Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
I was at the game yesterday in section 436. The Eagles fans have no class at all. The cops arrested one guy for throwing a beer bottle. There was one female eagles fans getting in the face of other fans and overall they just acted like morons.
|
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
Is there any doubt that they are the most classless fans in all of pro sports?
|
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
Philly football fans are the closest thing we have to soccer hooligans (with apologies to Raider Nation). It's almost like they take pride in their idiocy.
|
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
Thats the usual! They don't know any better, the philly way........ ZERO CLASS!
We witnessed a few philly fans leave the game rather blooded up........... |
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
I went last year to Phil at Wash
Same thing the Philly fans were crazy and annoying. One Philly's guy got kicked out. They are retared to say the least. |

Yeah that sounds way to dangerous. At least yesterday there were lots of Skins fans around. |
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
I sat directly in front of a group of Eagles fans yesterday and frankly, I was ashamed to be a Redskins fan. They were a quiet bunch and cheered for their team the way fans should. They didn't curse at anyone and tried to stay out of trouble. Despite their efforts, they were cursed at, had beer poured on them, and were harrassed the entire game. Of course that is natural when you come to enemy turf, but when the Skins' fans started leaving with 2 minutes left and within one score of tying the game, it proved that Skins' fans have no heart while Eagles' fans stuck it out the entire game. Why do Skins' fans leave early like that? Do we really care more about getting home than cheering our team on and possibly seeing overtime? I'm ashamed.

I stayed until the game was over. The Eagles fans are still the most classless fans in the NFL. |
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
Was there really the need for a new thread that already points out the obvious?
I went to a Skins - Eagles game a few years back in Washington. It was sad, at least 50% of the fans there were Eagles fans. It was the first or the 2nd out of the 3 years the Eagles had that streak of going to the Championship game and never following through. The Skins got killed 31 - 7 and the Eagles fans booed Bruce Smith at half-time when he was receiving an award. Most classless fans in professional sports. |

Danny Boy has himself one of the least accessible stadiums in pro-sports. Way out in the sticks, no metro access, shitty parking, and MISERABLE pre and post game traffic. After yet another pathetic second half collapse, I don't know that I would have stayed unitl the clock hit 0:00 yesterday had I been there. And that's saying a lot b/c I'm not one to ever leave games early. That's the second time we've let a division rival embarass us like that in our house in the second half. As far as the respectful Eagles fans in front of you, I'm glad to hear there are a few out there. Clearly an aberration though. The vast majority of their fans are championship-starved, mouthy, agressive a-holes. |

I get to the games around 10:30 and drive right in everytime without a wait so thats not an issue. Anytime you have 90,000 people leaving a venue all at once there are trafic issues. Land in that area is not that easy to find so I'm not sure how much of a choice they had in its location. So come early and tailgate after the game and trafic dies down pretty quick. |

Every time I go to a Skins game I always tailgate afterwards to avoid traffic. But I've been to several different NFL stadiums, and FedEx is easily the worst as far as accessibilty and post game traffic. Also, if you're going to 1 o'clock games and arriving almost 3 hours early as you say, then of course you're going to drive right in. Maybe the parking isn't awful, but I've had a few bad experiences. |

QUOTE] Remember, Danny Boy inherited the stadium and it was Jack Kent Cooke who moved the team's field to MD (had to do with some issue with DC Mayor Sharon Kelly). Still Danny Boy could make the parking/departing process a whole lot less painful. |

They SHOULD be ashamed, but they won't be.

They also lost allot good parking just across the interstate where that sport complex was which now is comercial buildings. It had easy access a cash lot and within walking distance. I guess I've just become use to the trafic problems which is allways a problem even when ther is not a game. |
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
Didn't some Eagles fans throw somebody over the railing in Philly? Was it Chief Z?
That right there is the perfect example of how classless they are. They are ready to kill or seriously injure somebody over a stupid football game, and their ridiculously large egos. |
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
the best way to deal with philly fans is to punch them in the mouth. trust me it works.

Philly fans are classless and bad because they will travel 150 miles to see their team play an away game when the "great fans" of the home team can't be bothered to buy all the tix and then use them for themselves. 2. Philly fans are classless for booing Bruce Smith? It's not hard to paint a picture of Philly fans in such a way to convince just about anyone that they are less than wonderful sportsmen. Just remember the guy who launched a bottle rocket inside the Vet about 20 years ago across the stadium and into the upper deck on the other side of the field. Luckily, everyone was out of the area for halftime or someone would have been killed. But the two reasons you cite here tell me: 1. Redskins fans can be VERY fickle when their team isn't doing well. 2. Philly fans are very discerning in demonstrating their contempt for one of the biggest self-promoters and selfish players in the NFL. |

Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
Chris:
The bottle rocket launched at the Vet propelled a "payload" that weighed almost a pound and demolished two seats in the upper deck of The Vet when if flew across the entire width of the field and it impacted there. Had there been fans - of any team - seated there, they would very likely have been dead. The person who launched the rocket was charged with "reckless endangerment" which is not quite the same thing as one would be charged with if all he did was pop off a firecracker or two. What I was trying to say is that constructing an argument to demean Philly fans can be done in a way where you don't simultaneously demean Redskin fans for being fickle or simultaneously imply that Bruce Smith is some kind of paragon. |

I detest Philly fans, but our own fans are pretty lame. At FedEx people boo if you stand up, they don't know when to scream and when to shut up, they sell their tickets to friggin fans of division rivals, they don't sit in the stands during the game, etc. Sorry, but our fan base, though large, is diluted by a bunch of lame fans. |

i understand redskins fans for the most part suck, thats why i dont go to fedex anymore. however this thread was to bash eagles fans. besides the entire league knows that fedex is a visiting teams dream. they can get tickets in any row of any section and they can talk as much shit as they want without having to worry about being followed to the parking lot. ive been kicked out of dream seats, upper level, even escorted out of the stadium because of altercations with philly fans and dallas fans and they have kept their seats, and thats why i no longer go to fedex. that and i cant stand to see 3 eagles fans walking down the ramp screaming at skins fans and we just take it. im over fedex. |
Re: Eagles Fans Should Be Ashamed
That bottle rocket had to be 4 to 5 feet long to carry over a pound of payload.

They are scum, subhuman, detestable, deserving of their team's historic poststeason impotence. But I will say this, at least they seem to care. I care, and people on this site feeling the hurt today care as well, but I agree with Sherrif that our fans - at least those who attend the games - are as lame as they come.

I think the College fans can be pretty bad, but those are just drunk students. Philadelphia fans are drunk single guys.

Been to lots of them. I go to the Terps games all the time. They do not sell alcohol at NCAA events. I understand that there is plenty of drinking during tailgating but you hardly see issues due to drinking at the college games. Additionally, security has tightened up so much at the games that it is nearly impossible to sneak alcohol into the game. The NFL on the other hand offers alcohol before, during and after the game. No comparison. |

AMEN to that, 2/3rds of the satdium emptied out when there was 2:16 left on the clock and we had the ball in a one possession game . . . i was down right embarrassed to be associated with people like that . . eagles fans didnt seem to obnoxious, there was 3 eagles fans sitting a few rows behind me and one was jawwing it up with a skins fan, eagles fan started to do the "after the game im gonna ..." stuff, i made eye contact with the skins fan's girl and she seemed scared so i turned around and said to this 20 something year old long haired eagles fan "yo an 80's metal band called and they want their hairstyle back!" . . . i thought it was funny and helped deflate some of the animosity that was building up and to let the skins fan's girl know that it wasnt going to be a 3 on1 if it came down to blows . . . go skins! |
