Give Saunders One More Year???
With all these rumors about Saunders on the way out, I thought this was a valid question. I remember when we hired Saunders, he was very adament that his offense takes three years to finally start clicking. Well, we've only given him two years, do we owe him one more? Would GW want someone else?

Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
I think they should definitely give him one more year. The offense was getting better at the end of the year and they will be healthier next year. Campbell should know the offense perfectly by now too.

Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
give atleast one more year if not more.
|
Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
I would be happy because I think those players cant understand a complex offense like his. Go AL

Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
I'm all for him coming back but my gut says he's gone.

A little grumpy are we? That complex offense didn't look too bad in that last game of the season. Oh that's right you guys were just holding back for the playoffs. Too bad they forgot the playoffs already started. |

They may have trouble understanding it,but I've never seen them cry before. |
Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
if the skins want to build on any momentum they had at the end of the year, he has to come back. and with coach Gibbs out of the way, we will really find out how good coach Saunders offense is
|
Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
The system clearly works, but it wholly depends on quarterback intelligence, the ability to make quick check-downs, and the ability to throw an accurate pass. Having a strong arm in this system will kill you if you hang onto the ball.

Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
I really hope he's here next year and beyond. Bit like Matty already said it probably won't happen.

Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
i want him back... not that i have any say.

Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
In Redskins Insider this morning, it was reported that Campbell wants the offensive staff to return intact. This leads me to believe that Saunders would be amenable to return, since Campbell has historically stayed in close contact during the offseason with his coaches. There is no reason Campbell would say such a thing if Saunders expressed either a desire to leave or a strong doubt that he would be wanted.

Your right, but our complex offense got us the same place you simple offense did, except we get a better draft pick. |

It was understood in Kansas City and St. Louis. However, I think it is a valid enough point to consider. I think it was clear that Collins has a greater hold on the offense than did Campbell, so the question becomes whether or not Cambell will be able master the system. That remains to be seen. I have faith, but little patience, so next year will be exciting. |

First off these rumors that your talking about are based on absalutly nothing. Its mums at Redskins park and even the inside reporters do not have a clue as to what is going on. As if GW would want him. Who knows. We know nothing and what ever we have heard is just someone speculating with no facts at all. |

So thanks for agreeing with me as the Foreskins can not understand anything complex. WHAT does crying have to do with anything?? I don't remember seeing tears coming out of Owens eyes because that is what crying is? and soft boy Campbell cried after that loss in Dallas. another invalid point by a newbie. |

Who else but TO and Kool Moe Dee have the best discretion when it comes to obscuring their shame. |

Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
do you have anything useful to add bluestar?
it's pretty retarded that you come to a site that has nothing to do with your team, hang around like it were a cowboy board and add absolutely nothing of value to any discussion, ever. i mean trolling's cool and all when you're like, 12 years old, but eventually you gotta grow up. |

It worked in St. Louis, it worked in KC, and we got a very good glimpse of it with Collins running it at the end of the season. Hopefully Campbell improves his timing, particularly getting rid of the ball earlier. Starting Campbell over in a new system would be a step back.

Re: Give Saunders One More Year???
Even though Williams and Saunders don't get along, it would be stupid if Saunders left. Jason Campbell will be in his 3 season next year in the system and he should blow up next year.......in a good way. Look at Peyton Manning. He wasn't the greatest after 2 seasons in his system. He's been in his system for what, 9 years now, and is very productive. Same with Tom Brady. Same with Matt Hasselback. I could go on with QB's who have been in their systems for a while and continue to be productive, but that would be pointless. Keep Saunders. Give Jason Campbell the keys next year and let him run with it. Don't hold him back.
