Cowboys-Redskins rivalry WE'RE BACK!

If the Redskins take care of business against Minnesota, it will bring back to life the greatest rivalry in the NFL.

With Dallas losing to Philly, they will have to win out to secure home field, so look for all the starters to play in the final regular season game.

And if the Skins beat Minnesota, there is a wildcard spot on the line for them.

Just like the good old days. 'Boys-'Skins final game of the season with playoff implications on both sides of the ball.

Shaping up to be the game of the year in the NFC East!

All of this is mute if the Saints beat the Eagles this Sunday... I said it in another post, there is NO WAY that the Saints lose to the Bears in Week 17. The Bears are just Horrible!!! If the Saints win out the Skins are done.

Teams to cheer for in Week 16.
1st:Cowboys to beat the Panthers on Saturday, result, they have nothing to play for in Week 17 and rest starters.

2nd: Eagles beat the Saints at 1pm on Sunday, result, Redskins have hope Sunday night.

3rd, Giants get beat by the Bills, result, Giants will lose to the Pats in Week 17, Redskins control their own destiny.

I agree with all but the last. If the Cowboys rest their starters so be it, but what is the point of backing into the playoffs? If you can't beat the Cowboys at FedEx with everything on the line in December then what are you proving by making the Playoffs? If we can manage to beat the Vikings at their place then I say WE WANT DALLAS (and I'll be there is Sec. 434 :))

This is what I was hoping for. I wouldn't have it any other way than for both starters to meet each other. It would have been lame for the Cowboys to be resting their starters and the Redskins to beat their "second team" just to eek into the playoffs.

Does anyone know if the Skins-Cowboys game can be switched to Sunday night (sorry if this has already been asked). I saw that there are some restrictions to how many prime-time games a team can play and the Cowboys have already been on a bunch of primetime games.

Yeah, I agree with the previous sentiment. I want Dallas week 17 at home with their starters on the field. I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about the atmosphere in the city the week before that game.

You make the Saints sound unbeatable. They most certainly are beatable and have been beaten 7 times by the likes of the Rams, Panthers, and Texans.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Beating Minn on the road with all the people we have out is going to a real tough thing to do. All I'm thinking about is Minn.

Nope, cannot happen because Dallas has already been scheduled or moved into 7 national market spots this season. That is the maximum allowed. So the Flex Scheduling cannot apply to the Cowboys the rest of the year.

Dallas' problem is that they have a celebrity QB. Remember Parcells' admonition in his "QB Commandments"? We don't need celebrity QB's, we need generals. They're going nowhere. Wade Phillips is a joke. The Rdskins will crush them in the finale. They will fail to make the SB. TO will throw a fit. You could already see him coming unglued against Philly. What a piece of shit he is.

We shouldnt be thinking about this game yet. We still have Minnesota. Their good and its at their place. They have Petersen and the number 1 ranked rushing defense. One game at a time people.

Cowboys will not play starters against the Redskins. (unfortunately) They will not risk injury when they are already in the playoffs.

while i would love to have the Dallas game in December that actually means something, the redskins playoffs actually start this week against Minn. one loss from here on in and its over. but a playoff game against the cowboys at home gives me wood:)

Problem? Problem? 12 wins to 2 losses, Clinched the division, Clinched a first round bye. A win this week clinches home field. The HC is 12-2 in his first season. 11 players selected to the Pro Bowl. Highest rated QB in the conference. Highest ranked offense in the conference.

Sorry I just do not see a problem.

And you can forget about that T.O. crap. Everybody everywhere has been saying for 2 years that same thing. But all evidence to the contrary, Owens has stepped up as a leader on this team. He has been a model team mate, he is extremely active in the charitable arena in the Dallas area, but you are not allowed to see those things on Sportscenter.

the skins need to handle their buisness with the vikings first...

If they have to win to avoid going to Lambeau field in the playoffs, they WILL play their starters.

Yes, and he led the NFL in dropped passes last year. :)

And leads the NFC in reception yards, yards per catch, yards per game and, oh yeah....receiving touchdowns.

THIS YEAR!

blah blah blah TO this, blah blah blah TO That...it's a shame that he has to be such a head case...Million Dollar Talent with a 10 cent head.

If the Cowboys/Skins game cannot be flexed, they will most likely move it into the 4pm slot...but it's nice to see another Cowboys/Skins game worth a damn.

Re: Cowboys-Redskins rivalry WE'RE BACK!

Who let these cowboys jokers on the site anyway? Cowboys don't deserve an ounce of attention from us until we beat Minnesota. Personally i think the cowboys are a far easier team to beat right now than minnesota. Hopefully the chicago game has given us some pointers on handling Minnesota's offense and getting in tavaris jackson's head. As of right now the cowboys game may not mean a thing to either team's postseason. So let's focus on playoff hopes first( beating minnesota). If we don't beat minnesota, then we can focus on injuring cowboys and keeping them out of the super bowl...Just read my name.

We let them on the site because they often offer up pretty good explanations and perspective from the other side of the fence.

That's a crummy attitude to have, even towards a hated rival. Wishing injury on any player is taking things a bit too far. Jeremy Shockey is one of my least favorite players in the league, but in spite of my hatred, I felt bad for him(a tiny bit) when his leg was broken.

If Washington's only hope of beating Dallas is by injuring their best players, I'd rather them not even bother showing up.

Concur, an attitude like that borders on the same attitude when Philly fans rejoiced at the tragic death of Sean Taylor. I don't think you want to be lumped in with Philly fans.

You guys just take care of business against the Vikes and then we can all enjoy a great Redskins-Cowboys game with playoff implications for each team in the season finale. Like I said....just like the good ole days.
