ROY WILLIAMS IS AN ALTERNATE!!!!
Maybe our boy LARON?!1 I don't think it is going to be him but as long as roy williams doesn't get it. Laron is second in fan voting behind roy williams 11 cowboys make it Sources: Dallas Cowboys will send 11 to Pro Bowl | Dallas Morning News | News for Dallas, Texas | SportsDay: Top Stories |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
There's two that make NO SENSE. Hamlin and Davis. WTF?!
Also, Barber is a good runner, but aren't there FAR better backs than him in the NFC? |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
no chance re: laron, but Cooley and Taylor should get nods. maybe samuels, but personally, I think he's overrated (that doesn't mean he's not VERY good, but I don't think he's a top 2 guy)
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Taylor starter
Cooley and Samuels reserves It's official. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Will Roy Williams be denied a chance to go to the Pro Bowl because of the new rule that prevents players from going the same year they were suspended by the league? Or is it only for players who violate the drug/performance enhancement policy?
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
pretty much as predicted...
good to see cooley get some praise...witten had too good a year not to be the starter.. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
roy williams is Fantastically Overrated. he can't cover anymore...but he does bring the lumber...still say he's a liability
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Roy Williams didn't make the roster but Ken Hamlin did.
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Why is nfl.com the worst website ever?
Does anyone have a link to the full rosters? |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Actually Hamlin has had a good season. Boy this whole thing is making me miss Taylor all over again.

Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Barber over Portis?
Isn't Portis 3rd in the NFC in rushing? |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Barber over Portis?
Isn't Portis 3rd in the NFC in rushing?
I really don't get that one. Barber probably has been more consistent though. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
But you forgot, there's CONSTANT coverage of how hardcore Barber is.
You must NEVER forget that. When someone is as hardcore as the media says he is, you HAVE to understand that. Popularity = talent. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Barber over Portis?
Isn't Portis 3rd in the NFC in rushing?
I would agree on the pick here, Barber has been unstoppable except for us. He's had a great season and is worthy of the pick. My man Portis has probably had about 3 or 4 good games even thought he's over 1000 yards. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
I don't know. I think Barber is a good back, but for as much coverage on how hard he runs, I see a lot of people hitting him and stopping him for VERY few yards after contact. Both him AND JJ have a high YPC. I think it's more of having THREE offensive linemen making the Pro Bowl.
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Bottom line, I'll take Portis over Barber all day and all night long.
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Portis has more yards, one less TD. Barber only beats him in YPC. I still think that's crap. Not to say Clinton should have made it either, but damn Barber?!
Just like Barber, Hamlin has had a "good" reason, but not a Pro Bowl worthy one. |

Re: Pro Bowl 2008
I've watched Barber all year and that guy runs with no disregard for his body, there's no quit on him. He's an overachiever and is as tough as nails. I would still take Portis over Barber but you have to give credit to him even if his OL helped him tremendously. I wouldn't mind having Barber on our team.
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
I am glad ST got the starting nod. He deserved it and hopefully the NFC can honor him by pulling a Grilliams and start the game without a Free Safety.
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
They should really start 10 men on the field for sean taylor. Fuck ken hamlin anyways

Just like Barber, Hamlin has had a "good" reason, but not a Pro Bowl worthy one.
If he'd gotten in over Westbrook I'd say it was a travesty. I don't really think Portis has had a season worthy of a Pro Bowl nod. That he didn't get in after the 2005 season is the real snub. If we weren't basing the thing on name recognition and the amount of Cowboy fans there are I'd say Ernest Graham actually might have deserved an invite over Barber. Still, there weren't a lot of dominant backs in the NFC this year. Apart from Westbrook and Peterson (both of whom have also missed time to injury) there really wasn't a clear cut #3. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
I think the biggest WTF is that Jonathan Ogden is on the AFC's roster. He's only played in 9 games this season and the line that he anchors keeps allowing their QBs to get injured.
Then again, it is really all about reputation. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Pro Bowl = Crap
Who cares I will take nobody on the Pro bowl team and have a 10-4 record. Can anyone say Jaguars? |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Fred Taylor got screwed, he deserved being a pro bowler.
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
I'll tell you who got snubbed, the Jaguars. Not one player made the squad.
As Spike Lee said, "We Wuz Robbed". |
I'll tell you who got snubbed, the Jaguars. Not one player made the squad.
As Spike Lee said, "We Wuz Robbed".
It would be awesome if they won the whole thing and then they tell the Pro-Bowl organizer to shove it. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Fred Taylor got screwed, he deserved being a pro bowler.
Agreed - how did Addai get in over Fred Taylor? Addai, one of five Colts on the AFC squad, has 1,019 yards rushing, 72 yards fewer than Taylor and an average of 4.1 yards per carry, a full yard less than the 31-year-old Jacksonville star. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Probably because Fred is splitting time with Jones-Drew...
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
i just read this in the comments section of the ESPN Pro Bowl article and found it pretty funny.
ASearle2 (5 minutes ago) Taylor selected to the Pro Bowl is a great thing... and somewhere Brian Moorman goes... "oh crap, not again".
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
The afc roster seems to be heavier on the name recognition over performance.
I think the nfc roster is pretty good in terms of who had the best seasons. I don't know why people here are shocked at L. Davis making it. The cowpokes o line has been outstanding & he's been a big part of it. Barber has had a great year too & has become very valuable to a great offense. He fumbled for the FIRST TIME in his career v. Detroit. Portis has put the ball on the ground a lot & has looked sluggish at times. Again, I don't understand the arguments against Barber. At least come up w/something better than Portis. Stephen Jackson is the only other guy that I can think of & he missed a no. of games. Westbrook certainly had a great year. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Andre Carter and London Fletcher should be going too
|
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Andre Carter and London Fletcher should be going too
While both Fletch and Carter are worthy, it was just a numbers game with AC. I think he's playing as good as any DE in the NFC right now. I did expect Fletcher to squeak in though. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Andre Carter and London Fletcher should be going too
AC, as someone pointed out earlier, was simply in a crowded position. The 3 guys in front of him have had huge seasons, though Osi had 6 of his sacks in one game. Don't know if he was that effective through all his games. AC certainly has played the way we need him to. Fletcher is a tough call. If we had won 10+ games he'd be in. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
One thing in the defense of the Barber, in the Barber vs Portis debate.
Barber had FAR FAR less carries than Portis and has been a solid producer all season, has not missed a game and is a beast in the red-zone. |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Probably because Fred is splitting time with Jones-Drew...
using this logic means no way Marion Barber makes it. besides, he is a part time player that cant even start on his own team. while i like him as a back, no way would anyone take him over Portis |
Re: Pro Bowl 2008
Great to see Sean Taylor, and Chris Cooley make it both of them really deserved it. Also congrats to Chris Samuels on his 5th selection.
