Wow...I didn't think he'd get another NFL job.

Lloyd and Arch reunited........the bears must be desperate. Now they can ride the pine together again, just like old times.

Arch can play, he's a strong safety not a free safety doesn't have the speed, i know they must of got BL for less than the league minimum (he probably had to pay them) and i like BL.

A great signing by the Bears LOL!

Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal

Wow. It actually happened. I had heard that Ron Turner really wanted Brandon Lloyd on the Bears but I thought it was just Lloyd's agent running his mouth. Guess not. Guess Ron is no brighter than his brother Norv.

Oh well, good for him.

The Bears lost two receivers to free agency, now they must truly be "desperate" Good Luck!!

Ramsey and LaVar are on a flight out to Chicago as we speak

Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal

They were touting Devin Hester as their #1 WR so they had to make some kind of move. I don't see how this is an improvement at all for them though.

What if Lloyd went there and posted a 75 catch 1000 yard 8 TD season

If he did, I would seriously challenge our coaching staff.

WTF? Lolyd get's another shot at being an NFL WR! Another great move by the Bears right up there with the Archuleta singing last year.

At least the Bears only gave him one year, and a minimum deal to prove it. We gave him a huge bonus to prove he "sucks"

Love to see da bears take all of our castoffs. The best move we've made all year is letting BL go.

i don't want him but i wish him the best. hope he does well in the future except vs. us and our playoff hopes

they just signed him to produce a remix of the "Super Bowl Shuffle"

What?!??! You mean the same Adam Archuleta who got benched here picked up by the Bears and then benched there? Really?

Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal

DGreene28 and budw38, that's funny!!!

Can you imagine that? G-Reg Olson and B-boy Lloyd rapping on the super bowl shuffle. It'll never happen, losing your receivers and not having a QB is not a recipe for a Superbowl contender.

He's already starting to stir the pot there now LOL who would have thought.

Re: Bears Sign Brandon Lloyd to One-Year Deal

At least he said the right thing here and didn't try to blast the Skins
“The best thing I can do for myself is just come in and work,” Lloyd said. “That’s not anything I haven’t done. I’m not going to sit here and say that it’s all my fault, and I’m not going to say that it’s all somebody else’s fault. The circumstances just weren’t right, and I’m just going to continue to try to find my fit, find my path in this league, because I feel I have the talent to play.”
The only stat he had was breaking his collarbone with the Redskins.

i rather players play well to the end of their contracts and talk mad crap (pierce) than cost a f-ton of money and play like crap.

of course he didn't badmouth the skins; they gave him over 10million he didn't deserve.

Can someone explain what the hell the Bears are doing this off-season? Are they trying to lose? The Bears could possibly have one of the worst offenses in NFL history next year. Fantasy graveyard!

They resigned Grossman though, so they are building around their centerpiece ;)

Are you allowed to designate as June 1 and play for another team before then? must be a courtesy to the player, and a loop hole for the team. Anyone know the rule?

It was changed on the last CBA to give players a better opportunity to catch on with another team. For accounting purposes he stays on the Redskins books until June 1 (and thus the cap hit this year is lessened - and we actually get relief, but get cap hit in 2009) but he is free to sign anywhere else.

I just got a call... the Bears are flying me in for a workout Monday! I was a stud in high-school, caught 4 passes for 19 yards. BL and I could be a fantastic duo!

Ron coached him in college when he played at Illinois. I guess he thinks he can recreate his college days.

don't know how fast he is now, but ARch ran a 4.4 at the combine. I know that was 6 yrs. ago or so. He's had a back injury that seemed to affect his ability to cut & turn on the run. He definitely can't cover & he even looked timid v. the run while here. Seems over the hill under 30.

You like BL?

I guess the Bears didn't learn from our mistakes completely, they had to learn from us somewhat because they didn't give him a 10 mil signing bonus. Either way though wth are they thinking? Grossman to Lloyd? Really?
