One year deal. Link should be up really soon

Here we go
ESPN - Roundup: Receiver Caldwell leaves Redskins to join Rams - NFL |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Yes I am happy about that!
|
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Why are you happy about it?
|
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Does this mean we hit WR in either of the first two rounds?
|
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Can't say I really care too much, but it definitely highlights the need to acquire one (or two) in the draft.
Reche was never going to make big plays for us, but at least he was a warm body capable of moving the chains once in a while. Right now we only have two guys capable of making plays (Moss & ARE) and MAYBE one warm body who can move the chains (Thrash). Aside from that, it's a Plaxico Burress pipe dream (Mix) and a bunch of bums. |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Good luck Reche. They released Isaac Bruce and Caldwell knows Saunders stuff, so he'll probably be a decent contributor out there. Always had a soft spot for him since he's a Gator. Maybe a 6-6 James Hardy in the second round?
|
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Now we have 3 short, 3 tall, and 1 in between. I love balance.

He will by no means be there when we pick in the 2nd. |

BTW, besides MIX, who are the "tall" receivers? Usually by tall, one would mean over 6'2". |

We have exacty 3 tall, or 6'2"+ Washington Redskins Look for yourself. Burl Toler |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
I'm not happy he left, but I am happy w/the report; it said we offered him a vet min. contract.
Give it up for all at the warpath that have beaten the vet min drum for years!!! While it would've been nice to keep reche, I like the fact that now we are definitely going to draft a wr early, my guess is 2nd round. I would also expect them to draft one late if there's not much else to choose from at that point. |

His big knock is lack of separation, meaning he can not get open regularly enough. And, I haven't even heard of this BUrt Toler character. What up with him? |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
I liked what I saw from Caldwell, but I will withhold judgement on all these decisions until later in the year.
|
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Well, that could change our draft strategy. If we don't go WR in the first round, most likely we'll do it in the second.
|

I know about as much as you do from his Bio. He might be a teams guy, IDK. |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Ah, crap. We better look hard at the draft then.
|
Re: Rams Sign Reche
I guess I'm still a little gun shy. After reading this news I can't help but feel a trade is in the works. I won't be surprised to hear something about a deal involving CJ sometime before the draft.
However, perhaps the FO is basically giving Zorn a startup year to build his team/coaching philosophy. |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
I'm getting the feeling that we could trade for someone on draft day.
|
Re: Rams Sign Reche
All this means is that we have to go after a receiver for real now, and it will not be only for necessity but also for depth.
|
I'm getting the feeling that we could trade for someone on draft day.
I am getting the sense that we had better not. I would like us to use our picks for a change. We drafted pretty well the past couple of years. Imagine what we could do with all of our picks. Seriously though, I would rather trade for an outstanding WR than draft one in the first round. But that is the only position that I feel that way about. |

Hardy is a problem child, so I expect the front office to stay away from him. Plus if the front office sticks to their guns and stay true to their belief that there are no recievers worthy of a 1st round grade then chances are that right now our 1st round pick will be Albert, Phillips, Talib, Balmber, or Merling. |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
That sucks that he is gone. I was hoping that we'd have him and then pick up his brother in the draft for the Caldwell combination.
Reche was solid receiver who could always pick up that clutch first down catch. Also, there was nothing on the field that he couldn't see, if you know what I mean...he's on another team now so all's fair. |

What would make u say that Hardy is a problem child? I looked it up. He has one incident in his collegiate career in which he apologized, paid he dues, received counseling, and has been a model citizen since. Scoutssay that he had off field issues all the time, but one should look into such things before one regurgitates rhetoric and then labels another person. |

I don't remember them saying there was no WR worthy of a first round pick |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Why not bring 50/50 back? wheres he anyways..
|

I guess I have 2 auto'd Sage Hit cards and an auto'd mini helmet I might have to put on Ebay now.

I think Cerratto had been quoted a while back that they didn't have any WR's graded as "first round" talent. |

I'd have to look for a link but I thought what he said was no WRs rated among the top 20. Of course we pick 21st :) I have no idea what they're going to do. I think it will all depend on how big they feel the drop off would be at WR from pick #21 to their 2nd round pick versus other positions. I'd still like to see a trade down preferably. |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
I'm not surprised he signed with Rams. Saunders knows him and Caldwell is familiar with the system. Feel sure that Caldwell knows the Redskins are looking for a young and tall WCO style receiver.
With my burgundy and gold colored glasses...have complete confidence in Zorn and Co. |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
We were all dreaming Reche would do something good for us, but we always think everyone will do well for us.
I wish him luck. This just means we can draft Marcus Monk!!!!!! WOO HOO. :D |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Why are you happy about it?
Because I know we will get a WR in the first 2 rounds now |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
Billy McMullen
I had no idea we had Billy McMullen. He tore it up at UVA w/ Schaub. I thought he'd be a good NFL WR. Shows how much i know. In college he was tall, fast, and had excellent hands. I guess if i didn't know we had him, his ability to play in the NFL is low at best. |
Re: Rams Sign Reche
I was hoping for Reche to return to the Redskins. He's nothing spectacular but he's a solid vet as we all saw last year.
|
Re: Rams Sign Reche
I guess this is a good development for the Mix crew. Guy gets to duke it out with James Thrash and a Rookie for third on the depth chart.

We'd better get some depth there cause you know Santana's going to pull a hammy for a game, two or three. But I agree, I'd rather keep the draft picks. |

I wouldn't mind trading a second or third rounder for Roy Williams. |

I agree, I was looking forward to Reche coming back and providing this team much needed WR depth. Both Reche and McCardell both played solid when they where on the field for us. I think we are getting very thin in the WR position with quality depth. So this leaves us with #1 Moss, #2 El, #3 Thrash? Yea I know Mix......and the draft. This is a little concerning to me. With all the injury problems we have confronted in recent years. I think we now have to make a depth move or a possible trade to compete for the #3 WR spot or even better. |
