Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Don't know more specifics yet
|
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
They can have em.
|
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Why didn't the Redskins pursue Pacman? To give up only a 4th rounder is very low risk, high reward. And we need defensive backs.
|
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
I believe the Cowboys are also giving a conditional 2009 pick
|
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
We don't want your Pac Man.
I guess the theme in Dallas this year will be "Pac Man 2: The New Adventures" |
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
What are the odds he'll be reinstated this year? And for how long? They can have him. He'd have to send Danny a weekly check before I'd want him anywhere near my team.

My feeling is that since there is evidence that PacMan made a payment of $15,000 to the man arrested for the strip club shooting (he says it was an extortion payment), that Goodell has all the suspicion he needs to keep PacMan on ice indefinitely. Apparently, one condition of the trade is that if Jones doesn't get reinstated this year, the Titans owe the Cowboys a pick next year. So really, this could be a 2008 4th rounder for a 2009 4th rounder. |
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Apparently no one has details yet:

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Also, instead of paying the Titans back $1.7 million, Pac Man will "only" have to pay $500thousand over the next two years, which will go to a charity of choice by the Titans.
I have to believe if the Cowboys went out on a limb to aquire this guy, they are operating on more than a gut feeling that Goodell will reinstate him. |
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Great for the Boys, T.O. and Pac. I can't wait, the strip clubs are gonna get a lot of business.

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
I'm glad they got him. I think they're gonna wind up right where they belong. You guys think Jason Garrett is a strong enough coach to control these guys?
|
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
You know, part of me actually hopes he gets reinstated and then finds himself in trouble with the law again so he'll get suspended and the Cowboys will have wasted a pick. But to be honest, if Pacman can stay out of trouble this is a really good deal for the Cowboys, it will shore up their cornerbacks/returner positions and for only a 4th rounder. One thing to keep an eye on though is if all that time away from the field is gonna hurt Pacman.

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
My question is, why trade for a guy who is going to be released upon reinstatement anyway?? Everything I've read says the Titans are going to sever ties with him regardless. Why wouldn't Dallas just wait and sign him as a FA? Pac Man already came out and said Dallas is his first choice, and no one else wants him. So good for you Cowgirls. Piss away draft picks. I'm hoping this is the first in a long line of new gaffes by Jerry Jones now that Parcells is gone. Lord knows he wasn't doing a good job personnel wise before The Tuna got there.

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Get ready for a huge influx of methhead single moms with big jugs in Texas. Oh wait, there already are alot here.... oh well, I guess that means I can stop supporting them with my income taxes. Come on Pac Man, help the "great" state of Texas with its unemployment problem. You will be our savior!!!

Cowboys = Dumb asses.

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Now taking bets:
How many games does he make it through before he gets suspended again? Does he even make it through pre-season? |

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
For a guy having a problem with strip club incidents, Dallas is not exactly the best place to be.
I'm glad he's not here. I'm sure this will blow up in Dallas' face shortly. This guy is a bona fide knucklehead. I know we will, but I really don't want to hear, comparisons to the Randy Moss pick-up by the Pats because they will be totally invalid. |
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
For Pacman, and the Cowboys, I hope for the worst.
|
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
I'd be surprised if he makes it a year without getting involved in some foolishness.
|
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
I don't know what you guys are on about, it's a risky signing by the Cowboys but it's not like Pac-Man can't play. TO has his issues but he has worked out for the most part for them and if Pac-Man nd gets his head out of his ass and sees the field the Cowboys will have two legit CBs.
|
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
A 4th rounder for the douchebag of all douchebags. Nice.

Mighty big "If".....for a guy who has a meeting with the NFL Commissioner concerning re-instatement because he has had multiple incidents in strip clubs and the night before the meeting....he's in a strip club. My personal feeling is that this guy has no remorse for a person being paralyzed for life because of his (or his "posse's") actions, either way he is very much responsible. I hope he never sees the field or another dime from playing in the NFL again. |
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Yeah but if he doesn't get reinstated by the Commish then it essentially turns into a no deal since the Cowboys get their fourth rounder back. I kinda get the feeling the Commish is rooting for Pacman in the sense that he wants to get him back on the field but also wants to make sure he's not getting into any more trouble.

TO and Pac Man isn't really a fair comparison. TO is a me-first jerk for sure, but he hasn't had any legal issues. Pac-Man on the other hand is a showboat on the field and a complete and utter douchebag off it. He's been arrested multiple times and questioned and/or associated with several other crimes. He lied to the commissioner's face about going to a strip club in NYC the NIGHT BEFORE they were supposed to meet to discuss his status. All this AFTER "making it rain" in Vegas and ultimately getting a guy shot and paralyzed. And that was just the icing on his legal laundry list cake. I'm not a vindictive person, and I certainly don't want Pac-Man to ruin his life any further, but I simply don't believe a word out of his mouth. He'll slip up, and sooner rather than later methinks. He's too stupid not too. |
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
I'm not defending the guy, I'm just saying I hope he doesn't get reinstated or is dumb enough to f'up again cause IF he doesn't he's going to make the Cowboys' backfield formidable.

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
I'm waiting for the CJ bashers to say that Johnson is worst than Pac Man. LOL. Seriously though, this is going to be interesting. I do wonder if PacMan can get back in football shape after being out for a year.

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
Maybe they shouldn't start manufacturing those Pacman Cowboys jerseys just yet:
ProFootballTalk.com - Rumor Mill MINXX SHOOTER THOUGHT PACMAN ORDERED A HIT A reader has forwarded to us a copy of the “declaration of warrant/summons” issued on April 18 in connection with the arrest of Arvin Kenti Edwards, the man accused of opening fire outside of a Las Vegas strip club in February 2007. The document helps to clarify recent reports regarding the nature of the $15,000 payment that Edwards thereafter pursued from Titans cornerback Pacman Jones. It seemed to be hush money, but it was characterized by Jones as money that was paid only because Edwards threatened to come after Jones and/or his family. As it turns out, Edwards initially wanted the money because he believed that Jones had ordered a hit. Jones made the disclosure to Las Vegas police in September 2007, roughly seven months after the shooting. He told authorities that, as he was leaving the Minxx club after the infamous “make it rain” altercation, a man approached Jones and told him that he would take care of the problem. Jones says he wasn’t sure what the man was talking about, and that Jones replied by saying, “whatever.” Moments later, Jones heard the popping of a gun and observed the same man shooting Tommy Urbanski and two others. So, basically, the guy shot Urbanski and the other two people because he thought Jones had asked him to do it. And, surely, Edwards’ version of the events will be different than Pacman’s “whatever” remark. Meanwhile, the report also states that a member of Pacman’s entourage previously had said that he would “f–k this motherf–ker” and that “[w]e’ll smoke his ass” in reference to one of the other persons who was shot. Here’s our question. What did Pacman Jones say to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in April 2007 or at any other time thereafter when asked about the Las Vegas incident? Our guess is that Jones used the “I don’t know nothing” defense, which would be directly at odds with what Jones thereafter told police in Las Vegas, possibly at the urging of lawyers who feared that the authorities eventually would find the shooter, and that the shooter would claim that Pacman ordered the hit before Pacman could offer up a carefully spun version of the events. Needless to say, the Cowboys might merely be loaning that fourth-round pick that was sent to the Titans earlier today for Jones. Because we now suspect that, one way or another, Commissioner Roger Goodell will find a way to keep Jones out of the league in 2008. Bottom line? Jones paid a guy $15,000 for a hit, not because he ordered the hit but only because he feared that if he didn’t pay the money the guy would come after him. And, amazingly, Jones opted not to alert the authorities to the threats from the man who was admitting to these crimes. Pacman, we suggest that you hold off on trying on that silver helmet with the star. |
Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
I'm w/Saen1 on this, sure Pacman has his issues, but he's a really good corner, could be great if he'd stay out of trouble. I don't see the boyz taking much risk here at all. The real risk is if pac gets someone else on the team in trouble. No one's ever said he was a bad teamate, just not a professional off the field.
My fear WAS that he would go to Dallas & turn his career around. Now w/word about the shooter & pac possibly paying him $15,000 to keep quiet (another smart move, boy that guy really earned his money, he didn't talk for a whole year!) I don't see it happening. |

Re: Breaking News: Cowboys Agree to Send 4th Rounder to Titans for Pac Man
How can you guys be so happy about this? Im going to go on record and probably staying in the minority on this.
The cowboys took zero risk, a late round pick for a top corner... Lets just hope he doestn get reinstated (if he doesnt they get their pick back) because we are going to need help on offense with him playing against us twice a year. Id rather he went to the Bengals and hung out with his inmates there. The guy call play, hes a great returner... Lets just hope you all are right and he destroys that team. I think hes tryign to make a point of coming back strong and prove everyone wrong. hes been trying to come back and prove himself for a while now but they wotn let him back |

is anyone else thinking like me on this. Jones has a better shot at being reinstated as a cowboy with jones and the like behind him than as a titian? That may be one of the reasons for the deal |

Solid starter, but he's not one of the top 10 at his position, which is what I think of when someone says top player. |

Well that just about what everyone said when they made the deal with TO. I'm sure if he gets reinstated Jones will have his contracted worded so they can dump him if he has any more issues and I would bet it will have a clause about strip clubs. Jones is not dumb and is really taking very little risk from what I have seen at this point. |

I'm sure that contractually it's a low risk. But could you imagine the mass hysteria on this board if the Redskins had made this move? |
