I'll probably pick it up at some point. I'm intrigued by the fact that it's modern warfare. I'm still knee deep in Halo though, so it might be a few weeks.

I like Halo but I guess the whole space/science fiction genre of shooters don't appeal to me as much as a game like COD or Socom.

I too am really excited about it being modern warfare. The WWII games are great but are getting played out.

I couldnt agree more.
I loved COD1 but haven't purchased any of the new versions since. If I have time tomorrow, I'm going to pick it up.

I am holding off on COD until I stop main lining Halo 3.

What do you guys think? Bioshock or COD? I am leaning towards Bioshock at this point as my next game.

For online play COD seems to be the easy choice, for single player go with Bioshock.

Review looks good. I'm not as much of a multiplayer guy for shooters because I hate getting my butt kicked by some 12 year old. Have you played Bioshock Matty?

Just put six hours into the game today and it was worthevery second of waiting. I had a ton of fun with the beta which only had 3 maps and now the full version comes out with a grand total of 16!!!! Definitely the most gorgeous FPS I've ever seen and can't wait to get home from work tomorrow and play it some more.

I picked up this game last night....WOW, without question the best FPS I have played in a long time. If you have a 360, or thinking about getting one, and you like FPS games this is a MUST!

16 MP maps, 18 player matches with upgrades to 24-32 players in the future so they say. Love this game and it will be a big hit.

So it is a 1st person shooter? I personally don't care for games like Socom where you can see your entire body (i.e., 3rd person shooting games).

Controls are very similar with a few new added hinges in the door. The D pad is a vital part of things now with night vision and switching to rocket launchers and grenade launchers. You will love the game, it is one of the best.

Both are great.

The only downside I can see is the single player campaign is short. I've read that you can play through it in 5-7 hours or so, I'm probably half way through already. Personally that really doesn't bother me though because I can see myself playing it over and over even if it is short simply because it's so much fun.

The online is AWESOME. Get a group of 6-8 guys together and run a party with the matchmaking all night! We played until about 12am cst. GREAT game, and has my vote for the best shooter of the year.

I definitely think it is.

But I've never been a huge fan of Halo to begin with so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I mean I like Halo, I just prefer the military based shooters over the sci-fi ones.

Definitely.

The single player mode is very short though, that's my only complaint.

But overall yeah I'd say it's definitely a must have.

I still havent taken it back! LOL... they charged my card for it and I have another week that I can get a refund if I return it, and I plan on taking full advantage...

I just recently started playing online alot and man this game is intense online. I'm still getting my ass kicked for the most part, I think the big thing is just getting to know the maps.

Anyone got any good tips for playing online?

Can you form clans in this game like in SOCOM? It would be nice to have a crew to roll with.
