Chadiha settting the record straight about Taylor on ESPN

This is what Wilbon and Cowherd should have been saying yesterday.

The fact that he was getting his life straightened out makes this all the more depressing and frustrating.

Wow, that was great. I hope this is the article that starts getting repeated everywhere over the previous ones that made it seem like he was just some thug who couldn't give up his troubled past.

Agreed. That's what SHOULD have been written yesterday, not the same recycled garbage we were forced to read.

I'm so disappointed in Wilbon. Of all people, being a local reporter and all. You would think, he of all people, could put things into perspective. He failed, and failed horribly.

This man died defending his home, his child, and his fianance. He died the way any man could hope for. He sacrificied his own life for his family. He will be in heaven. We will get to see him some day. It is really sad to see someone go though.

Unfortunately, it's true. I think he's all about the Bears, which is fine, and trying to be witty on T.V.

Wilbon was on Redskins Radio this morning and had a much more somber tone. I think he regrets some of his comments yesterday, but who knows. Regardless, this article is much better, he is the only reporter who doesn't hold a grudge against Taylor for his decision to distance himself from the media.

I have an 11 month old daughter who craws to meet me everyday when I come home from work smiling and happy to see me and now his young daughter has no dad to craw up too. This is the hardest part of this whole story which really hits me the hard because I guess I have a new born. What is really sad is this happens everyday as a child looses their father or mother to senseless killings.

Wilbon said he wasn't suprised by the shooting. Wasn't the first time and didn't think it would the be the last time.

Wilbon is just misinformed and flat out wrong. I heard Taylor's lawyer on Redskins Radio talk about the 2005 case last night, and it just put the whole case in perspective. But Wilbon saying he wasn't surprised is stunning, especially considering Taylor was gunned down in his own home. This senseless act was stunning to me, and that Kornheiser and Wilbon were not shocked was weird to me. These are local guys, but they too seem to have bought in to the media hype around Sean. Kudos to Jeffrey Chadiha at ESPN.com.

You can add Shapiro to the Wilbon list.

One of my coworkers (a Bucs fan) actually called ST a dumbass for going to his house after it was broken into. WTF??? It was SEAN TAYLOR'S HOUSE, he can go there anytime he damn well feels like it! Don't blame Sean, blame the worthless waste of DNA that shot him. I hope they find the corksucker who did this and fry him...or better yet, lock him in a room with the Redskins' defense. :smashfrea

Not really. They live here and work here but their hearts are elsewhere. Kornheiser is from New York and Wilbon is from Chicago. Their interest in the Redskins is professional only.

I didn't hear Cowherd today, but yesterday, before Sean had passed, I thought his tone was entirely inappropriate.

You know what pisses me off? How they keep bringing up the late hit fines he got. He was a safety, one who played the game with abandon. Players like that get fined. When they bring up Mr. Republican charity golf tournament champion John Lynch do they feel the need to mention all the times he has been fined? It's as if they think Sean's whole purported connection to the ghetto was even evidenced in his play.

A young man is murdered and I can't think of anything less revelant then uniform violations from two years ago.......

Yeah, I just saw the thing on ESPN about his life and career and after they noted how good he was they just went off listing all the bad things he has done in his career, despicable.

My point is that Lynch is a clean cut white guy so the media doesn't feel the need to bring up the multiple late infractions he has incurred over the years. With Sean they do, even in death, and it's as if they are suggesting that his "rough" background was even evidenced in his penchant for illegal plays. My position is that the hardest hitting safeties tend to get fined, it's the nature of the position. I guess I am just struggling to understand why that is important to discuss at this point.

Understand?

You know, Mister ArtMonkforhalloffame07 man, of all that I have read on this site, I have to say that this is the most thoughtful, sincere and touching thing I have come across. My brother woke me up at 8:15 this morning to tell me about ST and I did not cry until reading your thoughts.

His shoes are ones that are almost impossible to fill, ball carriers feared him and any good quarterback out there was looking for him on the field. ST skill is what I consider our defensive version of Tom Brady....everything he does looks effortless and almost natural, and unfortunately a skill that is very hard to come by. Who gives a shit about his past when its only the NOW that matters. If one were to judge a person I would hope they would focus on what matters most, family. To me, it sounds like Sean is a hero....one that I hope that his daughter will be proud of.

I hope that I have been able to express my thoughts the way I wanted to. I know my prayers are with his family and his close friends and team members. God Bless

Don't really know where to put this, but Antonio Pierce is on Comcast Sportsnet right now and he just said what we've all been thinking. He said that he was very disappointed in the way most of the media treated Taylor today. He said that ST worked harder on and off the field than most guys including all the pro bowlers.
He also think that our players will come out and play their asses off for Sean. He actually said that he feels sorry for whatever offense has to face this defense.

I hope I can find a clip of this online later because you can tell that Pierce loved Sean even though he didn't seem to know him all that well.
Jim Rome was knocking his colleagues on this matter as well
I feel like a lot of the articles that were written later in the day were a lot more respectful and I was glad to see that. I guess most of the early articles were just based off of that first AP story, which sucked.
