Personally, I think prostitution should be regulated but not outlawed. But, I find it funny that he would rail against a high-priced prostitution ring and then "visit" a high-priced prostitution ring. Ok, we talked about bias in the News and I had to read to very bottom of the article before they ever said which party he was with and then did not really say he was a Dem Gov.. If he was a Rep. it wold have started off something like this.

Republican Gov. Spitzer was thought to have solicited a prositut from NY City. As a powerful Republican from NY city he was climbing the ladder as a Republican Gov. We asked him several questions but Republican Gov. Splitzer refused to answer any questions. It uncertain what Republican leaders will do (if anything)and if the Republican leaders will ask him to step down.

Apparently you have never heard of the promiscousness of Cleopatra. And I am sure that there are other women, but the problem lies in that not to often are women in power to have the oppertunity to get cought in sex scandles...

Cheating is not limited to people in positions of power. Unfortunately men AND women cheat on their boyfriends or husbands quite often.

Just stay home sick and watch these day time talk shows. The only reason it seems so common with leaders is becasue it goes public and is all over the news. If these thing were tracked it is not really that common.

New York is overflowing with schadenfreude tonight. This guy took down a lot of people when he was a prosecutor and did it in a very self-righteous, unforgiving way. He's done.

The details are interesting. $4300 for less than three hours. Inflation, I guess. Oh the jokes are endless. "He's been ****ing the taxpayers all these years for free", etc. etc.

When you consider how many "men of power" there are including politicians, business leaders, community leaders this isn't "very common" There are plenty of men who do the right thing, but there's nothing exciting about reporting that. Look at it this way, the day we start seeing reports of men in power behaving like upstanding citizens and family men is the day we should worry, because that will be the day it's no longer the norm.

I think a better question to ask, is who was the last (most recent) woman who got caught having an affair that ruined her image of an upstanding, righteous person? I'm pretty young so my knowledge is pretty limited.

I don't see whats wrong with his posts.

His first post pointed out that its not just men of power, its all men that run the risk of chasing ass.

And the second post pretty much just says that many people will do whatever they want, so long as they know that they can get away with it.

I don't see whats wrong with hess' posts either. I don't think people were pointing their finger at her, just so much as saying that 1) Its not always a power thing and 2) There are good guys out there.

It doesn't matter if you're powerful or not, I'm sure there are millionaires that cheat and that there are guys living in the local ghetto/trailer park that do. Just like there are millionaires and people in ghettos/trailer parks that won't. It's all dependent on the quality of the person.

Because when it comes down to it, I feel that 2 most popular reasons that people cheat is 1) to escape a current relationship or 2) Because they know/think they can get away with it

I think male bashing is a bit far-fetched. It seems to me like people had the biggest problem with her saying "men with power".

Around here, some woman (in a government position) not too long ago got caught RUNNING a prostitution ring. But no one outside of the DMV knows about it.

Ok... and she used the words "are often corrupted", not "always". However, when you read the responses, you would have thought she said the latter. To say that it's just as likely for a woman with power to screw around as a man with power would, is disingenuous. Men are driven by sex far more than women. For every one woman of influence that has been caught in an indescretion, I could produce the names of fifty men.

Not that this conversation really matters to me one way or the other. My experience on this board is that we cannot have any meaningful discussions about male/female relationships, so I usually avoid them when they come up.

However, I've grown tired of the hypocrisy around here. Whenever a female member makes any type of negative comment about men in general on this board, in comes the swarm. How many threads or comments have you seen on this board that degrade, objectify or complain about women? On the other hand, how many threads or comments do we have, expressed by women, that do the same? Little to none. I also find it hypocritical on the part of some of our male members to cry male bashing when women are repeatedly referred to as ho's, bitches, sluts and chicken heads (my fav), when being described on this board, even when it's not warranted. I guess those are considered modern terms of endearment now.

With that said, it matters not to me whether the men here are truly cognizant of their offensive behavior. Generally, I stay out of conversations that offend me and I typically do not call out other members. But I've honestly had enough. What's good for the goose is definately not good for gander around here.
