Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
But that still leaves Larry, ole boy.......
From JLC blog. Also wanted to throw some luv at my man Bram Weinstein, who is moving up in the world. Bram is leaving Redskins Radio to do anchoring work at ESPN. He's a great guy with a tremendous work ethic, and it's awesome to see that rewarded. Hope he knocks 'em dead in Bristol. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
yeah I always kinda liked bram... but they really need to get a stronger personality in there with larry to tone his ass down a little. I really don't like his arrogant tone.

I agree. This also is a big move upward for Bram. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
Bring in Jon Miller to do the play by play
|
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I liked Bram as well. Did he make an official announcement on Redskins Radio yet?
|
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
are you kidding me?!!! he was a whiney b!tch. all he ever did was complain and bitch and moan. I dont wish him any bad luck, but Im not gonna miss him and his negative whiney slant on all things Redskins.

Redskins Radio is meant to be pure entertainment. It is played to balance Larry's "ego" with Bram being a "pushover". It is all show. have you actually heard any of Bram's actual reporting OUTSIDE of Redskins Radio? I think not, because if you did then you would clearly know he is great at what he does. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
Oh man, I like Bram. Well I hope he does well in Bristol. He will be missed here in DC.

yeah he is and I don't think the rest of the country will like him. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I really like Bram. I enjoy is real commentary instead of Larry's suckupness all the time. "buy the NEW Redskins jacket I'm wearing" kinda crap with Larry...
I say bring in Frank Herzog and make him Larry's boss! |

That was the rumor a couple of years back, but I'd be a bit surprised now. I think they'll probably take someone from Comcast |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
Haha I'd love to see Herzog as Larry's boss. I don't like Larry, but I do like Bram. Without Bram to balance out Larry that show will go downhill, which is why I hope they find a quality guy to replace him. Did anyone hear about Bram's Aprils' Fools prank on Larry about bringing Chad to the Redskins? That was great lolol. Good luck to him though and I hope he does a great job.

That was funny I was listening April 1 when Bram pulled that on Larry. I just couldn't believe Larry actually took that bait, I was waiting for the I KNOW ITS ARPIL FOOLS DAY, DON'T EVEN TRY IT...? But it never came, he must of had a major hangover.....nah it was just Larry. |

He just did today. He said next Friday would be his last day on Redskin Radio. No replacement announced, yet. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I've had only a few conversations with Bram over the years... and he's been nothing but a stand up guy. Very humble, down to earth kind of person.
Really going to miss having him on Redskins radio... he was definitely the only ounce of hope that show had. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I'm anxious to meet him up here. I'll have to find out his schedule and stalk him :)

...another mistake made by the front office.Frank was the voice of reason. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I think Herzog was starting to lose it a bit toward the end (a lot was because he just didn't care as much). That said half of Herzog is still better than all of Michael.
But he's really enjoying life now. I'm happy for him. |

That April Fools joke Bram played on Larry was the perfect opportunity for him to get Larry to admit he actually wouldn't mind seeing CJ come to town. Larry had maintained on more than one ocasion, how he would be opposed to CJ coming here, maybe Bram's AFP enabled Larry to reveal his true feelings. I wish Bram good luck in Bristol. |

Tim Kurkjian is probably the coolest of the sports semi-celebs that frequents the restaurant. I've served on him a couple times and he's been great. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
That's cool. I see Kurkijan a lot here, but I've never spoken to him.
I had to earn Herzog's trust initially, but once I did he's been great. He's a fantastic photographer. I've got some really good pictures that he's given me. He's got some great stories too about the Redskins. |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I just learned about my man Bram leaving today on the replay (they took off redskins radio here in Richmond) and Im sad to hear hes leaving. He always seemed like a stand up guy and the few emails we've passed back and forth he definitely seemed like a good guy. We'll definitely miss you Bram but you can't fault a guy for bigger and better things. Good luck in Bristol.

He's doing some fill-in news anchoring for WTOP radio, some acting (he had a small part in some movie recently, Step Up maybe?), playing golf and taking photos. And spending time with his wife |

Cool, thanks for the update... |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I'll miss Bram. I listened to him on Redskins lunch cause I really can't stand Larry. He's wayyy too much of a Redskins can do no wrong type guy and not in a supportive way, but almost in an obnoxious way. I remember when they were breaking down the schedule for last year, he had us going like 15-1.

Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
Can you keep Bram and trade Larry? That guy is a clown! What a Kool-Aid Drinker....

Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I remember Bram getting his start doing the sport score updates for SportsTalk 980. It's nice to see a guy pull himself up by the bootstraps to make the bigtime. I hope he stays true to himself and doesn't try to inherit the snarky, too cool for you personality of many ESPN hosts. I wish him the best of luck.

Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I didn't catch the start of Redskin radio today (Bram's first day off the show), but every sense I've been tuned in Joey T. has been on?
Wonder who is going to fill in for Bram long term or did someone catch the start of the show today, and catch an announcement? |
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
They will probably pull someone from the Riggo show is my guess, but I wouldn't mind Theismann being on there. Although I think that he would be better suited for the play by play once Sonny and or Sam decides to hang it up.
|
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I already miss the banter between Bram and Larry. I liked how Bram would keep Larry in check and not be afraid to criticize the team every now and again.
|
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I hope Bram still finds occasion to do his Baltimore accent. It was not a great accent but it sort of grew on you. Orwell said that Rudyard Kipling was "good bad art" and I think Bram's voices are in that same category. Am I the only one that thought his Jessica Simpson sounded more like Micheal Jackson?
|
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
Just heard Bram's voice on ESPNEWS, I didn't see his face yet, as they were doing their multiple highlights in a row and went to commercial.
|
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
So when is the Danny going to buy ESPN?
|
Re: Bram leaving Redskin Radio heading for Bristol.
I tell you this is going to sound crazy but I really miss Bram's voice on the radio. I used to live it when he'd say I'm Bram Weinsteiiiiiiiiiin ! Saw him on ESPN News, he's going to be the shyt. They let him do the O's game and he used a slight Baltimore accent that was so cool and funny to me. Can't wait for him to do the Skins highlights.
