Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas

Will we? who knows really. Any given Sunday. But yesterday was so frustrating; there were so many positives we can take from the game (running game is back, the passing game can succeed without Moss, Campbell's growth) but in the end we came out with an L. It sucks, of course it sucks, no fan enjoys losing.

But what's even more frustrating is that it seems we can't even come onto this site, a REDSKINS FAN SITE, to boost our spirits and rally around our team. Instead, we have the usual "Joe must go" "This team is heading in the wrong direction" thread. Sad part is we even get those after wins. You'd think we'd never won a game ever the way some people talk.

So, call me crazy, call this thread 'retarded' all you want, but it's high time we got some more positive vibes going here. Of course, I know there will be those "I'm just being a realist" responses. But the reality is that we're 5-4 and plenty of teams around the NFL are in worse shape than us. And there is a lot to feel good about 9 games into the season. That so few people see that on a Redskins fan site is a shame.

Call it bold, call it stupid. But I'm saying right here right now that the Redskins will be 6-4 after next Sunday. Someone has to think positive, it might as well be me. If we lose, I'll use the infamous Parrot avatar for two weeks. If we win, I'm banning 10 of you for two weeks ;)

I'm about to do a Kool-Aid keg stand, who's with me?

Dallas is now a must win. The season is on the line, we need this more. The Skins will win, lock it up.

I'll offer up a bet for someone too. If we lose I will take a one week off from posting on the site, other than news articles. And if we win whoever takes my bet has to take a week off.

First of all let me say it is NOT bold and it is NOT stupid!

You can have your Packers/Bears, or Red Sox/Yankees rivalry. NOTHING says pure pride than the Cowboys/Redskins rivalry!

There are NO win-loss records when these two teams meet. Records are out the window and this is the one game each year I get stoked and psyched for. I love this one week of football more than any other the entire year!

OK! Your crazy, this thread is retarded. It's bold, stupid.
I was so taken with grief after the loss to the birds, I climbed up on top of the roof and jumped off. Sadly, I live in one story house, and all I accomplished was to tear my rotator cuff. Now I can't get back on the ladder as my damn shoulder hurts to much! Consequently, I have nothing else to do but...................another round of KOOLAID!!!!

Here is my reason the Redskins will beat Dallas Sunday: They've won after every loss dating back to the first Giants loss.

YAY for trends! :biggthump

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas

It's hard not to get down and negative about the Skins, and this site is a place for people to vent. That being said, the most positive spin I can put on what I have seen so far this season is that they 5 wins by the mid-point. Barring an 0-8 disaster over the next two months the Skins will defiantely improve on the 5-11 mark of a season ago. That makes me happy, and should be pointed to by all the pessimists as a sign of good things down the road.

As for the Dallas rivalry, I would love to see the players get into it as much as the fans do, but the old days are gone forever I think.

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas

Basically I see us ending up 8-8. I think we beat Tampa, Buffalo, Chicago and Minnesota.

But knowing our inconsistent we are, we'll probably sweep Dallas and NY, then lose to the Bills at home keeping us out the playoffs.

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas

Must win game no question. However....it would be foolish for anyone to pick the skins in this game. Can we win? Yes. Dallas is clearly more talented and has the better team at this point. After the NE debacle (i thought we could win that one), i'm not predicting a W on this one.

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas

Wow! I loved this post! I was sooo ready to get on here and start the bashing. Yesterdays loss was as tough if not worse then the Giants loss. I mean we pretty much had them till the goal line disaster!! Who the hell called the draw play on the 3rd and goal after the false start!?? Its so frigging hard being a Redskins fan! We are basically 2 TD's away from being 7-2!
Now it is time to look in the mirror. Unfortunately at only week 11 we are at THE MUST WIN point. And it needs to start by beating the Cryboys!! If we manage a win against them and lets say we lose one-two more games....do we have a wild card shot?? Really??
My signature listed below hasn't changed since week 1. This IS my favorite game of the year as it is for lots of us I'm sure.
It's also happens to fall on my birthday this year. What a treat! SO COME ON GUYS!! HOW ABOUT A GREAT WIN FOR MY 35TH!

The way Romo was throwing the ball around and our D was playing yesterday, we'll have to score more than 30 points just to stay in the game.

These victories will get us a 9-7 record. I agree with these victories as well, but I wouldn't go into a berzerk rage if we traded one or two of them for an equal number of wins against either the Giants and/or Dallas.

I do not see Dallas as a must win at all. Beat these four, and we'll hold wild card tie-breakers over Tampa, Chicago, Minnesota, Detroit, and Arizona. I like those chances more than beating the Cowboys in Dallas.

C'mon mods. Yesterday was a must win. I like trying to keeping things positive but it's just the way we lose that kills everyone. Always blowing 4th q leads.

You guys are the biggest Kool Aid drinkers I have ever seen. Dallas is simply playing at another level right now. For us to win they are going to have to play a bad game. Plus with all the injuries we have? Not gonna happen

Do I honestly think the Skins will win? Probably not.

But you know what? The Saints lost to the freaking RAMS yesterday. I'd HATE to be one of their fans this morning.

That definitely proves anything can happen and if there is a game we've been up for every year it's against Dallas. Sure, we'll probably lose, but the "Any Given Sunday" factor is at an all-time high against Dallas this Sunday.

This Washington team is quite an enigma. After laying an egg against NE - a game I thought they could win - they go and blow a lead against Philly.

For the record, I think this game will be very tight. Dallas Washington is always very close.

Booo! Penalty on the post. There are plenty of other negative threads to participate in.

I've got my homer cap tightly secured. Bring on the cowgirls! We also need a top 5 reasons to hate dallas thread. 12th man, make it so. :)

I know who I'm banning first :) (the Redskins have come back twice after being down at the half this year to win by the way)

This isn't about drinking kool-aid you rat poison guzzler :). This is about

-Some damn positivity on a Redskins fan site
-Records out the window when these two teams play each other (Remember 1991?)
-Portis' proving (to the morons who doubted) that his big game against the Jets was no fluke.
-Campbell gaining confidence in himself
-The team gaining confidence in Campbell

It just baffles me how so many people are so sure all the time that the Redskins will lose. Were you sure Manning would throw 6 Ints yesterday? Were you sure the Saints' sudden hot streak would end at the hands of the 0-8 Rams? If you were more power to you.

It won't be easy. No one said it would be. The Cowboys are a very strong team. I just hope the team doesn't have the same quit in them its "harcore fans" do.

I'm already ordering the other two Kool Aid kegs. The Greg Williams D will be ready. ST is going to shut down TO. Crayton will be shown to be a regular ass receiver. Romo will constantly be hitting the turf. The Barber- Jones Run game will be introduced to the LB Core.

I could conceivably see us taking one of two from you guys, but the only way you don't take this division is if we sweep you, and I just can't see that happening.

This game is going to be for pride nothing more. The Redskins most realistic possibility lies in a WC birth...and there will be games way more important than this one into deciding the 6th seed.

Hey, aren't you guys the people Thomas Boswell wrote about today in the Post? ... the "burgandy-and-gold enablers"? ... the R-skins-baaa-baaa-sheep who sinply won't admit that time has passed your coach by and your team is -- face it! -- MEDIOCRE bordering on bad? ... Every week from the St. Joe: "Real proud of our guys ... fought their guts out ... real proud of our fans ... everyone's to blame ... that includes me ... it's my fault ... blah blah blah" ... the reason he tells everyone to blame him, people, is BECAUSE HE KNOWS YOU WON'T!!

I almost prefer to go into this game with guarded expectations. The Cowboys are clearly a better team at this point, and we have what I would argue is a more important game at Tampa the next week. Tampa has real tie-breaker implications for a wild card, which is a more realistic goal for the Skins at this point.

Exactly. Thank you. I'm not stupid, I know a win is going to be very very difficult. And I'm not ignorant to the limitations this team has. Just as I'd like to think everyone who is negative all the time here isn't ignorant to the positives.

Here's my Koolaid thinking (actually, it's not koolaid, it's just an optimist's outlook):

1. Dallas this week is NOT a must win. We'll be in the hunt without this one.

2. There are winnable games left on the schedule (note: we have to actually win them! I know, I know, we suck, fire gibbs blah, blah, blah...): Buffalo, Minn, Chi, TB (tough one): that's 9 wins, without Dallas or NY.

3. Dallas may not need week 16--plus, it's in DC and we may need it as a "win or go home" game. Hence, that is a winnable one, and if we're in that position, we've got some momentum. So, we can beat Dallas at HOME to go 10-6, or 9-7.

4. On the road in NYC is tough, but god, we owe those bastards, and I'm not sold on them. A possible win, if we don't get TB or one of the others.

5. Put it all together, and things are hardly lost here, folks. What makes this koolaid, I guess, is the crazy idea that we can beat Buffalo and Chicago at home, Minn on the road, and Tampa or NY on the road. Then at home for Dallas, with Randy Thomas back. You might say it's koolaid to think we can beat ANYONE now. I say that's the post-loss depression talking. I say get your negative heads out of the dark recesses of your own complaining asses, and have a little hope!!!! Good post. That stretch against the Bills, Bears, Vikings, Bucs is probably more important but a win against the Cowboys would be huge for morale.
