Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
Let the speculation begin/continue. Personally, I think we'll see the large complement of their starters for at least a quarter or two. If I recall, that's about what we did back during our last superbowl season when we played the Eagles. We were challenging for the fewest sacks (against us) in a season and almost got Rypien killed that game.

I doubt maybe the first half at most |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
The way we're playing, I honestly think we'll beat them whether they play all their guys or not. That said, I hope they all sit and the team rolls over for us!
|
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
The key starters, especially at skill positions, will be out by halftime. We already know that we won't see T.O. at all. If we control their RBs like the meeting in Dallas, I really like our chances.
|
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
I agree, they don't look too sharp right now. In fact, for the last three games Dallas hasn't looked all that great. Same for Green Bay. They just aren't looking all that impressive.
Anyone else think CP is looking forward to facing Marion Barber this week? |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
They're going to play the Redskins, dude, how could you not know that?
|
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
I honestly could care less. The roll we are on, it doesn't really matter!
We continue to play like we did tonight we will stomp the cowgirls or anyone else that gets in the way! We are hitting stride at the right time. They are just another team in the way! |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
I think they need to be smart. Romo is nursing a thumb injury and it just doesn't make any sense for them to risk him, especially now with T.O. on the shelf. Maybe their starters play the first quarter or so.

Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
Let's not forget that Brad Johnson is a good QB.

Didn't he start for the Vikes last year when they beat us? Not to mention the fact that he's won a superbowl and was, according to some, given a bad deal here when we dumped him for Jeff "I'm the King" George. GMAT _____________________ I don't have stress. I cause stress. |

Dallas week. It's on!
Make Fed Ex LOUDER and LOUDER than ever!!! BRING THE NOISE!!! |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
i could care less who lines up across from the skins. all i know is that they will be wearing those ugly ass Dallas road uniforms. and that i, as a loyal skins fan, hate their guts. to para phrase Sam Wyche, " die you dogs, die" and to quote dblanche, Dallas sucks!

yes he did, plus he beat us when he was with tampa, more than once I think too.I dont think he's lost to us since we let him go.That was one of snyders top 5 boneheaded moves of all time signing george over brad. The skins cant be relaxed here thinking dallas wont be playing their starters,I would rather have them at full strength. The cowboys have a way of ruining our party no matter who they play,I think it was in 91,we were undefeated playing dallas in washington, dallas was 0-11 I think and they beat us for I think their only win of the season, anyone remember paul palmer? SKINS CANNOT TAKE THIS GAME LIGHTLY thinking dallas wont be at full strength |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
Well thanks to the Bears it officially makes this season finale a "punt game".
Owens will not play, he will get 3 weeks to heal that ankle sprain. Gurode and Romo probably will sit as well. Barber will get limited carries and Tyson Thompson will most likely get a lot of playing time. Although, it is highly possible that Terry Glenn will make his season debut, so we MIGHT see Romo in the first quarter. I can promise you that the coaching staff will be treating this like a preseason game. A punt game for Dallas who has secured the #1 seed in the playoffs. Washington will win this game. Then they will have to earn the right to come to Texas Stadium and play a real game. |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
all i,m going to say is dallas is on the schedule and thats who the skins need to worry about and prepare for only.....your right dallas has it all locked up and they deserve it but come january and a possible visit to texas stadium in the playoffs would be extra special to an already heated rivalry.
i,m seeing the boys play their starters for a half at least.. |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
What did the Chargers do last year when they clinched homefield and a 1st round bye? I bet Wade Phillips will do the opposite, since San Diego ended up loosing to B More at home after the bye.
I kinda feel like San Diego rested their starters. If thats the case I see Wade keeping everone whos not hurt in the whole game, maybe Romo only half the game. |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
We just have to take care of our own business no matter who's lined up on the other side.
That being said the early word seems to be that Dallas will rest most of their key guys. Makes sense for them, they have absolutely nothing to play for. |

Round one of Landry/Peterson to Landry. Nuff said.

i don't. I hope they play no one and let us win. This game will be remembered a good deal if they try their hardest but it can't compare to the skins vs. Dallas in the playoffs. That will be the biggest game since the last super bowl. |

Glenn's given us problems in the past as well. Anybody know more about his playing status? |

Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
It doesn't matter who they start, we are playing inspired football right now. I do not even delieve that the PAT's could beat us right now.

Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
Heres a little commentary from Wade:
On how long they would play the starters: "We have not decided that yet. Whoever we have in there we feel like we can win with. That is how we are going to play the game." Conference Calls: Phillips, Ellis I think you can take his Q&A either way, I kinda feel like they're gonna be playing all healthy starters the whole game as long as it remains close. I guess lets just do all we can and make as much noise as possible. And dont forget to buy those 2 beers before the end of the 3rd quater, that can be vital. |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
The biggest thing they have to play for is 14 wins, which would be a franchise record. Jerry Jones would love to do that I'm sure.
I see them playing tough for a half, but not having much intensity in the 2nd half. If we can't grind it out & play ball control O in the 2nd half, we don't deserve it anyway. I do see Dallas' O having some incentive to play hard w/Johnson & Glenn in there. |

They have nothing to gain by playing their starters. The key quote is this "Whoever we have in there we feel like we can win with." That means look for the backups to see significant action. |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
Part of me wants to see Dallas but their first team out there so we can beat them streight up. The other half says if they wat to rest their guys then great if it makes an easier win for us. I would love to see the Skins have this game wraped up in the first half and just have fun playing in the second. Less stress on us fans and team!!!

Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
Honestly I'm not sure it would matter who Dallas plays and for how long, if only because of the way the Cowboys will prepare for this game and the mindset of the players coming in to it.
The players know this is basically a preseason game for them and they're just not going to come in to this game hungry and ready to go for a full 4 quarters. Meanwhile for the Redskins the entire season is on the line. At this time of year the team that needs the game more typically wins. And I think a lot of that is due to the mental aspect of the game. If a team doesn't need the game, they just don't approach the game in the same manner. The Skins should be fired up and ready to rock in this one, and Dallas could come out flat. That's no fault to them though, they've earned the right to rest their starters. If the Skins were in the same situation, I would fully expect Gibbs to maybe play the starters for a series or two and then pull them out. No need to risk any key injuries. |
Re: Who's Dallas Going to Play on Sunday?
It's skins-boys--anything could happen. And even Dallas's backups are good, and psyched to show they deserve time. As mentioned, Brad Johnson always gives us fits--he's not going to make the sorts of mistakes that Eli and and the vikes QB made.
Gotta bring our best--all the work, all the pain of the year, comes down to this! |
