Very proud of the team today even in a loss
JC has arrived, if Taylor was out there it could have been a different game.
Overall I'm proud of the effort out there today. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Campbell played good untill the game was on the line and he choked.
|
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Same here. Even though it was a loss, they showed a lot today, IMO.
|
Great game regardless of loss
Nobody expected the skins to play the way they played today, we missed ST. Lots of positives from this loss. We have a QB, our offensive line played well, WR's played well.
Negatives: T.O. coverage was poor and no adjustment by GW. |

Overall I'm proud of the effort out there today.
Very true. Taylor and Rogers in this game and I think we walk out 6-4. JC rocks. I feel so bad for him that it seems like his best games statistically end up being loses. The kid is a baller. One of these days we'll get this whole team firing on ALL cylinders and we'll be unstoppable. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
I concur!
|
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Yes. I would have to agree with you Matty. We played well, and we had our chance to win. Jason Campbel is going to be a great QB. I am very happy about the future of our Club. And we still have a shot at the playoffs. It's going to take one hell of a run at the damn thing, but I think our guys will FIGHT THIER GUTS OUT!! Love ya gibbs.

Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
I second that wholeheartedly. This was supposed to be a blowout in every sense of the word but we made it a game. Only one group of the team collapsed, in our secondary, and otherwise the play was really respectable.
Great game from the sidelines as well. Clock mgmt was right there w/ NFL standards, coaches got the hell out of JC's way when we held the ball, etc, etc. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Its a learning expereince. He needs to feel the hurt of losing a CLOSE one in Dallas. This will help us, besides, we showed today which alot of us did not predict. If Taylor were out there, the deep stuff would have been limited. Good job Skins'

Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
This team is going to finish strong down the stretch. Although any chance of catching the Cowboys just flew out the window, this team will be a force down the stretch, and has a good shot at getting the 6th seed, IMO.
The only thing that could derail this momentum is if we lose next week because ST doesn't make it back. Tampa is a very good team, but if we get health back, we can take them. Great offensive game called today. There's a lot to like about this offense going forward. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Campbell played GREAT today overall... a couple of balls got away from him today that could have really kept us in it; but his overall performace was great. I totally agree if ST was playing at LEAST 2 of TOs tuchdowns dont happen and one of them would have been picked. Never thought i would be happy for this team in a loss but today on the road we showed that we can play with the best of the NFC. They actually did 'fight their guts out today' and im glad we stepped it up. HAIL!

Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
My prediction is that on 12/30/07 they are going to be facing a very vicious Skins team and that we WILL win at home.
|
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Tough break, but this is a learning experience for Jason and overall a good thing. JC is our qb, and now we can move toward filling out the rest of our team. It's not as depressing as it could have been, but they made plays and we didn't, which is why they're 9-1 and we're 5-5. Moral victories suck though...

They will probably be resting their starters by that point :( |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
That was a hell of a game!
Skins had a chance to win the ballgame towards the end. Good Team Effort, let's see what happends at Fed Ex. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
If there was ever a thing such as a 'good loss' this was it..
We saw the future of the Redskins offense in Jason Campbell.. I have NO problem with Campbell throwing 40+ times a game, the pass will open up the running game.. He's a beast waiting to happen, just let him play.. This should be the blueprint for how the offense is run the rest of the season.. We've seen how much we miss Taylor and need another playmaker develop on defense.. Landry has shown flashes, he needs to develop consistency and increase his big plays and I think he will.. Someone is going to have to step up and close out games for us down the stretch.. Grilliams star continues to fade quickly, seems like last year was a foreshadowing of who really are on defense.. Those being said, I am more encouraged after today's game against a VERY GOOD opponent on the road.. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
You all may read this game as a prelude for Campbell's success in the future. I do not. It could easily be his signature for future such losses. Missed the open man for a touchdown and consistently threw behind his receivers. If the Cowvomits don't play prevent defense, we're not even having this conversation to begin with.

I don't think there is a question that we will win. Dallas has a good shot of having home field on a lock by then. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Campbell played good untill the game was on the line and he choked.
News flash: when you're down by multiple scores in the 4th, EVERY DOWN "the game is on the line" and Jason made one mistake out of how many huge 3rd down conversions and one MASSIVE 4th down convert? If you're going to bag on the kid for trying to make something happen there, you need to give him credit for the 12 play, 74 yard drive he led the drive before, because the game was very much "on the line" during that drive as well. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Ussually I disagree, but I have to agree....This team "played their guts out" today..and not just cause Gibbs said so.

If our entire secondary isn't in shreds, and Springs was able to cover TO just once, you're not even posting that utter wad of dingo's kidneys, either. |

Well you're definitely in the minority on this one, even amongst the haterades. For myself, I'm very encouraged by how the Redskins played today. The absence of Sean Taylor is what lost the game for us today, but Jason Campbell has finally arrived. Like what someone else said earlier, this should be the blueprint for how our offense works down the stretch and in the future. Even without Sean Taylor, I do believe this team can go 5-1 down the stretch. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Everyone,
I understand you don't like my opinion. Heck...I hate my opinion. I hate myself for having it. Self-loathing aside, Campbell is not a lock and we, as a team, can easily finish 1-5 instead of 5-1. That's where we are right now. Rightly or wrongly. Justly or unjustly. |

Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
As weird as it sounds, this loss feels WAY better than the loss to Philly last week.
That's saying a lot, given that we played Dallas. |

I'm proud how they fought today. Damn I wish Taylor was there to wipe the smirk off TO's grill.

At least we took Dallas' best punch falling behind by 12 in the 4th quarter, and damn near coming back to take the lead. Campbell barely missed Moss for that go ahead score. I'm very proud of Campbell's play today. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
When we lost to the Giants, it was all about allowing a team completely on the ropes to get back in the game, made even worse by a failure to convert when inside the 5 at the end of the game. When we lost to the Packers, it was all about a gazillion dropped balls and missed opportunities. When we lost to the Patriots, we all wondered how we could be that much worse than the best team in football. And when we lost to the Eagles, it was the Giants all over again.
But this was completely different. This was a loss where I thought, "Okay, this was nothing more than a tough game in which the opposition simply played a little bit better than us today." This was a road game against a very good team, and they won only because they were able to exploit our injuries. Nothing bad to be derived from this game, other than that we really miss our starters who are injured. That alone separates this from the other losses. This has to be a confident-boosting game, and not just for JC, but for the defense and the entire receiving corps as well. Atta boys! Now let's go beat those Bucs! Oh, and JC--my man--just work a little on leading your receivers. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
I might agree, and sure I was drunk TOTALLY, but seriously did that ball from Rocky hit the ground? I thought he had his arm underneath it.
|
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
Ups to Matty. This was the team I thought we could yield this year. We were never going to be a 13 or 14 win team but I thought we could play like we did today all year. Maybe we can go forward and do what we did today play wise against everyone. If we do then we'll win our fair share.

We got outplayed by just a hair by the best team in the conference. I'm really upset/disspointed, but theres no shame in this loss like therew as last week/vs GB/vs NY/vs GB. |
Re: Very proud of the team today even in a loss
I also am proud of the the team. But, I am concerned that the D is giving up the big play again. I know part of it is Sean Taylor's absense, but how do we let TO beat us for TDs three and four. Why didn't we stick him at the line every time after he burned us twice?
