HOF announcement today
Eighteen finalist for the 2008 Hall of Fame will be announced today at 5pm. The NFL network is covering it. Monk, Green, Jacoby and Grimm all the way!!!

Re: HOF annoucemnt today
This has to be Monks year.
*crossing my fingers* |
Re: HOF annoucemnt today
MOnk, Green & Grimm all are worthy. Would be cool if they got in together. Jacoby had a great career but I think he was more of an overachiever than a great LT.

Re: HOF annoucemnt today
It would suck if Green, Jacoby, and Grimm bumped Monk out.

Re: HOF announcement today
I would be AMAZED if Monk is not a finalist... he just get's screwed on the final cut
|
Re: HOF announcement today
Let's hope folks.

Re: HOF announcement today
This is Monks year. I just have this feeling he's finally going to get in. Green should make it as well.

Monk, Green and Grimm make the cut.

As should be, now if we can start by getting at least 2 of the 3 inducted that would be a GREAT start! IMO Monk & Grimm are LONG OVERDUE! DG is a foot in but his first year up, I'd much rather see two guys that are long overdue get inducted first. But would not be surprised if DG got in first shoot. Just think Grimm & Monk have been turned down one time to many. |
Re: HOF announcement today
Green is a lock. Grimm has a better chance than Monk. Honestly do not think Monk will get in.

Re: HOF announcement today
I think that Green should be a lock. Then again, I also thought Art Monk was a lock as well. I think that the Football writers are a fickle group. Once they have their mind made up, it seems awfully hard to change their minds. Although, Peter King said he changed his mind about Art Monk and said that he voted for him the last time. So I guess there is hope afterall.

Re: HOF announcement today
Judging by list of candidates, I think that monk has an excellent shot this year. The only player that I feel that is a so-called lock this year is Cris Carter. I think that Monk shoudl be able to get in this year along with Darrell Green. If they got in Russ Grimm that would be the ultimate. I don't know if it will happen, but that would be awesome all the same.

Re: HOF announcement today
Most of us have always felt like Monk should have been first ballot Hall of Famer, hopefully this year will not be another let down. If Green could get in with Monk that would be sweet!!

Re: HOF announcement today

Re: HOF announcement today

Five or fewer:
In advance of the Hall of Fame Selection Meeting in February, the selectors are provided detailed biographies on each of the 17 finalist candidates. At the annual meeting, each of the nominees is thoroughly discussed by the committee before a series of reduction votes are taken. First, the two senior candidates are discussed and voted on for election. They must receive the same 80 percent affirmative vote as the modern-era candidates. Next, the there is a vote that reduces the modern-era finalists list from 15 to 10. Following that, a vote is taken to reduce the list from 10 to 5 names. The five remaining candidates for Hall of Fame election are then voted on individually (yes or no) for membership. In order to be elected a finalist must receive a minimum of 80% of the vote.
|

???? HELL YES!!! He's the Skins verson of Harry Carson.Grimm is the one I can't see making it...he was good but part of a bigger picture Monk on the other hand would kill all the teams in the East ,there was no one better. |
