What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Taylor?
I think mine is the same for both I always loved how he was the only Starting safety that didnt wear gloves. It always made him stand apart in my opinion and I wont ever forget that. It was like his signature or something. Just the finger tape.

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
The fact that he could have been a huge star with dozens of endorsments. It just seems that he didn't want to be an entertainer or spokesmodel (Peyton, Deion.) He was just a football player.

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
I remember how psyched I was the day we drafted him. I was yelling at the TV like an idiot and running around my house. Then in the Hall of Fame game that August, his first live action, he gets an INT. Awesome.
The picture that sticks in my head is the one they've been showing of him smiling and holding his baby girl. To me it represents the man he had become. And my favorite moment was his fumble recovery for a TD in the Philly game that sealed victory and propelled us to our first playoff berth since '99. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
He always seemed so polite and calm even when everyone made him out to be a monster and a Bad Guy,He was truly one of a kind and nobody can replicate the way he played and the way he was in his Life.

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
My favorite Sean Taylor moment or moments is every single time he hit T.O., god I'm gonna miss that.
The image of ST that will always be in my mind is him with that fro in pre-game warm ups before the Monday night Philly game. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
I remember once when he was a rookie and wearing 36 we played Pittsburg and he came up and knocked the snot out of Bettis, who was also wearing 36, and did a little "hump dance" over the top of Bettis, who looked shocked that some rookie he outweighed just lifted him off the ground and stuffed him at the line...
My other fav. was when we were playing the Vikes and (God I don't remember the back's name...) they were on the goal line about to punch it in and ST picked that bastard straight up off the ground and drove him backward one on one... the only thing between the back and the goalline was ST, but it may as well have been a freight train. |

That's right! HAHA! Great ST moment right there. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
I'll always remember in the ring of horror game, after Moss's second TD. The cowboys were driving and I believe Bledose throws to Clayton for a 1st and Sean comes up and leaves a huge hit for an incomplete. The ball went flying from the recievers hands.

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
Loved his style, he was just a bad dude. Remember when he taped up his face mask, or wore the crazy socks, or sported a mean fro for a while?
|
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
The way he could swoop in a pick a fumble off a bounce (Eagles, Bucs, Cowboys) and take off without ever losing his speed or focus was an unbelievably remarkable athletic skill that I compare to the best moves of the likes of Barry Sanders, Michael Jordan, and Wayne Gretzky.

Yeah he was silky smooth. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
Definitely his work ethic.
The guy played every game, every down like the game counted on him making a play. Chasing down guys from behind, just throwing himself 110% into the game. And he did it and wasn't flashy about it. Some guys know they're so good and show off. Outside of that ONE incident where he spit on Pittman (And that guy's an ass anyway), ST to me was a class act. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
The thing I remember was the first time I saw him play in person. I only get to maybe one game a year and I think this was a pre-season game against Carolina. I just remember looking at how big he was and that he looked like a tall linebacker. I couldn't believe how big he looked compared to all the skill guys. He really looked like a man among boys. He earned his nickname "Swoop" because watching a guy that big cover as much ground in a short time was like watching an eagle swoop down and snatch its prey. Amazing. I've never seen anyone like him.
I still can't believe he's gone. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
My two favorite memories of Sean are the fumble recovery retuned for a TD against Philly & His pick against S.F during his rookie year. I was at the game in S.F and he was like M.J flying over his opponent for the INT. I also agree with SmootSmack that the way he could scoop up the ball with out breaking stride is something we will probably never see again. I just can’t get over how sad it is to think of all the plays he could have made in his career that were stolen from us Sunday night. Sean Taylor will truly be missed.

lol...I hate to point this out but that was Lavar Arrington in 2000. He hit Aikman so hard left a dent in his helmet...Aikman never played another down of football again... I do remember Sean blasting Owens into the Eagles bench his rookie year and TO coming back out whining and begging for a flag... God ST :owned: TO |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
My favorite Sean Taylor play was that play in the playoffs in 05 when he scooped up the ball and ran in for a TD right after he hit the 5 or so he dove and soared into the endzone.
Ill miss he charisma on the field he was a total gamer always gave it his all. Ill think of ST every play when someone throws to the middle of the field. |

Duh...yes it was. Sorry, just so many things ST has done on the field I'm just not thinking right. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
That game in 05 in Philly...
Taylor diving into the endzone and securing our first trip to the playoffs of Gibbs return. Gonna miss him. Rest In Peace. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
How about the fact that with one of his picks in the game against Green Bay this year. He made Brett Favre the career leader in INT's.
I also love watching any hit he put on TO. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
His attitude after the birth of his child.
|
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
I was at Fed Ex when we beat Dallas on the blocked FG. I was right behind the goal posts they were kicking to, and saw the block, and then saw Sean swoop around and take the ball. We were screaming at the tops of our lungs--Taylor had the ball, and we knew we were going to win. He didn't get the TD, but he set up the winning FG. But in my mind I can see him still, scooping up the ball and just GOING. A true play-maker, when it mattered most. Gives me goosebumps to think about.

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
I loved the fear he instilled in top flight receivers, particularly T.O. and Randy Moss, neither of whom ever had a big game with #21 patrolling the middle.
For a single moment, Taylor's Superman dive into the end zone on a fumble return to beat Philly and clinch a playoff berth was my favorite highlight. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
his first game ever in a skins uniform the HOF game in Canton. he had one INT in the endzone to save a TD, and then got another INT on like the broncos 5 and ran it in for a TD.

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
There are so many plays that I remember from him, but the big ones have been pointed out in this thread so I'm gonna name one that I remember from him. In 2005 when we were playing the Chiefs, I think it was Priest Holmes that had the ball, n Holmes got turned around and Sean Taylor hit him in the back and the ball popped out like he'd just gotten hit by a freight train, and one of the Chiefs o-linemen caught it.
There were just so many incredible plays made by him that it was hard to just pick one. Every time he got the ball in his hands I knew it was a huge play that could swing the momentum of the game to us. If he had played a few more years at his natural free safety position there is no doubt in my mind that he would've been remembered as one of the best ever to play the game. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
My favorite was the hit on Crayton in Sept. 2005. I thought that play was as big as either of Santana's TDs in terms of stopping Dallas and preserving the comeback.

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
I gotta say it was all the hits. He was such a tough hard hitting player. I also loved the fact that he never seemed to forget that he had a gift, he never got over the awe of being an NFL player and he never seemed to act like he had it coming or people owed him anything. You have to love that.

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
I like the photo of him on the Warpath front page. The way the paint under his eyes would be all worn off by game's end. He never wore the stuff that could peel off and on, he wore the real shit. And like Quake said, he never wore gloves or too much padding around his arms and such. Just raw - let's rock and roll, baby!
Taylor was a warrior. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
He was a HARD hitter, and the best safety to ever strap on a pair of cleats.. and he was only there for such a short time :( RIP Sean Taylor

Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
I have many. In the Broncos game 2 years ago, Tatum Bell ran up the middle and there was a pile up and Sean Taylor ran in there at full speed and then you saw him driving Bell back about 5 yards.
-Also when the Skins played the Cardinals in the playoff year and JJ Arrington curled up when he saw Taylor coming on that 4th and 1. -Him shutting Randy Moss down in that Vikings game. -The Terry Glenn Alligator arms play. -In the Chargers game he met Antonio Gates when the ball got to him and stuck him driving him to the ground. Taylor sat on Gates and beat his chest afterwards. -Most of all the Patrick Crayton hit. I mean talk about seeing the play and getting to the man with the ball. It wasn't so much that the ball popped out but the way that he hit Crayton, lifted him up and flipping over while driving him into the turf. I'm going to miss seeing that guy play. |

I loved the way he recovered fumbles while never breaking stride. That was amazing especially in the TB playoff game. I thought for sure that he was gonna fall down there. |

That should have been called a fumble. |
Re: What is your favorite thing and the thing you will always remember about Sean Tay
he was the best hitter in the league since ronnie lott.i never so anybody play safety the way he did,i mean the guy had no fear on the field.i hope the redskins retire number 21 at the last home game this season.seeing anybody else with that number just could never be the same.
