Decent Job Ramsey...And Now He Has Taylor Jacobs!
I searched and didn't see a thread, so apologies if this has been discussed. For those of you who did not follow the the Lions-Broncos game (which probably no one did), Ramsey came in and did an okay job when Cutler went down with an injury. Definately backup worthy I suppose.
I didn't see many highlights (other than Ramsey getting sacked and fumbling of course, and throwing the pick that was returned for a TD), but here was his stat line: Ramsey completed 29 of 46 passes for 262 yards with a TD pass to Brandon Stokley, an interception and a fumble. Anyways, when ex-Skins players leave on a good note, I like to see them doing well (when not playing us). Broncos look pretty terrible this year overall though. bigM |
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
Oh no.........NOT a WAMSEY thread.........! :spank:
|
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
His stat line ended up with some respectable numbers (albeit against a wretched Lions pass D), and I must admit I somehow missed this game so I don't speak with much first-hand knowledge, but I kind of suspect a lot of those yards came towards the end of the 44-7 blowout and are padded considerably. If he fumbled and threw a pick 6 I'd say he probably didn't play all that great, probably pretty badly. I also predict someone will be pissed to have another Patrick Ramsey thread. Beware.

Re: Decent Job Ramsey
I'd like to forget about pat ramsey. It's fun to watch ex-teammates get beat up.

yeah I post like once every 3 months, not trying to bring up old bad vibes...and i didn't see the game either so odds are you are correct on the stats being padded....we can always discuss Sage Rosenfels |
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
Ahhhh Sage, the one that got away. Spurrier never gave him a chance. Damn him.
|
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
that was one of the game i could watch where im at instead of the skins game, dont let the numbers fool you, they were getting blown out, he was throwing behind recievers and stuttering around like he always has. still had the connon arm. those stats are mostly junk yardage.
|
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
I think I heard that Ramsey leveled the guy who made the interception. I could be wrong and it was Ramsay that got leveled when he threw the int..
|
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
I watched the whole game and he looked like the same QB he was when he left here. Had some tight spirals, but for the most part looked lost and incapable of leading his team. Especially on key downs.

with that being said, i corrected my original title |
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
I watched the game and he was complete shit. He padded those stats and even when the Lions stopped playing he gave them every opportunity to continue to pile on...he fumbled twice and lost one and he threw an INT to a DT for a TD.
Thank god he is no longer on the roster. |

Same WAMSEY different team. THE END....... |
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
I saw quite a bit of him and the stat line doesn't tell the whole story. He stunk.

First of all, no ex-Redskin is your ex-teammate. Second, why is it fun to watch ex-Redskins get beat up? Are you actually Dan Snyder, or just vindictive? And this isn't exclusive to you. There's a lot of people around here that like to bash former Redskins, but you just happened to be the one to make a blunt comment about it. |

Re: Decent Job Ramsey
That's not bad for Ramsey, but it wasn't very good either.
If we wanted mediocre, we could have kept him around. At least the guy we have now might improve beyond mediocre at some point. |
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
Same old Ramsey, it seems to me. The problem with him is NOT that he was so bad that it was just obvious. It's that every now and then he'd fire a tight spiral 30 yards to a wideout, and you'd go--Humm, maybe he'll start to do thata consistently... But he never has, either with us, the Jets, or now, so it seems, the Broncs.
Sage has looked very good down here in Houston--had a great almost comeback where he had tons of 4th quarter points, and looked good against the (woeful) Raiders. Always liked that guy--glad to see he stuck it out, though he'll sit again, I assume, when Schaub returns. |
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
I would take Sage over Ramsey.

Denver coach is hoping Cutler is back as he was not the happy camper about Ramsey's week

Same old hate and BS about Ramsey. Check his stats and record with the Skins-- still better than Brunell's or Campbell's, inspite of playing most of the equivalent of 22 games without blockers or receivers and with two horrible offensive coaches who abused and lied to him. It's pretty hard to blame the guy for twitching now. This hatred of Ramsey came about because most Redskins fans were trying to defend Gibbs' absolute lunacy about Brunell. That lunacy has essentially destroyed the Skins, even until now. By the way, check out Ramsey's stats for this year. |

You win the official talking out of your ass award for this week crazy horse. In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the quote I put in bold, you haven't, that was Ramsey's first game this season. And if you feel a guy that has 2 turnovers including one that went for a TD, and had only 1 td...we that sucks. Any player that doubles his turnovers compared to td's is worth nothing. Also, a 76.5 rating is terrible. So what was that you were saying about "check out his stats"? I did...they show that he sucked. |
Re: Decent Job Ramsey
FYI- Ramsey has 43 career turnovers in 24 starts / 35 games. He has 37 total tds along with a 75.0 rating. Not impressive.

Re: Decent Job Ramsey
Is this a Patrick Ramsey thread??? But seriously, he'd probably be a decent backup in our offense and is a decade younger than Brunell and Collins. I didn't watch any of that beatdown the Lions dished out, and I have no regrets about that. While Ramsey certainly didn't warrant a 1st rd draft pick, he played hard for us and suffered through that beat down he took under Spurrier in '03. All best to him.

Re: Decent Job Ramsey
My god. We're arguing about Ramsey. Make it die. Noooooooooooooooo. Nooooooooooooooo. (Insert weird going-crazy style music with trippy psychedelic seventies lights. Or not: this is bad-acid-flashback enough, I suppose.)

Well if those were Campbell's numbers we would have thread after thread saying how he's coming into his own, it was pretty much garbage time in that game. Lets see what happens next week if he gets the start? Gibbs and Lunacy? I couldn't agree more, the ship is sinking and Captain Quigg is at the wheel, or should I say old yellow stain? |

Obviously what Skins fan didn't like Gibbs back in the day? But Gibbs now? Here is what I think his real problem is and I said his first season back, he doesn't have Bobby Beathard feeding him unlimited talent, he's throwing away picks for no body's, BB gave him the best O-line in football for 10 years, Gibbs could dominate defensive lines and do what ever he wanted, ain't happening any more, I think Gibbs thought that he could handle personnel because of his superior coaching abilities and found out he needs superior talent to be affective, our O-line was the heart and soul of all those SB teams, and yet we really don't focus on that line in the draft, even when healthy our line does not push people backwards which is why we don't run the ball effectively which is why teams can load up on our WR's. As for our QB's? Well Gibbs is allowed to hand pick them he's paid steep prices for what I believe to be failures, unlike when BB would find gems later in the draft. Gibbs first go round he wanted to get rid of Theisman and Riggins, imagine if he had total control over personnel back then? |

Ramsey also had a big game in the exhibtion season this year. Did I mention that Ramsey's twenty two games (or equivlent of) were uncannily similar to the first twenty two games of John Elway. Hmmm. And, as I remember, both were hailed as future stars-- until Gibbs showed up with Brunell and so called Redskin fans started kissing the old man's butt by coming down on Ramsey, even after he took over for Brunell and jerked our offense from oblivion. The permanent replacing of Ramsey in the first game of the season after a successful quarter will be long remembered as the defining moment of Gibbs' failure as a returning hero. That moment said it all. The loss of judgment, the inability to adjust, the breakdown of principle, the loss of the players' trust, etc. That year was the year we had the talent to go to the Superbowl. |
