The Official Man-Crush Squad

Sultan McCullough is going to be a Pro Bowler! Garnell Wilds covered Randy Moss. Therefore, Garnell Wilds can replace Champ Bailey! Chris Wilson got 2 sacks against Seattle. 2 sacks times 16 games = 32 sacks in 2008. We each have had a man-crush at one time or another. Help me fill out the official man-crush squad.

QB - Tim Hasselbeck/Gibran Hamdan
RB - Sultan McCullough/Jesse Lumsden/Trung Canidate
FB ?
WR - Mike Espy/Derrius Thompson
WR - Anthony Mix/Darnerian McCants
TE - Robert Royal
OT - Stephon Heyer
OG ?
C ?
OG - Todd Wade
OT - Lorenzo Alexander

DE - Chris Wilson
DT - Kedric Golston
DT - Brandon Noble
DE ?
OLB ?
MLB - Robert McCune
OLB ?
CB - Garnell Wilds
CB ?
FS ?
SS - Ryan Clark/Reed Doughty/Ifeyani Ohalete

I realize that we've had similar threads in the past, but it's time for a new one.

I thought Jesse Lumsden had a shot...and how about that Eubanks guy for CB...even Portis likes him

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

Woman-crush on Lorenzo Alexander.

He's versatile enough to play every position. EVEN QB. Bank on it.

LOL. I've been hoping for a thread like this for a long time! But Chris Wilson is the real deal, hater!

I liked Ryan Clark and I like Chris Wilson and Kedric Golston, but sometimes the hype gets a little out of control. I hate to be a playa hayta, but I gotz 2 keep it real.

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

How about Jessie Armstead at OLB, and Michael Barrow at MLB.

RB- Rock Cartwright

props to Rave on the L Alexander comment. I agree!

Hmmm. I'm not sure if Barrow got enough hype to qualify. Armstead definitely got a lot of hype, but he was a decent LB for a year or so.

GTripp0012 03-17-2008 09:39 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

Even though he was incredibly talented, I don't think Lavar can be left off this list.

Don't forget about Ade Jimoh at corner.

SGG, How could you leave the TE out of the rotation......

I don't think the Capt. would be very happy.

How about Gibran Hamdan at QB, at FB Manuel White, CB Rashad Bauman, WR Cliff Russell, LB Greg Jones, T Andre Johnson, C Cory Raymer, almost forgot Heath Shuler, ummm, Desmond Howard and last but not least at DT Bobby Wilson.

How far back do we want to go with this?

Todd Wade at OG
How far back do we want to go with this?
I would say going back to the 2000 season would be fair. I would also add that, IMO, in order to qualify, the player must have been relatively (i) unheralded (e.g., a late round pick or a undrafted free agent), unproductive, and overhyped.

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 03-17-2008 09:51 PM
Todd Wade at OG
Ohhh, good one. I can't believe he slipped my mind.

EternalEnigma21 03-17-2008 09:52 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

okay we're deep in the squad at RB here, but my fav. was Ki Jana Carter.

And whatever happened to "Nemo"?

Oh, and the famous wideout Darnerian McCants, who I liked better than most peoples fav. wideout of all time, the greatest wideout to ever practice the game: Taylor Jacobs.

EternalEnigma21 03-17-2008 09:56 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

trotter would qualify under the over-hyped under-productive role, I believe....

SeanTaylor21 03-17-2008 10:06 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

Renaldo Wynn, and Bruce Smith, also just wondering, why has noone mentioned Brandon Lloyd.

I had a thing for Lloyd Harrison. I thought he was going to be the next superstar Cornerback.

I can't forget about cliff russell...

How did we miss this one?

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

Unless I missed it....

I'm pretty sure we're all guilty of having a crush on Patrick Ramsey...my man crush on him was bad...

SeanTaylor21 03-17-2008 10:22 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

I still miss Adam Archuleta's great cover skills, rofl.

JoeRedskin 03-17-2008 10:24 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

Sorry, the QB spot is Patrick's. It's the only time in his career where he was undoubtedly more qualified then any other player. Hell, offiss man-crush alone gets PR the number 1 spot.

DynamiteRave 03-17-2008 10:27 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

How can't you put Trung Candidate at RB?!

Redskin Warrior 03-17-2008 10:28 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

Rod Gardner and Taylor Jacobs for sure should be the starting WR's

WestCoastSkinsFan 03-17-2008 10:29 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

Put me down for Anthony Trucks at OLB.

Skinny Tee 03-17-2008 10:30 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

Steve Spurrier would probably assume the coaching spot on that team.

The Fun and Gun...was that a reference to the opposing team's DEs having a free shot at our quarterback every down?

DynamiteRave 03-17-2008 10:32 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

SGG,

You forgot K and P positions. I'm sure we've had some shankers.

Redskin Warrior 03-17-2008 10:32 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

What about Deion Sanders for CB he had all the hype.

Redskin Warrior 03-17-2008 10:32 PM

Nick Novak

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

TJ Duckett too.

Darryl Gardner at DT

God there's so many! lol

SmootSmack 03-17-2008 11:02 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

I think it was Joe Crisp and I touting Jacquez Green a few summers back "OMG, it's like watching Gary Clark!" sigh...

Jacquez, Kevin Lockett, Kevin Dyson, David Patten, Chris Doering, Derrius Thompson...we could have a thread dedicated just to WRs

GTripp0012 03-17-2008 11:44 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

This isn't all free agent bust team, this is the man-crush team, meaning the hype we gave the players on this team had to be totally otherwise unwarrented.

Anthony Mix is a much, much better player than Brandon Lloyd. However, Lloyd doesn't go on this team because no one had a man-crush on Brandon Lloyd. At least 20 people here have a man-crush on Mix.

GTripp0012 03-17-2008 11:45 PM

Re: The Official Man-Crush Squad

TJ Duckett qualifies, I think.

Ade Jimoh has himself an all-world man-crush spot of he wants it.

He wasn't willing to take a pay cut, so we let him go and brought in TMC and Gmanc at half the cost

Seriously though, no idea.
