not just the QB's or RB'S.

The settings tab should be in an easy to locate area on the page. Also it would be nice to have a quick link to the teams that you own.

Looks like the league is full and we're ready to start the email draft. It's set to start at noon on Monday 8/16, so study up!

Remember, you have 24 hours to make your pick. A little advice, if you know you're going to miss a pick, throw some players in the draft queue and place yourself on 'auto'. If things start to chug along slow I may have to reduce the draft time to 16 hours or 12. So please, check your email often and keep an eye on the draft so you have an idea of when you're up.

I too agree, later on you may want to send them that feedback, as its all i've seen thats bad... we haven't tested the communication tools within the league though... I like how you can do the draft with html or java though... but it didn't look like there was a way to chat during the draft, which should probably be added.
