Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
Skins/Bucs games are always close and this will be no exception. The Skins playoff lives are on the line and if that can get them fired up to win nothing will.

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
You know every time I picked the 'Skins, they lose (except last Sunday of course). But almost every time I pick against them, they win.
Tampa Bay - 20 Washington - 17 And since sandtrap picked'em, it is a certain "kiss of death" for the Buccaneers. |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
If the Skins show up, I could really see them pounding Tampa Bay. Hanging like 42 points on them - seriously.
Skins 42 Bux 16 |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
I see it as a 35-16 victory for the Skins with Portis goes over 100 yards and Campbell goes for 250 yards and 3 Tds.

Skins 42 Bux 16[/quote] You do realize that tampa has the #6 ranked defense and are #3 against the pass. But they are very mediocre against the run ranked something like 16th. But, they are only surrendering 16 points per game on average. For Washington to win they will have to run, run, run. |

And we will run and pass, and score. We want a lot more! Does anyone realize we have the same number of wins as last year, with six to go? |

skins 17-14 these games with the bics always comes down to who can make a play when it counts...

I love how they keep scheduling us games with the Bucs, they always come down to the wire. That being said:

Conservative game plan. Skins 17

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
Redskins 24
Bucs 17 Campbell has confidence now and Moss is back to his old safe. Couple that with Clinton Portis and we have a nice day against the Bucs. It will be a close game throughout though. |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
It's going to be all about Portis, Betts and Sellers this weekend...Tampa always has a good defense, so the Skins will have to use a power run game to open up some passing lanes. Make Tampa bring 7 and 8 in the box and then go up top.
Garcia is having a very good year, finding Galloway at will. Earnest Graham is really solidifying himself as the backup to Cadillac (when he returns next year of course). Stop Galloway and Graham, and you stop the Bucs. Redskins 16 Bucs 13 |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
Skins 33
Bucs 17 Hail! And... this game will look totally lopsided on paper, with the Skins controlling the ball for twice as long and racking up almost twice the yards. Bucs get points off of screw ups in the secondary like we saw last Sunday. But guess what fellas, TO and Tony Homo only play for one team, there won't be 4 friggin TD passes against us this Sunday. |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
Redskins 24, Bucs 13. The perfect gift for Joe Gibbs on his birthday (I think SUnday is his birthday)
Play of the game (possibly the year) occurs during the first drive of the 3rd quarter when the Redskins take a 17-10 lead (they get the 2-point cnoversion) after Clinton Portis throws a 22 yard TD pass...to Jason Campbell! Laron Landry seals the victory with a late sack. |

Bucs 21 Galloway get's 2 TD's early... but Skins will rally. Jason Campbell will be clutch in the goal line. He'll gain 75+ yds on the ground. |

Skins 21 Bucs 20
It's on the road so should be a tough one |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
This will be a tough one. Tampa is really good on defense again and they will pose some problems with us moving the ball. Not sure if our D can stop their passing game to be honest.

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
What is the status of Sean Taylor? If he is out of this game, it could mean trouble with Garcia throwing the ball to Hilliard and/or Galloway.

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
It all has do do with whether or not ST plays. Assuming so:
23-15 Redskins |

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
Skins will pound the ball early and often with Portis, Betts, and Sellers. JC will have an average but efficient day. No turnovers on offense, and we'll get a special teams score
Skins win in a tough battle 30-24 |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
High running game plan:
Skins 18 Bucs 14 Lots of passing: Skins 7 Bucs 28 Bucs will get at least one long TD pass. Limit their offensive touches and it will be only one. Pound the ball and there will be no turnovers (unless Betts gets more than 5 carries). Throw it around and the opportunistic Bucs will grab one. |

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
Wow, how quickly we forget how bad our defense has become.
First it was Westbrook, then it was T.O., now we have to deal with Joey Galloway and Jeff Garcia (who is still a very good quarterback). I've seen nothing to indicate that the Skins will be able to bottle up yet another explosive player. I just don't see how we're going to go up against a quality opponent on their field and come away with a win. Bucs 34 Skins 19 |

Bucs are a decent team, best in the NFC south. Redskins 21 bucs 20 the Defense makes a late game stand.

Conversely, what's it take you to realize that we score big time when Campbell is set free. |

Our defense will make a late game stand in your dreams. We can't play D and will lose unless we come out throwing. Try a little reality with your "Redskins football." |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
Indy scored the most points against them this year winning 33-14. Manning had 253 yards passing, Kenneth Kieth 121 yards rushing, Anthony Gonzalez 71 yards receiving. I am going to predict a similar outing by the Skins.
Skins- 30 Bucs-20 Jason Campbell- 235 yards passing Clinton Portis- 155 yards rushing Cooley- 70 Yards receiving Moss- 100+ yards receiving Skins O plays mistake free football (save a false start or two that JC bails them out of), they will run at will and mix in the pass, and rarely put themselves in 3rd and long situations, and even when they do JC does his thing. JC spreads the ball out well, we keep them guessing, and controll the game from the get go. Skins D plays well holding them on most drives and when they get into the redzone they hold them to field goals, but they give up two big plays for TD's, giving them hope late in the fourth being down only by 3, but Campbell methodically marches down the field and gets the late drive win finally, taking too much time off the clock for a legitimate chance for the bucs to come back, they put one up deep and Landry gets a pick to end the game. |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
I see the dreamers are out in force again this week.
Skins 13-21 Bucs |
Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions
I just read last night Sellers is doubtful for the game, which is a huge negative for our rushing attack. I'm way less confident about this Sunday now. Maybe, as others have suggested in the past, we should have Betts and Portis in at the same time and create some misdirection for the defense. Betts could also lead block for Portis in certain situations too.

I find it so funny that everyone thinks we are just going to go on down to TB and win this game. TB's defense has really been playing much better than last year. Until our defense plays better I don't see us winning this game.

I hadn't heard that about Sellers. Shit. I knew his back was bothering him a few days ago. If he's out it will also hurt the passing game in certain situations because Cooley will have to stay in and block more. Tampa has the 3rd best pass D in the NFL, and this game is huge for them. Plus it's in their house. We're coming off a loss, we've only won 3 of our last 8 games... I'm sorry if I don't share the same optimism this week as most of the other people around here. This is going to be a tough, tough game. I say Redskins in a tight one, 20-17. |
