This has to be the gloomiest Dallas week that I remember in years. Here's a little YouTube clip that should cheer any Redskins fan going into the Dallas game:

One of the best games I've ever watched.

Each time I look at that footage, I see something new. For e.g., looks like Marcus Washington jumped offsides (and wasn't called) on the play where Taylor laid the wood on Crayton. Had that been called, we would've probably lost. So many things went right for us in the last 4 minutes of that game. Man, that Brunell throws the best 2 yd dink pass.

Still remember coming to warpath to vent that night and watching the turn of emotions on this site as we blew those bitches away was way cool.

Worst Monday Night Football game ever broadcasted. I was devestated for a month.

Since returning to Washington Gibbs is 1-10 at Texas Stadium. Hopefully after this weekend he will be 1-11.

Jason Whitten was caught trash talking instead of protecting his fg attempt last year. Troy Vincent blew by him blocked the kick & ST ran down the field, got a facemask call and w/ 0 seconds left set up the skins to win the game....that was cool.

I know I'll get grief for this, but I was so disgusted I went to bed before all hell broke loose. My oldest son ran up the stairs not long afterward to burst through our bedroom door (good thing [B][I]I[/I][/B] was not in the mood) and advise us that the 'Skins had just won. I took it as a typical young teenagers joke and told him to go to bed and get the hell out of our bedroom, I didn't want to hear any jokes about the game. I awoke the next morning and on his way out the door to school he told me again that we won and if I didn't believe him to turn the TV on and check for myself. Well, I couldn't freakin' believe it! I not only apologized to him but I've never tuned out of another 'Skins game no matter how bad we looked.

That doesn't make sense, Gibbs has only been back 4 years. So this will be his 4th trip to Dallas. I think we've won 3 out of the last 4, i believe.

I've always felt that the play should have been ruled a fumble, recovered by Walt Harris. Crayton made the catch and turned upfield (made a football move) just as Taylor made the kill shot. I also noticed for the first time that it was Springs's blitz that forced Bledsoe to get rid of the ball. I wish Gregg Williams would start sending Springs on occasional blitzes as he did in '04 and '05.

Maybe we should call the NFL and have them over turn that win. Even better why not just cancel the game this week because we already have lost and this way we can avoid any injuries.

I have our 2006, 35-7 trouncing of Dallas on DVD. Every time we dip below .500 I pop it in to cheer myself up. Still brings a smile to my face for a good 2 hours every time I watch it.

What sad is you have to look at a game from a year ago to cheer yourself up, and all Cowboy fans have to do is look at last weekend, and look forward to this weekend.

There ya go! Thats the spirit! Have not seen much of a positive outlook on this site this week, and that is a breath of fresh air!

Most folks are all "gloom and doom" about the game, but this is Redskins/Cowboys week, if that alone does not get you blood moving, I don't know what will!

Funny thing is you have had more positive things to say about this team than our own fans have. Its Dallas week and I always think of these games as throw out the records of both teams because it never seems to matter. On paper Dallas may look alott better but football is not played on paper. We have allot of talent on this team and players that are getting a chance to make a name for themself. So we will see and its always more fun to beat Dallas on their own field.

Thanks man, I have good reason to NOT get too cocky about my teams good start. It is a little thing I like to call "History" read on to some facts and numbers I found and I hope it helps motivate those of you who feel "not-so-confident" about Sundays game:

Good post a many memories have come from some of those games. You left out, as most Dallas fans do the Moss/ Brunell Monday Night finish. As most Dallas fans were in bed falling to sleep thinking the game was well in hand Gibbs/Moss/Brunell were on the sidelines thinking of what to do. After Dallas dominated the first 55min. the skins only needed 5 to ruin their night. We all remamber the two long bombs and look of Dallas fans as the skin grasped a last minute victory. The funny part was all those Dallas fans which went to bed had to wake up to here of the news. I think I even heard a loud "WHAT" as ESPN announced the finally score that morning.

I think the article I found mainly concentrated on the RECORDS of the two teams leading up to the game.

If I remember correctly, the Monday night Moss Miracle, both teams were deeply embedded in mediocrity.

The article I found stresses the "11-0 Redskins" and the "10-2 Cowboys", basically pointing out the disparity between the two.

This Sunday certainly qualifies with an 8-1 vs a 5-4.

The only difference this time around to me, is I don't think the Skins have the "horse power" to stay with the Cowboys, unless Romo makes mistakes or the Cowboys turn it over. The 2007 Skins make too many mental mistakes, penalties at the wrong time, bad clock managment, timeout issues, ect. And even with help, they have to play every game to the last snap. It is frustrating to fans of Joe Gibbs, that this Skins team is so mistake ridden!

I attended that game, and a number of Skins fans poured to the exits as soon as Whitten burned Archuleta to set up Vanderjagt's game winning attempt. Too many crazy finishes have happened in this rivalry to ever give up when the game is close at the end like that.

Dallas has only gotten better where Washington is almost the same as last year with some minor additions.

Dallas has gotten a lot better on both sides. The O-line has improved and the O all together is clicking. Even a healthy Skins defense would have not been able to stop them, IMO. The D has a healthy Ellis and Ware is going to chit chat with JC a little this weeken as he picks him from the turf.

The Dallas D was much more vulnerable to the pass because your safeties cannot cover like Taylor and Landry.

I beleive in the importance of good D, but without a good offense to go along with it, it doesn't mean much in TODAY's NFL.

The NFL is much more offense-orriented these days that they came up with so many rules so the the fans at home and in the stadiums can see more TDs. No "touching" after 5 yards, no horse collar, no "touching" the face mask, too many pass-interference calls, protecting the QB too much...etc.

We can go on and on about who would have a better D if it wasn't for injuries. But we all know which of the two has a beter offense that can actually score.
