Someone has to bring it up....

...Profootball talk is saying that the Titans want to trade Pacman. We need a corner. Is it even palateable to entertain the idea of getting him? I say know but the guy DOES have talent.

Re: Someone has to bring it up....

He would know our schemes too, since Fisher, Williams, and Blache all have the same style.

Plus Randel El didnt do to much on punt returns.

Can you put stipulations in contracts that make a curfew for him and say no strip clubs?
Can you put stipulations in contracts that make a curfew for him and say no strip clubs?
Don't forget putting a stipulation that he shall not order hits on strip club bouncers or smack ladies. Besides, Goodell told Pacman that he could not go to strip clubs during his suspension. Apparently that didn't work. If Pacman doesn't listen to Roger "The Executioner" Goodell, what makes you think he will listen to a coach?

Not to be too disrespectful, but I cannot believe we are actually talking about trying to sign Pacman. Have people been in a cave for the past 2 years?

We could probably get him for a second, third and next year's first.

i really be surprised if he got re instated. he is a walking f*** up. no way he ever suits up in Washington. too bad, cause the brother can play

He had talent but no brain to match. That's a big definite no, I wouldn't be suprised if he never plays in this league again.

If there was no more to football than winning and losing, I would be in support of this.

However, winning loses a lot of it's meaning when you are doing it with a bunch of thugs. That's pretty much all this guy is.

I don't think so.
I hate Jones but he is a top 5 cover cornerback and an elite punt returner.
Guys with that kind of talent will always get breaks.

I personally hope he is done with football, but He isn't because he can play at a high level.

Re: Someone has to bring it up....

Tremendous talent does no good if it is in:
A) jail
B) suspended by the NFL
C) in a strip club; either "makin it rain" or punching dancers.

Stay away, far away from Pacman.

What if we kept him locked in a cage and only let him out for practice and games.

Re: Someone has to bring it up....

So that I don't get accused of a double standard because I cautioned the idea of signing Chad Johnson, let me say first that everyone deserves a second chance. To me, potential problem players have to be evaluated on:

1) impact on team chemistry, e.g. TO has no legal issues, just a history of alienating teamates
2) impact of off field problems & likelihood of recurrence

Pacman's issues to my knowledge are in (2), but I've never heard of him being a 'bad teamate' when he's w/the team. He knows that he can't screw up again (not that that's stopped him before), so if there is any intelligence & discipline left in his small mind, he'll get it together.

I think it's worth it for the front office to interview him & if they think he's changed enough, offer him an extremely incentive laden contract & offer Tenn. an incentive laden trade deal w/a conditional futue pick. Something like, if he is on the roster at the end of the year, Tenn. gets a 4th or 5th rnd. pick. If not, they get a 7th rnd. pick or cash.

Re: Someone has to bring it up....

I'd rather play with John Jansen and Casey Rabach at corner. And I am not even remotely kidding. I'd sooner see Brandon Lloyd line up behind the center and run the freaking wing t option with Heath Shuler as the Tail back.

Didn't Pacman take a swing at a teammate for not "backing him up" when he was suspended?

That talent didn't help the Titans this last year and I don't think he'll behave any better if he plays with the Redskins. He's just a waste of talent....

Everybody does deserve a second chance, but I'd much rather see Pacman get his opportunity [If he get's one] somewhere else. I would not like to see him in Burgandy & Gold.

I disagree,

his talent level (potential top CB in the whole league) makes it a question worth being brought up.

Read the Jeremy Stevens article and I think you'll see why I agree with Matty. Besides pretty soon Pacmans trade value will be on par with Michael Vicks. At this point its only a matter of time.

Even if Stevens was a choir boy, you can't really defend that he still deserves to be playing in the NFL. The fact that he's a terrible person just makes it downright insane that he has any support inside this league.

Pac Man may be a terrible person, but he's good at football. Jerramy Stevens is not.

Of course, a good counter argument would be that missing a year of football is a guarantee to severely retard ones development as a football player.

His talent level is completely wiped out by his retarded actions off the field IMO.

I really hope the NFL doesn't reinstate him. He's a complete loser.

Re: Someone has to bring it up....

Assuming the Titans are looking to deal him, I really hope we don't pick this guy up. We've had our share of head cases in the past but this guy would clearly take the cake. Your talking about moving this guy to a team located within an hour ride of The Block in Baltimore. That would be like putting Micheal Jackson in charge of a daycare center. Send him to the Raiders where he belongs.

Re: Someone has to bring it up....

I'm just wondering who would actually want to trade for him.

He's good, but he's not a Champ Bailey type of CB.

I just don't see anyone out there falling over themselves to trade anything worthwhile for him.

I agree I don't think anybody would want to take that big of a risk because he doesn't show any signs of change. I don't care if he get's reinstated just as long as he doesn't play for a team I like. I don't mind him getting another chance with the Titans and if he changes then great if he doesn't then he'll be out of the NFL for good i hope so I really don't care if he get's reinstated
Didn't Pacman take a swing at a teammate for not "backing him up" when he was suspended?
hadn't heard that, but if that's the case that's pretty serious. If he's not a good teamate then he really is worthless. I believe players that are bad teamates are generally more of a risk than those that have had off field problems. Granted, the seriousness of the off field stuff has to be taken into account & pacman has more than pushed the envelope there, but often players that are "bad teamates" seem to take longer to change & do more damage to the team in the process.
