Super Spoiled....if you can
Wow it must suck to be a Patriot right now huh? To forever be seen as a trivia question, to choke when it mattered the most. For me the lost was a bitter sweet one. I hoped to see a record broken if not tied but i had no real alliance to anyone but i would've love to see Moss get it. If you had to say one thing to the patriots right now what would you say?
Me: 52-7..october 28....thats called karma belicheat |

Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
What would I say to a Pats fan? Skinsguy said, "Bhaaa haaa haaa haaa haaa!!!!"
|
Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
They will be forever remembered as the almost perfect season and best team ever. The sad thing is that it reminds me of our '83 team that lost to the Raiders.

Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
Well, the secret is out on how to beat the Patriots. Get in Brady's face.
Look for every other team in the AFC East to put a new emphasis on their pass rush. |
Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
I've been waiting for the Patriots to lose since Brady's BS sneak on 4th and 1 against the Skins when they were up by a ton. It's extra sweet that ot cost them 19-0 and the Super Bowl.

Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
From now on if someone is untouchable until a championship loss, it ill be said: "They pulled a Patriot"

Look for every other team in the AFC East to put a new emphasis on their pass rush.
this is not a secret, its a universal truth. you beat teams by applying pressure in the back field, be it against the run or the qb. Its analogous to saying, "the secret to beating the other team is to have more points when time expires." |
Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
What I love is that Brady bristled at Plaxico's prediction that the Pats would only score 17 points. Well, Plaxico was wrong....the Pats only scored 14 points.

Look for every other team in the AFC East to put a new emphasis on their pass rush.
That was a secret? Seriously though, the Giants smothered the pass impressively from a secondary standpoint also. This wasn't the first time that someone did this to the Pats this year, but it is the first time someone was able to avoid the inevitable for 60 minutes. By shortening the game and running the clock, the Giants were able to keep the score low. Because of that, scoring 14 points in the 4th quarter made all the difference. If the game was 35-32, 14 points in the fourth quarter likely doesn't make a difference, even if the defense had played relatively well. For the Pats, this only shows how much of a struggle it will be to get to 19-0. No team, no matter how dominant, will go for an indefinite amount of games undefeated. Not the '72 Dolphins and not this Pats team. The Dolphins almost met their match in their 17th game, and the Pats outlasted that. Unfortunately for them, this wasn't double jeporady, it was 19-times jeporady, and in that case, 18 wins and 1 loss earns you second place. |

How's it feel to get bent over by a manning two years in a row?

Every time I watched them this year and they weren't dominant it was because Brady was getting pressured. Hell they almost lost to an awful Baltimore team because Balt was in his grill for most of the night. They only won because Ryan called off the dogs late in the 4th for some unknown reason and Brady had time to pick them apart. |
Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
This is kinda crazy how it's exactly six years to the day after the high powered Rams were considered a lock to cruise to a Super Bowl trophy before the upstart Patriots got physical with him, and punched them in the mouth to claim the Lombardi.
What goes around comes back around I suppose. |

Heres some advice to Tom...Didn't he learn from Tony Romo...Don't bring your girlfriend to the game and sit her in the BOOTH!

Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
that game was all about D lines.
both offensive lines looked pretty bad, especially the patriot guard play. still not sure why eli got MVP over tuck though. he played a huge part in why that game was won. |
Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
I think everyone knew the "secret" to beating New England. It's the same "secret" to beating any team. Get in the QBs face and knock him down early and often. It's one of those things however that is easier said than done.

I thought G-men o-line played okay actually. Pats o-line got manhandled all night. |

What bothered me most was their denial of running up the score despite passing the ball with a 45-0 lead and going for it on 4th down. Karma is a bitch, but I hope that WE have a chance to run it up on the Pats somewhere down the road, and bury them with no mercy. |

same here, though this game was close & that one wasn't, the feeling is the same. The Skins were "supposed" to win that one & they'd even beaten the raiders 37-35 in the reg. season, eerily similar to the 38-35 game these teams played this year. |

I get the point already. Yes, there was no 'secret' to it, but it does seem lost on many front offices around the league as to how vital a menacing front four is to the success of a football team. Or maybe it's incredibly difficult to find 4 guys who can do it the way the Giants did it all year. I remember some people found it mystifying when the Giants took Mathias Kiwanuka when they already had Strahan and Umenyora. I thought it was brilliant. And to the best of my knowledge, this guy Tuck basically came out of nowhere. To be able to have four fresh DE's who can wreak havoc on the best offensive line in the league can very often be the difference maker. Look for the buzz words around draft time to be "QB pressure". I'll bet there's a huge rush on defensive ends come April. |

Teams always covet pass rushers, it's just not an easy position to stock up on. What the Giants have going is pretty rare. I don't think I've seen a d-line able to apply that kind of pressure on their own in a very long time. |
Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
They are going to be known as the SECOND best team in the history of the NFL.
Hands down, the patriots head to head would win verses any other Super Bowl loser in history. The '06 Bears, '05 Seahawks, even the '90 - '94 Bills, have nothing on these guys! Lets salute the second best team to ever play the game........ ........hahahaaa. |

They picked Umenyiora in the 2nd round in '03; Tuck in the 3rd round in '05; and Kiwanuka in the 1st in '06. Clearly, they made a big effort to improve their pass rush, and they hit on each one -- That's hard to do. I like that mentality though, but that's what you're able to do when you have lots of draft picks year after year. Props to Acorsi on those picks. |

i just wanna thank the patriots for allowing us to hear Mercury Morris brag for another year...thanks alot

Re: Super Spoiled....if you can
Overall the Patriots should be happy that they lost. It is so much easier to say "well we were good for most of the season, but we lost it at the championship" and leave it at that. heres how it would have gone if they had won: "We were the first team to go undefea.... well, we technically cheated in one game, but it was against the Jets, anyway, we got a better record than the '72 Dolph... what's that you say? Yeah we ran the score up alot to show how cocky we were but thats okay when your the best."
IN THE LONG RUN, PRICKS NEVER WIN AND KHARMA ALWAYS COMES BACK. Brady should just be glad that he doesnt have a remaining career left of explaining how and why they went undefeated. Be thankful that the Giants wanted it more. |
